Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe level of chlorine or the ph in the main pool was over the top and it literally burnt your eyes.
Our villa had it's own private pool which was lovely after spending a lazy day at a picturesque beach. It was quiet and relaxing.

FranceLimited beer choices. Diesel generator right next to our room which ran all night as there was no mains power. The local shop looked like it had been looted. The menu was limited and probably the worst pizza we've ever had and over priced. We were scheduled to stay for 7 nights, left after one!

AustraliaNot a 4 star resort!! beach was limited with construction debris both on sand and in water with some broken glass. No shelter on beach and beach seats inadequate. Bungalows average with bathrooms not cleaned regularly . providing toilet paper etc irregular Located in an isolated area with very limited access to rest of island .only by boat and a very difficult walking track over very rough rocks taking 1,5 hours. Located to receive unprotected gale force winds daily which lashed the resort especially "beachfront "bungalows Pool rarely cleaned and too close to restaurant made it unpleasant to swim in , also splashing of tables and chairs. When booked no flexibility re length of stay when we realised we had incorrectly booked and paid for the stay!!! Staff tried but limited information re activities etc.
breakfast ok but other meals poor and expensive for what you got.

SpainEven if we read some reviews before booking it was never mentioned just how secluded this hotel is, and that adverse weather conditions could make it difficult or even impossible to reach. Because of strong winds and rough seas, we ended up waiting at the port for half a day not knowing if we could reach the hotel, and we could not leave the hotel for 4 days after, as all the activities were cancelled and there’s nothing to do around. While the staff did their best to assist us, the language barrier made it challenging to get clear guidance. When we arrived, we were disappointed to find that the beach and facilities looked very different from the photos. All the plants seemed to be dead or dying, no umbrellas or sunbeds at the beach, and the sand level was much lower than shown. There were also fallen trees and noticeable trash on the shoreline. At one point, a section of the beach wall collapsed, yet no caution signs were placed to warn guests. We understand that things can be affected by changing weather, but nobody in the management acknowledged the situation, so we don’t know if this was just temporal or things are really getting bad with the hotel. We also found the hotel restaurant to be very expensive, with food that was average at best (for instance, we paid $10.50 for a very tough beef loklak and $11.5 for noodles, in comparison to the rest of Cambodia were these dishes avg. 3-5 dollars). Worse, we had to return a dish halfway through because we found what appeared to be wall plaster with plastic fibers. Initially, they tried to charge us for it, but after we refused, they finally took it off the bill. It was an unsettling experience, especially since there are virtually no alternative dining options on the island aside from The Sky Bar.
We found the staff to be genuinely warm and welcoming, always greeting us with a smile and doing their best to assist us throughout our stay. We also really enjoyed the breakfast each morning, which offered a nice variety of options for different tastes and changed every day. Our room was nice, comfortable, and well-maintained, and one of the best parts was going to bed and waking up to the sound of the sea.

FranceAmazing Staff, caring and thoughtful at all moments. We felt very protected and looked after all the time. Although we docked on the other side of the island due to the waves (something that happens frequently and for which no one warns you before at the port) they took our luggages uphill and downhill providing a transfer service on an island with almost no roads. Even if a bit bumpy, we made it to the resort with low effort (just a steep staircase which is necessary given the morphology of the island). The resort is beautiful, located on the side of a protrusion, the best on the beach by fair. The first night we stayed on the closest suite to the restaurant, which is noisy due to the ventilation system. We then moved the day after and everything was perfect. special mention for Chhoeung who was always there for everything, from the docking, to bringing up and down the luggages and all things during the stay. Amazing guy

