Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

AustraliaWe loved our authentic Cambodian homestay. We were welcomed and treated as family- sharing meals and stories together. You will likely get the chance to meet all three generations of the family which we really enjoyed. The food was really tasty, and we enjoyed a day tour being shown around in Harry's tuktuk and his vast local knowledge about Battambang. Thank you for looking after us during our stay!

United KingdomVery lovely family who were so lovely and hospitable. They treat you like you’re a part of the family! Harry also picked us up from the bus station which was a great bonus. We also joined the tuk tuk tour that Harry offered and he was so knowledgeable about his city and everything around it. We loved his tour and would recommend to anyone who stays, it was so worth it and I felt much more immersed into the culture and the city. The breakfast at his sisters restaurant is also very delicious!

United KingdomNot a bad word.
A truly authentic Cambodian experience. This is an amazing Cambodian family that you stay with in their home. We learnt so much about Cambodia as a country and how they live. They treat you as their own family and look after you so so well. A water dispenser with hot/warm/cold water, bananas to help yourself to, amazing food, hammocks to relax in and tea to drink. The highlight for us was the food that was made - you are invited to join the family for dinner for a small cost and Mom the hosts sister cooks a variety of fresh, delicious Cambodian dishes which we couldn’t resist both nights. The host Harry is so welcoming and has a tuk tuk so if you need tours of Battambang he’s your man. Harry speaks amazing English and knows so much about Cambodia after having been a tour guide for many years. The mother and father of the house treat you as their own and share personal experiences from living/working through the Khmer Rouge. Overall, if you’re looking for a real taste of Cambodia and a wholesome time - STAY HERE!

GermanyEverything was great. I'd return to Battambang just to stay with them - there's not much going on in the town and with this homestay you don't need it anyway!
Clean, comfy bungalows with private bathroom and AC. But the best bit was the family! They're all so welcoming and make it feel like an authentic homestay! I did the cooking class at the daughter's Cafe, which was awesome. If you don't have the patience to pound curry paste, just order one of her fabulous yet affordable meals - or her tasty unique egg coffee (not like the Vietnamese one). What's more, the kids were so great, I felt like an auntie visiting. Highly recommend you stay here, I wouldn't have traded this experience for anything! And make sure you have dinner with them, it's epic! Thank you, everyone! ♥️

I got an amazing homemade dinner and ate with the whole family together! It was a great and absolute local experience! The bed was comfortable! They‘re also offering tuktuk tours around the city! GermanyIn the very beginning we once or twice had the impression that their communication style is a bit pushy. Know, that they only offer their services. You can choose to say yes or no, as you like. They're only trying to give you the best experience possible. We think you should say yes most of the time ;)
I can highly recommend choosing the Lazy Mango Homestay in Battambang! It is a real homestay with the family around and taking care of you all the time. They have beds inside their house, separated by curtains as far as I could see, and they also have two private bungalows with private bathrooms. We stayed in the latter for 8 nights and were very sad to leave. The whole family is lovely! Ma and Pa host the guests and are so warm and welcoming. Mom has a nice restaurant close by, and cooks an amazing dinner with loads of choices of real Cambodian food if you like. The 6$ per person are totally worth it! She even cooked vegetarian food for us which was amazing! Her husband is a super nice tuktuk driver who is easily reached directly through any family member. And Harry is a great tour guide who has a vast knowledge about anything regarding Cambodia, the history, the rural life, and the neighbouring countries. He has two tours he usually suggests to the guests who stay only for a few days but if you stay longer, you can also customize it, as we did, and mix and match, and discuss the possibilities with Harry. We really enjoyed our stay with them, and are grateful for the wonderful time, and the glimpse into the life of a Cambodian family. Thank you all, Ma, Pa, Mom, Harry, and everyone else we met in your house!

Such a beautiful family who make you feel so very welcome. It’s so much more than some accommodation. We stayed for 2 nights and ate with the family both nights. Mom, the daughter prepared absolutely delicious food for us with a great variety of dishes. Breakfast is at Mom’s coffee shop around the corner. Wholeheartedly recommend!

NetherlandsThere's a Buddhist temple nearby which will start a recording of chanting early on. It's also possible to hear Cambodian weddings in the area in the "winter". This is not meant to dissuade you, the place is great. Just be prepared and bring earplugs.
- Very comfortable beds - A truly authentic experience - Chatting with papa in the evenings - Mom's cooking - Great value! It's not the typical guesthouse, it is a homestay, it's authentically Cambodian. You can join family dinner every evening at an extra cost and you eat and chat with locals, not separately. Thank you Harry, Mom, papa & mama for the heartwarming hospitality!

NetherlandsNothing! Everything was great!
Our stay at Lazy Mango Homestay was our favourite in South East Asia. Once you step over the threshold into the property you are welcomed with open arms and a cup of tea. We instantly felt part of the family. Breakfast every morning was simple but incredibly tasty and talking with the family immediately put us in a great mood each time. Additionally, we did a cooking class at the homestay, which really gave an insight into home cooking in Cambodia. And the flavours were amazing! You can rent bicycles and do your own laundry in the old fashioned way. Harry also offers to do a tuktuk tour of the city and surroundings which was a great experience as well. Harry is very knowledgeable and speaks English very well. If you want a home away from home, this is the place!

BelgiumSaying goodbye was hard.
Lovely family that will take care of you. I felt home and safe in Battambang. Breakfast (eggs, onion and real “French baguette” with coffee)is included in the price 😍 I also recommend people to eat dinner with the family (a lot of food + dessert) The family is really helpful and will show you the real local experience of Battambang. Much better than other guides in the city. Happy to find my joy back during my stay at this guesthouse. They also pick you up from the bus station, and if you ask Harry he can organise a Tuktuk to bring you to the bus station at the end of your stay.

ItalyIf you’re looking for a real taste of Cambodian life, Lazy Mango Homestay is the perfect place for you! I spent 4 amazing days with Harry and his family. Lazy Mango is a great spot: close to the city center but located in a local neighborhood in Battambang, where everyone greets you with a smile. I stayed in one of the two outdoor bungalows. It’s simple and basic, but very comfortable, with both a fan and air conditioning to keep cool. What I enjoyed the most was the outdoor courtyard, a shared space with the super kind and welcoming hosts. They always made sure I had fresh water, fruit, or a taste of local food! In the evenings, you can order dinner from Harry’s sister. The food is tasty, and the portions are big. Sharing meals with the family was one of the best parts of my stay! The Wi-Fi is another big plus: it works really well. I was able to work comfortably in the courtyard, sitting in the shade with the fan on. I’m so happy I chose to stay at this homestay. I made beautiful memories and had experiences that I wouldn’t have had at a regular hotel. Thank you, Harry and family! I wish you all the best and lots of good luck!

This is a unique opportunity to experience day to day life with a typical Cambodian family in a very local neighborhood on the outskirts of Battambang. The family is very welcoming, and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. Accommodation is basic, but well worth the experience. They also set up excursions that allow you to learn more about the history and culture while supporting the local community. The authentic home cooked dinners were amazing!

The homestay is situated in a rural area just outside of the center. Saki was an amazing tuk tuk tour guide and showed us all the spots around Battambang. Thank you for a great stay :)
