Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CambodiaI wish I had stayed her longer.
I had the best time staying here. Not a fancy hostel but it has everything you need: cozy bed, the pool, good location in the middle of Siem Reap city center, cute little bar, and most of all, the staff. Very kind, accommodating, and willing to go beyond what's expected of them to give you the best time. They also arranged the sunrise and temples tour for me and other guests, which was one of my most memorable experiences in Siem Reap :')

United KingdomNot much in the way of hostel events - but this could be a pro for some. No lockers for luggage.
Nice to have a pool to cool off in the evening on hot days. Beds were very comfortable and was really nice to have air con as well as a curtain for privacy. The food served here was great and well priced. Nice areas to chill out in and staff were very accommodating and helpful. Lots of tours and onward travel bookable through the hostel at a reasonable price. Very quiet when we were there.

New ZealandThe showers and toilets are not seperate and there are not enough of them so quite often you are left needing to use the toilet while people are in the shower/toilet behind a locked door so you have to hang on 😬 Fixing this would be difficult, the bathroom part of the building was very badly designed. If the hostel survives then it would be worth building a new bathroom block and utilising the current bathrooms as more bedrooms. Watch out for the floor if it is wet. Super super slippery!
The pool! The pool is great. Very clean. Lots of fun. The staff. All the staff were polite and friendly. Well done whoever chose them. The "living area" is pretty good. A table and seats and a couple of lounge suites (they could do with two more). The food. They sell meals, a little pricey but very convenient if the monsoon arrives and you are hungry!

Thailand#coffeewithamonk They should have some more free and he group events like local cooking experience or group free umbrella tours offered by friendly staff to encourage them to learn English and teach locals about public speaking or international languages
Very welcoming and peaceful common area nic a cool with inviting atmosphere. Good place for Clean beds swimming pool and local owned business. Not a party hostel but you can go next door and still enjoy the parties without losing sleep from the young crowds next door. Private and call close to pubstreet and night markets. I really enjoyed my stay at Gecko Hostel. The owners are such kind and friendly people who are always up for a chat :) They opened the hostel a couple of months ago, so everything is pretty new. I quite liked that they provide their guests with towels. You can also get food which I tried a few times and it was always delicious. Location is also ideal as it's close enough to the touristy area but there are also some bars and restaurants right around the corner. You can book tours and bus tickets at the reception and there's a cheap laundry place next door which returns your laundry in less than 24h.

United KingdomStaff were super nice and friendly, especially Rin who gave good advice of places to go. The hostel is near town centre so it is really easy to walk to pub street etc where the markets are. The facilities were clean and other travellers were nice. Pool is nice, good to swim in after a long day exploring. It was very affordable. Siem Reap is safe, as a young female solo traveller I actually felt safe walking around alone at night. You can also rent a bike to cycle around Angkor Wat , which gives you a lot of freedom. You can rent one through the hostel for $3/day. The city bike is useful because it has a basket in front. (If you go cycling you must wear suncream and bring LOTS of water tho). Takes about 45 mins to cycle to Angkor Wat (I'm kind of slow tho).

CanadaThis new locally-owned hostel was my favorite! From initially staying 3 nights, we extended our stay for a week. We are glad we chose to stay here, and we are grateful for the family meals and unforgettable memories. They made us feel like we were home. Keep in mind the hostel is still new and might not have everything set in place yet, but I would highly recommend staying here, as there is good functional air conditioning, comfortable and clean room, a pool, great location, and an amazing, friendly, helpful staff. Shout out to Win and Bunna ! Thank you for everything 🎊

GreeceThe staff is very helpfull and sympathetic. The rooms as well as the restrooms are always clean .The rooms are also regularly air contitioned. It's location is perfect as it is located near the city center as well as near all the bars and the atmosphere is very festive. It is also only 1,30 hours away from Angkor Wat on foot but there are plenty of tuktuk drivers to get you there .Also the staff can arrange the tuktuk and the shuttle bus that will get you straight to the airport so I really appreciated that.I will definitely stay here if I ever visit Siem Reap again!!

United KingdomNothing I can think of
This hostel was amazing, I planned to stay 2 nights and ended up staying 11, we had such an authentic experience (unlike some of the other hostels which are mainly just westerners partying) the staff were lovely, made it feel like a home, cooking & eating together local Cambodian cuisine, music, karaoke and so many laughs. The guys there took us out and we experienced places we wouldn’t have if we hadn’t of met the locals from our place. I even decided to stay for my birthday (stay in Cambodia instead of Thailand like I had planned) bless them they got me presents and a cake, literally how more like home could it feel? Definitely coming back to this place! So comfortable and clean, perfect location and set up🧡
