Although it was past check in hour (booking said it was at 14h, and we got there at 17h), we had to wait for 20min till the room was ready. I had to ask for how long more should we wait (we had to get ready for a meeting across the town 1h later) and they prepared it immediately. I guess this wait could be avoided specially if we've past the check in hour. But the staff was helpful afterwards, so no big deal.

Good location for our needs, close to colombo in 20min by bus. Good rooms with comfy beds, AC and fans, good small kitchen with free tea/coffee, very appreciated! I liked the fact that each room of 8 has its own private bathroom (wc & shower) clean enough for our expectations. And they had let us keep our car inside the premises.

It's not a five star chain hotel of course, but that comes with the territory I think. All in all, excellent at the price.

Very friendly staff who helped me out in several different ways to sort out the little issues that come in solo traveling. The rooms are very clean and quiet. I appreciated the security in the place as well. The fact that the place is completely sober - there is absolutely no smoking or drinking allowed - only increased the security I felt.

The only minor issue during our stay was the placement of the electrical plug bases. They weren't ideally located for charging phones, cameras, or other devices near the beds. It would be more convenient if the plugs were fixed in more accessible spots closer to the beds. Despite this, everything else about the stay was fantastic, and I would still highly recommend Havelock City Hostel for its excellent service, cleanliness, and overall experience!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Havelock City Hostel with my friends, and I can honestly say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Upon arrival, the reception staff welcomed us warmly, and their politeness and helpfulness set the tone for the entire stay. The hostel itself is located in a prime area, making it convenient to explore the surroundings, and the cleanliness throughout the entire facility was impressive. The rooms were comfortable, and everything was thoughtfully arranged to ensure a relaxing environment. Overall, our time at Havelock City Hostel was truly amazing. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful and hassle-free stay. A big thumbs up from me!

Everything about this hostel is amazing!! It has all the facilities you can think of. A very chill lounge area for socialising and to do your work on the laptop, a separate washing and dining area, and clean bathrooms and well functional A/Cs.. it is very well maintained and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Really multicultural vibes, and it's perfect for long and short stays.. the location is very peaceful away from the bustle of the city, surrounded by nature. The hostel even has very good energy, so much so that even wild animals feel safe. You can find squirrels, birds, and even the neighbour's cat comes to the lounge area to chill, which is so cool. People take really good care of the animals and leave leftover food for them. 10/10, and I can confidently recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a place to stay close to the city. I wanted to extend my stay and the staff was really accommodating and found me a room to stay in, which is very considerate!

The Contact Person Sethmi was really friendly and she did her best to accommodate my requirement ( Early check in & Late check out) other than that the facility was super friendly and neat. Overall my experience was beyond expectations and very satisfied.

Location isn’t great; in the same building as an alcohol/drug addiction service so no alcohol allowed on premises; absolutely no vibe; desk staff (with the exception of one very nice lady) were rude.

Everything was dirty. The towels and sheets were very dirty, with horrible stains. The walls were awful too. In the bathroom, there was a huge hole from which mosquitoes were coming. Also, during my last night (29/01), there were a lot of people talking very loudly, especially a girl. I went out to ask her to speak more quietly, but they continued until 3 AM. I assume they were workers at the hostel, but even if they were guests, there should be rules prohibiting noise after 11 PM. It was a horrible experience. Plus, it was extremely expensive and really far from the center. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Great value for money! The location is convenient, with a bus stop nearby. I arrived early in the morning from the airport, and the staff was incredibly kind, allowing me to check in right away.
