If you travel to Sri Lanka during the end of the dry season of the beginning of the rainy season it could be a bit too hot to sleep with only a fan since there’s no AC in the room. Apart from that, nothing to mention.

Very nice place to stay in Unawatuna and super close to all the facilities. Still worth it to have a motorbike (if you know how to drive one) to explore the surroundings. The owners are super nice and always ready to help with anything you might need 🙏🏼 the property is located right on the side of the main road but you won’t hear a lot of noise during the night.

We had a wonderful time at Dev House! The hosts are the most sweet and helpful people ever. They helped us to secure our tuktuk for the night in front of their shop. They also helped me out when I got water in my phone so they gave me salt and offered rice. The room is very comfortable and also very private since they only offer one room. It was a perfect stay!

I had the most wonderful stay at Dev House in Anawatuna! The place is run by a lovely mom and her mother, who are the sweetest and most attentive hosts you could hope for. They went above and beyond to make our stay special – from keeping our bags safe after check-out to helping us catch the right bus to our next destination. The room was super comfortable. Everything was impeccably clean, and the value for money is fantastic. If you’re looking for a warm, welcoming place to stay, I can’t recommend Dev House enough!

Spotlessly clean homestay run by a lovely mother/daughter duo. I was worried there could be traffic noise being on a main road but room is at the back of the house and very quiet. The bed was very comfortable and extra large (king sized).

Our stay was excellent!! The room is clean and spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The owner was lovely and so helpful. There is only one room so you have complete privacy. The location is excellent, at the top of the Main Street so it is less than 10 minutes walk to the beach but you are away from the busy areas. Location was absolutely perfect!! We were originally worried about not having any A/C however the fan worked well and we kept the windows open to keep fresh air in. The mosquito net is a helpful addition. You have hot water, and plenty of space. We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend to anyone! Particularly given the very good value!

The room was nice, with a good and soft bed. Hot & cold shower, outside the room there was a little living area where you could work or have a tea. Very friendly family and everything was really clean. We even saw the housekeeper iron the bedsheets.

Only issue was the fan was not powerful enough to cool the room so it was cooler outside which made sleeping uncomfortable. I’m sure the fan would be fine if it wasn’t so hot or we were more use to the hot weather.

Staff were very helpful and friendly, they allowed us to check in when we arrived which was a few hours before the check in. Room was spacious and nice warm shower.

They helped with us getting a tuk tuk on our departure to Hikkaduwa at a very fare price. Would highly recommend & next time in Unawatuna would return to stay with this lovely family.

Exceptional. The family owning the place was very kind and attentive. The room was clean and spacious, one of the best in Sri Lanka. It is walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. Definitely a 10 friends.

The host was particularly secretive of the wifi password which was weird. She pinned it into our phones and then when I asked for the code for my laptop I was questioned and never sent it. The mattress (I think it was just a piece of foam) was so very thin and felt like you were sleeping directly on the slats. The fan was manageable but the room did get quite warm as the sun hits it so this is something to bear in mind.

The room was clean and neatly presented. The daughter and mother welcomed us and thankfully allowed us to check in early. The location is great - only a 5-10 min walk to the beach. We appreciated the use of the balcony across the hall to dry our beach things!

I honestly liked this place the most of our stay but it did state there was air conditioning and only a fan, I slept well but my partner was quite warm

The space has been freshly redone and is very comfortable and clean, the owner had the room available for us and clean with a short minute booking and very happy we came here, right across the street to access of beach road and shops so nice to be off the main shop street but less then a minute and your there.
