The place is good if you like to party, but otherwise, don't go! It's constantly noisy and busy with people drinking. The beds were sandy and not clean, the bathroom was not clean either. I'm glad I only stayed one night!

The hostel is right on the beach and easily reachable by ferry. The restaurant is very good and they accept card payments, which is not the case for most places on the island. The staff is very friendly.

The bungalow was really clean and comfortable located right on the beach! The hostel has such good vibes and it had a really nice outdoor seating area as well as benches and hammocks right on the beach. Really good food and such friendly staff. Especially Sima, Joe and Perdie! Would definitely recommend staying here, we even extended as we loved it so much.

The best hostel to stay at on Koh Rong, especially if you are going to Nestival. The hostel had a great vibe, really good food and was very sociable. The rooms were cool and comfy and right on the beach. Very close to the pier for leaving the island too

The staff at Mad Monkeys are useless, unprofessional and unsatisfied and unfriendly. They need to train staff to become more professional. I have to kill 13 mosquitos in my room. I slipped and fell over in the bathroom to hurt my knee. Waiting for my french fries over 50 mins and 3 bartenders there only one server over 12 people are waiting on the line.

I stayed in a private room which was very spacious, had a great view of the beach, towels provided and nice and clean. The hostel organised snorkel trip was great value for money and so much fun. Good food and organised activities in the evening, nice social atmosphere.

We booked a private room with a bathroom but had no water in the bathroom for 2 days so we were unable to use the shower for 2 days, we brought this up with staff multiple times but nothing was done about it till we asked for some compensation which came in the way of 2 free drinks

Female room Number 2: Our toilet seat was clogged and every time that you were taking a shower it was clogged even worse. Also all the mattresses were packed up in a plastic bag which make it very loud every time you were mohín in your bed.

Food from the restaurant was not too great. Usually they got my order wrong on the first try, and even when correct the food didn't taste good. I did enjoy the Green Goddess salad. Breakfast was so oily and rubbery (eggs and hashbrown) I couldn't eat it (but the staff was always so nice!). The hammocks on the private bungalow porches are hung too low so you cannot use them at all. Your body will sink flat to the floor even if you are a toddler. Please fix the hammocks or switch them out for for chairs.

Great place to live the simple life by the beach. My private bungalow was very simple, but exactly as expected, and very clean. Appreciated the social activities organized everyday. The staff was always friendly and helpful -- thanks to Lauren and Nami and everyone else whose names I don't remember. It's not fancy but it's a wonderful hostel, a great choice for beachside fun with a social life and no frills. Enjoyed having lots of common areas to hang out, relax, make friends, enjoy the beach. Also the beach here was GREAT, very clean compared to other beaches I visited on the island.

Was my own fault that I didn’t understand I booked a party hostel. The party on the common restaurant area / beach is not a problem at all, that’s great actually, but the room was the most hiddious thing I could have imagined. The guests in here were careless, dirty and drunk, which is not a fault of the hostel, but I’m sure the party concept attracts these kind of people. The floors are full of people’s stuff and dirty clothes, sand is everywhere, people keep partying and talking on the room in the night and won’t care when asked to be a bit more silent. I’ve stayed in many other hostels and never seen this bad behaving people The bed felt dirty and the sheets were full of old spots. The AC is not on in most parts of the day so it’s impossible to try to get something from the super hot upper bed in the middle of the day. I didn’t get a nice feeling from most of the staff members which is super rare in Cambodia where most of the people have been the nicest I’ve ever met. Long and difficult road to visit the village and hard to get back from there at the evening. There’s really nothing much to do around the hostel than chill on the beach. I booked 3 nights but ended up staying only one and leaving the island because I got so anxious in here. I’m sorry for the bad review but this place is not for people who seek for nice and relaxing time at the island, you only see people relaxing at the morning when they have a hangover. When you travel you just book the accommodations quickly and check the good reviews and might not notice the detail it’s a party hostel.

The beach is very close, the common area with the restaurant service is nice. Some of the staff members tried to be nice. The toilet/shower areas are okay and quite clean. Great for people who want to party, drink, meet new friends and just chill.

First off, the staff is very unprofessional, trying to scam people with the dollar bills, furthermore they made me feel very uneasy and uncomfortable, especially the one local guy who said his name is Map, and the (probably only) British girl working there. So I paid my drinks in USD and I got back USD. Later on I wanted to pay with the notes I got from them and they did not accept it! I told them I got the bills here, but Map threw the dollar back to me aggressively, saying they did not gave me that dollar, and called me a liar and told me to go away. Then I asked for help from the British girl as we talked before, I asked for the guys name, and she refused to tell me and she called the security on me, making me feel very humiliated and uncomfortable in front of the other guest, who did not understand whats going on either. I stayed at Mad Monkeys before a lot in southeast asia, but this was the las one, never again.

The AC unit was set on a timer which didn’t start until 9pm and stopped at 10am. Bathrooms were very small with only 2 per 12 bed dorm and 1 sink between everyone so made it difficult to get use. WIFI was very spotty along with slow food service.

Peaceful location for direct beach access with a nice communal bar and hammocks.
