We loved our stay at Ayubowan! The views from our room were amazing and it was a lovely 15-20 min walk along the train track to Ella town. It’s a 5 min walk along the train track to the start of the Ella rock hike. The hosts were very friendly and gave us lots of recommendations for things to do in Ella and for the rest our trip in Sri Lanka

Beautiful views from the property, it was wonderful to eat breakfast on the terrace overlooking the valley with its hills and railway track. The room was very spacious and clean and comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful, they organised taxis to pick us up from the train station, and to take us onwards to the South coast on departure. They also took us on a trip to Upper Diyaluma Falls which was a really nice experience, swimming in beautiful waterfalls in the hills, and then on to Nine Arch Bridge. The hotel is a little out of the centre of town but you can walk directly from the accommodation along the train track into the centre of Ella, it takes around 15/20 minutes I’d say, but is a lovely walk and a fun and novel experience to walk along a train track (just stay out of the grasses at the edge to avoid leeches!). The road leading to/from the accommodation is a bit crazy - it’s massively steep so is a little bit like being on a rollercoaster getting in and out by road, but the manager of Ayubowan Ella is a real pro at navigating it! 🙂

The accommodation was amazing. The staff went out of their way to help and drive us around. They picked us up whenever we needed them to. Nalaka was one of the kindest people we have ever met. He knows everything about Sri Lanka and gave us great tips what to do. Highly highly recommend this place for your trip to Ella!

This was the best accommodation we had after spending 3 weeks in Sri Lanka. Nalaka is a fantastic host, he gave us great tips on visiting Ella and Ella rock and even arranged our transport to Udawalawa national park and then to Tangalle. Waking up to this amazing view was a great experience. Room was big and comfortable. Don’t miss out on staying at this place.

Nice location and host. We enjoyed it a lot. The room was very large and had new furniture. The room view was attractive. We can see every mountain and rock in Ella. And also, very easy to go to Ella City. Their meals are very delicious. I give to big heart for Ayubowan Ella hotel staff. They did a great job. Thank you very much. We loved this hotel! The family were so welcoming and made delicious breakfasts to set us up for exploring Ella and the surrounding area. The room was really comfortable and was in a brilliant position for walking to nine arches bridge,Ella Rock and little Adam's peak. Most of time we ralax with balcony view. Loved the place. We like balcony virw.The room was very homey and comfortable. The bathroom and rest of the hotel was very clean and beautifully designed. Delicious breakfast served in the morning. And above all Nalaka and his staff are exceptional hosts, very helpful and responsive. They helped sort out a bus coach ticket back to Colombo and even dropped me at the bus stop and made sure everything went well. Fantastic service and an amazing place! Will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Ella!

We absolutely loved our stay at Ayubowan,Ella hotel. It was the best hotel we stayed at in Sri Lanka. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, with a cosy terrace. We had an amazing stay at the beautiful hotel. Everything was perfect! Starting from the room very cozy and elegant, to the beautiful garden and delicious breakfast. The family is truly amazing. Nalaka helped us a lot and gave us many useful information. The hotel is in a very convenient location, walking distance to the main area of Ella, yet it is very quiet and enjoyable. Lovely stay, beautiful location, generous host family and delicious breakfast. it is 10 min walk to downtown, 18 min beautiful walk to the 9 Arches Bridge through the forest, and 19 min walk to Little Adam's PeakTrail. The room is so cute, it is a room with fridge, big bathroom, a lot of space to have 2 medium suitcases, hair dryer, bottle opener, tea, coffee, fridge, int. plug, fan (we didn't even use it as the temperature in Ella is so moderate after 6PM, not hot not humid) so we slept like a baby, comfy mattress, this is one of the best Hotel's l've done in my life. Nalaka and his family are so kind and generous, he gave us traveling tips and helped us with a lift to city centre when it was raining, his family members breakfast is yummy. Thank you for a great stay, we will definitely come back

Outstanding views, lovely quiet spot away from the bustle of Ella town and a nice big and clean family room. The host family were very welcoming and friendly. Nalaka was super helpful in every way, from organising a guide for our dawn walk up Ella Rock to driving us to Udawawale, giving us lots of local knowledge along the way - legend!

The power goes out at times, but this was not the fault of the establishment.

It was extremely convenient as far as location. Everything is a short walk along the train tracks. The view is amazing and seeing the train pass through the valley is surreal. The best part of the experience was the staff. It is family run, and they were extremely accommodating.

Great Hotel. We hiked to Ella Rock because it's very near to our hotel. On the way we saw Mini Rawanaella waterfall. This hotel places on a natural area and we heard and saw a lot of birds and sounds. The balcony view relaxes our mind. We eat delicious food and they provide to us with mineral water bottles. The staff is helpful every time. We highly recommend this place.

This accommodation was perfect! The room, the location, the owners everything was just great. Staying at Atubowan,Ella was one of our best stays in Sri Lanka. The room was a good size, clean and equipped with a large bathroom and a terrace. In the morning you could see the fantastic sunrise from the bed and subsequently enjoy the rich, delicious breakfast of the accommodation. It took about 10 minutes to walk down to the city center. The property is very close to all the attractions in Ella. Since we are hikers, we were able to do everything on foot here. The owners are exceptionally friendly and really try to fulfill every wish. I can wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation to anyone coming to Ella. We would definitely come again and again. Thank you
