How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The ruffian IMTIAZ or whoever he is has swindled my money just because I wanted to leave early he said that no money shall be given back as I have already paid for the entire stay. That guy became a goon in their lobby. His reason was they had to pay BOOKING.COM their commission so no money shall be repaid. Since I asked him where is it mentioned in the property policy he just got enraged and asked me to go to hell. Also after I put up a brave enough stance I got back money minus THE COMMISSION TO BE GIVEN TO BOOKING.COM. Tried to reach out BOOKING.COM customer service but no avail the matter has not yet seen its logical end.
Nothing except the location, these guys are not interested in having a bathroom door latch and anyone unknowingly can barge in while you are showering. And this is in a shared bathroom. Also their safe locker to keep your luggage is broken and they seem to be oblivious about it. Luckily for them there is no option for negative rating on BOOKING.COM.

This is a lively quiet hostel in the centre of busy Colombo Fort. The hostel is clean and staff are friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. It’s close to local restaurants and walking distance to the main busy area of Colombo.

I stayed one night I asked for the extend for one more night they promised me to give a bed after waiting for more than 5 hours they said we can’t give you a bed as it’s fully booked and only females dorm is available

Everything. The bed was amazing, staff very friendly and helpful, location great - nothing to complain about. If I will ever visit Colombo again, I will definitely stay there again. I highly recommend :)

- Staff is unprofessional and unhelpful, - We couldn’t get checked for in earlier, and then our check in was 40 minutes late, - suite is poorly furnished; old towels and sheets, no AC in the main room, no toiletries.

Just personal preference, not bad thing. Here feels like more hotel, not like dorm or hostel which you socialize with new people.

Although I saw them clean twice in one day. The place was not cleann. Especially the bathroom. Place was also fairly dark and enclosed.

I wish that amenities in the kitchen could be upgraded & equipped with appliances
The property is strategically located. I really appreciate assistance from the staffs who went above and beyond to assist me with airport transfer arrangements- even when I had to leave the premises at 3 am in the morning.

The hotel was clean and cool with lots of nice shared spaces to relax. The staff were very welcoming and happy to help with any questions. It is also in a great location and in short walking distance to Old Fort Station, Dutch hospital, Pettah market and Galle Face Green. Supermarket just around the corner and plenty of places to eat on all budgets.

Understated on the outside, serene lounge on the inside with complimentary coffee and tea. Simple but large room with desk ensuite and bed. Great value for the price. Very central location. Very friendly and helpful staff. They also offer a baggage storage service for a modest fee if Sri Lanka is part of a larger journey and you don't need all your luggage as you travel Sri Lanka. Breakfast can be found with locals a block or 2 away at Pillawoos Hotel.
