United KingdomNo chopping boards, knives or kitchen utensils in the kitchen. Could do with a few sun beds by the pool, but I’m aware the space was limited.
Lovely apartments, gym, rooftop pool and restaurant. The living area and balcony with hot tub was so nice, and an incredible view of the sea and surrounding area. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Good position as well, with a very cheap journey by tuk-tuk journey south to Galle and north to Hikkaduwa.

SwitzerlandLocation may not be ideal if you would like to be closer to other attractions/ more restaurants etc. We wished to order a bottle of wine shortly after we arrived, on calling the restaurant to find out the available options we were told that a bottle of white wine costs 22000 LKR (around 65 USD). We thought this was a very high price but it was a special occasion so we made the order. The next day we went to have dinner in the restaurant and saw that there was an extensive wine list, with many much more affordable wines available. We were sold the most expensive bottle without being offered the whole list. This was disappointing to find out.
Beautiful location. Apartment is spacious and comfortable with everything you need in it or available on request. Staff are kind, and very attentive.

United Arab EmiratesThey have the most helpful and courteous staff. Special Mention to the GM Wayne and Restaurant Manager Chaminda The Breakfast and all food at Crystal Sands is on point. The Tempest Restaurant on the roof top serves up excellent Sri-Lankan inspired Tapas and we were able to witness the most magical sunset. The Apartments are absolutely perfect and spacious and having a plunge pool in our balcony was an absolute treat!

Sri LankaThe booking advertised on booking.com mentioned that im booking a 2bed apartment with a kitchen. But upon completion of the booking we were told one bedroom is going to be locked as only two adults were coming. We booked the two bedroom apartment as opposed to the one bedroom was as we had two toddlers and we needed both the rooms. It consumed time and unnecessary talk and negotiation happened to get them to keep it opened. The cooker hob was disconnected due the short stay (one night stay) which didnt me tion on the booking.com website or on the crystal sands website. We did NOT get access to cook in the pantry for our kids. We originally booked crystal sands because its an apartment and not a room. But basically it worked like a room with a bunch of cupboards and a sink. Our child is very picky when it comes to food and need the particularkind of pasta boiled in a very specific manner , as a result of not having the cooker hob our elder son could not eat. We were asked to order kids meal from the kitchen and thought we mentioned how it has to be cooked when it came it was dry. In short we were inconvenienced by not having the cooker and not having a pot. Next time we will only book it if we have a kitchen. The pool, living area floor was not clean. Pool took about an hour or two to clean after we checked in. Living area was not mopped well though we asked to. We wore bedroom slippers but kids ran around with dirty feet and got on the beds too. The floor is rough tiled so they have to do a little extra mopping to get the dirt out. But they just drag the mopper around and say it’s clean. Pool heaters were not working we were told. Though it was a jacuzzi we could not use it at night as it had cold water. 25celcius outside at night. We liked that the beds were comfortable, nice views and beach access. Food was really good too. No child pool or child recreation activity except the beach playtime.
The location very close to the beach with good access to beach was wonderful.

QatarLocation is a little tricky, it’s far from the market and there’s nothing to do outside the property. Swimming pool very small and in the restaurant with no place to sun bathe or lie down. Rooms are much smaller than how it looked in the pictures on booking. They don’t have inhouse spa therapists but they are on call and they bring them from outside upon request. Room rate is too expensive for what you get.

AustraliaNo privacy at swimming pool. Had to walk through the restaurant which was awkward . Front desk operation is chaotic . There is was no kitchen utensils and cutlery and crockery . Had to ask for them . Beach was rough and definitely would not recommend parents to let children wade into water . The hotel had a stench from sewerage on our check in . It was not rectified satisfactorily even when we checked out . The smell reached the plunge pool area in the second floor . It was poorly managed .
Friendly staff. Some of them went out of their way to help.