AustraliaWater taxi is a small boat at $5US per person Check in to wrong room with inadequate cleanliness of the pool and room, noting booking was made in July. Only when we threatened a discount on the nightly rate were we moved. Moved into our room. Cleaning staff were rude when relocating their friends/management from the villa we booked. Cum stains on fabric bed frame and shower was utter filth. Pool wasn’t on in the pool and it was a task to have the filter on, resulting in a pool that smelled like a fish bowl. Lack of maintenance evident with filters full of leaf matter and many tiles missing. No fridge. Ants in abundance. Many power outages but they are only short. Bathroom drain stinks of sewer. Restaurant was very slow Meals were brought out sporadically so some would wait for the others to eat (our mains came out and the children waited for another twenty minutes for soup) Filthy tables with stains on serviettes and table cloth Be wary of being overcharged for additional drinks (every night we ate at the restaurant the first bill would have additional drinks or juice would be charged as a cocktail (one night an additional 5 drinks were added)) we picked up on this and the bill was amended immediately without question. Restaurant runs out of a lot of items regularly. Be expected to suddenly get something that you didn’t order followed up with an assumption you’ll take it (ie ran out of white wine and were served the rose, when we asked why we had rose when ordering white wine, were told they had run out. Same with items on menu, they run out regularly. Activities are pretty secretive or not openly advertised. No ATM or capacity to exchange on the AUD or GBP Let’s be frank. The place is under financial stress and you can tell from the moment you walk in.
Beach location is nice and close Food is good at the restaurant but pricey and slow in service (ie a cocktail will take over 15mins to prepare) Aircon is great and rooms are relatively quiet Rooms are spacious and bed is comfortable When you’re allocated to the villa you booked, it’s actually nice being on the fringe of the resort Villa has a Nice big deck for eating and enjoying a drink or two by the pool. Villa Pool is nice when it’s being filtered. Ocean is clean and nice with a great view of the city across the bay Good walk through the jungle to the neighbouring resorts and Saracen Bay The SkyView restaurant just up the way have amazing staff, really great food and fresh seafood on the BBQ (see my review of them) Mr Boren was great in welcoming us and maintaining contact Front of house staff are super friendly and with a smile at every opportunity Cleaning staff are snarly and scowl at you when you engage or even go near or glance at them. You won’t always get what you request Bring heaps of cash, sunscreen and bug repellent as the mini marts do not stock sunscreen or repellent and there’s not an ATM within an hour. (They do however supply lube, condoms, Oreos and chips)

SingaporeAfter reading the reviews saying how nice an helpful the staff was, we had high expectations for this hotel. Turned out that either the reviews are fake or the staff who were nice and polite left. We were taken aback by how rude staff was in general, no good morning, barely replying when we ask a question or abrupt answers, very disappointing. The breakfast and food in the restaurant are below average… stick to Asian dishes if you want something ok. And it is expensive! They never clean the tables or the breakfast mats, so when you arrive in the morning, there are pieces of foods on the mats, stains and many ants. We had a baby and asked to use the baby chairs, we had to go and clean it ourselves at the small hose outside the restaurant each time… It would have taken the staff 1 min to do it after each baby used it or at the very least instead of looking at us doing it, they could have offered to help.
The beach is very nice and the hotel rooms are quite clean and comfy (just don’t look under the bed where I don’t think they ever cleaned since it was installed…)

AustraliaThe power kept going off, which is not an issue, but every time the power came back on all the lights would come on. At night that is annoying. Food was ok, but we never got all our dishes at the same time. All in all price/quality was not in line
Villa we had was nice, good to have our own pool, the hotel pool and the beach which is great for kids as its shallow. Nice to sit by the water and have cocktail. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful.

EstoniaWhile the bungalow’s sea view was nice, the overall experience left much to be desired. The accommodations felt basic and in need of maintenance, with small inconveniences like inconsistent towel availability and no hand soap in the bathroom. The beach lacked adequate shade, with only four sun umbrellas for over 16 sunbeds, which were quickly taken—meaning you had to wake up early to secure one. There were no hammocks, and vegetarians were left with limited breakfast options, as no dairy-free products were available, and nearly all items contained meat or fish. The service was disappointing and not particularly customer-focused, which detracted from the stay.
I stayed in a bungalow with a sea view, which offered a simple yet comfortable experience. The bungalow was cozy, providing a tranquil retreat right by the beach.

United KingdomLocation wise, I’d probably say Sandy Beach is one of the less nice beaches on the island - it’s under construction and has dirtier water with rubbish present both on the beach and in the sea. You’re quite isolated from other beaches (lazy beach a 1.5 hour hike away), and this means there’s a greater dependence on the restaurant/shuttle/beach resources that are available. Rather than accommodating the isolation, it felt quite transactional; the shuttle service offered by the hotel was expensive, and most disappointing for us was the restaurant food and service taking advantage of the limited options surrounding the resort. In general, the service was littered with mistakes, which takes away from a relaxing holiday because we had to constantly make sure to check various charges. The staff are all incredibly kind - it’s just one of those things that unfortunately will stick with us from our time spent.
Nice room that was clean and well kept every day. Friendly staff.

DenmarkNice resort at a quiet beach, perfect for a couple of quiet days. The water is crystal blue, but a bit wavy. You can see sihanoukville on the horizon, which is beautiful at night time. The staff made all the transport very smooth and they did an amazing job decorating our room for our anniversary. The bed is extremely comfortable. A couple of different restaurants in walking distance Up the small hill there is a shop, a local restaurant and they also arrange tours and transport to the different parts of the islands. We had a great stay, and the price is spot on.
