How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Only thing that could be improved is the lockers which seem fine but are actually not latching on to anything so for now no option to keep the personal belongings secure in the dorm. For some travelers it’s ok, for some it could be worrisome. The price is a bit high for a bunk bed but I think the staff made up for it.
The staff is very welcoming, helpful and attentive. I really appreciated that. They made great recommendations for food around and were simply happy to care for their guests. It was a comfortable stay in the bunk beds and enjoyable to have an AC room for the night.

Location of this property is in heart of the city,everything is in walking distance. Staffs were very helpful.both dormitories & double rooms are good.

Very near Colombo train station which makes it a good place to start your trip in Sri Lanka. Room is basic but fine for a night stay. Not much around for tourists in this area, apparently there is other districts that have more but Colombo was way too crowd and humid for us to enjoy.

Bathrooms could have been a little bit cleaner but such is the hostel life.
Friendliest staff who are incredibly helpful. 24/7 reception and close to the railway station.

Noisy construction work from early morning till afternoon would have been nice to have been informed about before check-in. Wifi in the room could be improved. And dont forget there is always a tuk-tuk available no matter what they say...

No water refill. Not a super exciting area at night.
Convenient location close to Colombo Fort station. Has AC in the room, free coffee and tea. Wifi worked ok!

The bathroom floor was a bit dirty because ppl used shoes to enter
It was very close to the beach and the waterfront as well as some cool bars and neighbourhoods good for night entertainment. The hotel is very modern. The room was comfortable and clean.

Quite a bit overpriced for what it is. The rooms are already rather old, the AC in our room did not work properly and the sink of the shower was clogged.

There are huge construction works going on , which you hear all over the house (my bed was vibrating), the warm water pressure is more like a tinkling, WiFi in room 103 is kinda slow and weak
It’s same as the pictures (only the sofas are petrol colored now), staff is extra nice, it’s clean, it feels safe, location is good

Roof garden was good, but need to make more of it.
Bed was extremely comfortable, my first experience of a hostel and it was great. Good value for money, 4 bed dorm, hot and powerful shower, free tea and coffee in lobby area, short walk to bus/rail station

For the price we paid, this exceeded expectations
Staff were some of the best we have had on our travels. They were so kind, helpful and interested to chat with you. Location is also near enough perfect. Room was basic but had a good A/C and reflected the price. Free coffee and tea was appreciated. Good stay. I’m not normally a fan of shared bathrooms but these were kept clean. Also has nice rooftop terrance with nice view and can take your own food/ drinks.
