In the middle of the nature, no-noise, staff was very helpful. Foods were delicious. You feel you are in safe place. Even if there is no grid in the area, we had power when we need.

the lodge is not new, some little maintenance could improve the experience that remains overall very positive. some more advice on the route to the hotel would be recommended. not easy drive, but it was expected being a lodge in the middle of samburu park.

nice hotel, very nice and comfortable rooms. in the middle of the savana. food good quality. staff very pleasant and supportive.

My guide and chauffør were very, very unhappy with there sleeping quarters. The bed was apparently just terrible and although the complained it was to no avail. This is most unsafisfactory for me as my chauffør needs a good night's sleep.. I hope this will improve for others.

The drive to the property from the reserve gate was awful. We didn’t have a 4x4 and that is definitely needed.

The staff and the food were excellent, we felt very well looked after. Rooms were perfect.

Lodge is 23km of gravel road from the park gate. Do not use a regular sedan. Pool is out of use being renovated. We were not told in advance. Few animals come to the almost empty cement waterhole Gardens all parched. Needs landscaping. We got wrong info on arranging a safari drive - unkept driver, messy car with no door, poor knowledge of fauna and flora, wrong payment information. We got wrong directions to neighbouring lodge pool. Lucky to get right directions from another staffer. More rough road. That lodge had better meals so we stayed for lunch. Only one water bottle in room in very hot climate. Not enough. Buffet meals are of average standard, fish burned, meats overcooked, not anough fruit.

All meals buffet of average standard. WiFi available in dining room. Staff friendly

To far from everything, not much to do. Would not spend more than two nights here. Also there were no information about the tax fee that you need to pay extra everyday you stay there.

    Beautiful, nice personal.

The food was sub-standard for a true lodge - both the breakfast offering and the dinner buffet. Restaurant and bar staff require a higher level of training in their job roles. The pool filter does not operate - it is un-chlorinated, unsanitary and not safe to swim in. It needs urgent attention. Investment is required to lift this property up to its previous standards and its full potential.

Styling and design of rooms as ‘bomas’ was quaint. Reception staff were attentive. The suite was immaculately clean & has a spacious bathroom with good water pressure, nice hot water and range of bathroom amenities.

After a 3 year drought the very hard rains that followed had washed out both the access roads to the Samburu Sopa. It would have been good to have knowledge of this in advance. We were driving ourselves and were lucky to complete the journey in a saloon car. We then hired a local driver with his car as there was no possibility of using ours. The room was comfortable but with no fan or air con it was hot. The swimming pool was not full (so couldn't swim lengths). The pool area needs cleaning and maintenance (pool shower and kids pool not working). Our enjoyment of the pool was ruined one afternoon by the arrival of rowdy and rude non-residents who took over the pool area. Re the staff - some knew their jobs well, but others didn't understand customer service and did nothing proactively - we seemed to spend a lot of time trying to find staff to get things done.

The location is beautiful and its fun to watch game coming to the nearby waterhole from the bar/restaurant. The room terrace with its panoramic view was also a plus (2 dikdik spent the night 10 ft from ours). Most of the staff were helpful and friendly. Two people that deserve a mention are Mercy (on reception) who arranged for our local safari drive and the driver Ken (who is not a lodge employee). Ken was outstanding, knowledgeable and friendly - he made our trip. The manager (Abu) was very personable and friendly and his attitude was encouraging - we had some issues (see below) - and he listened to us and promised to deal with them.

Lots of insects in the room, wasn't able to turn off the light in the bathroom (was bright during sleep), wifi only in the reception area but unstable and weak, limited time of electricity usage, charging slow and weak. You have to pay natoonal park entrance fee for each day of stay. The hotel has no cars, so you have to get it aranged. Do not recommend to anyone who has to stay in contact with civilization.

Location, friendly and nice staff. Food was ok.
