How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room was very wet and smellt. All our lugged and clothes smell now. We can't sleept in this hotel and had to change the hotel.
We get a coconut welcomes drink.

Great location near the beach,very good breakfast,, staff help us to make a safari to udawalawa for reasonable price. Room was clean and bedsheets towels also. Highly Recommend

The shower pressure can be worked on.
The staff were exceptionally helpful and accommodating. No fuss with check in or check out. We faced a situation with our rented scooty and the owner helped us quickly. Don't miss the very needy but extremely cute cat. We named her Coco.

Very near to the beach , just few steps,near to the ATM and the city center, first time of our vacation used card payment machine at coco palm. Restaurant and bar area nice ,comfortable room with tea coffee maker and water bottles. Mosquito net also available, Welcome drink with king coconut, helpful staff. Can buy many type of beers for reasonable price of there bar. Breakfast was delicious and many things ilcluded. Can Recommend !!

Great Host,very helpful.we got a coconut as a welcome drink.beach is few steps ,room was clean and many room amenities like free tea coffee maker, water bottles , mosquito vaporiser.Ac and fan working well. Would recommend stay here.

The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect. The staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. We went to see the beach which was an amazing experience Thank you! Will recommend to my colleagues! I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting downtown tangalle.

My room was on the ground floor and was very dark, humid and full of mosquitoes - fortunately they gave me mosquito repellent vaporizer when I asked. Saw a different room on the 2nd floor and was nicer.
Nice location near to the beach, you can hear waves.

Very close to the beach only few steps. Our room was clean and comfortable,friendly staff and owner gave us the info abdout the area what we can do. They had a restaurant and a bar area down stairs. U can choose various type of local and foreign beers at the coco bar. We highly recommend this place for bugdet traveles who come to tangalle for there visiting

Sleeping with a toilet next to our head. The broken and dirty shower. The sink that needed to be opened by a screw. The really “nice” toilet and sewer system smell all night. You can hear all the noise from outside, also if you close the doors(so all the bugs won’t come inside) you have no air in the room. The balcony was cute though. Does not look like in the pictures at all 😂. The lights were so bad that you could not see the dust on the floor. Good marketing tough🤦♀️😂
The only good things about the property were that they had warm water, good internet connection, clean linens and toilet paper. And it had AC.
