Breakfast was not great - indeed, I was traveling in south Asia for five weeks and this was the only time my wife and I got queasy. We did not try the restaurant for other meals.

Very comfortable room, with a great view over the lake towards the historic center - Temple of the Tooth and Royal Palace area - which was also an easy walk from the hotel. Hotel team was very friendly and service-oriented. The hotel reception organized a great tuk tuk for us at a good price to see the entire city and nearby sites.

Super clean and nice room. The water takes a bit to get warm, but this is absolutely managable. I slept great and loved to have an actual blanket and not only sheets. Staff is super nice and breakfast was awesome. Can absolutely recommend!

The hotel is centrally located on Lake Kandy and close to all attractions. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The breakfast is exceptional and the rooms are of a high standard.

Here is a picture of my stay at the Devon Rest Hotel. It is a very nice, clean hotel. The breakfast was exceptionally good. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I loved the location of the hotel with the beautiful view. I would happily recommend it and would happily come back. And Akeela’s service was very good and she were very attentive and polite. 🤍

Great spacious v clean comfy room with lovely balcony overlooking the lake but very close to the main road which runs around the lake. It was very trafficky and it was hard to cross the road, as zebra crossings are ignored. Also difficult to walk along side of road with no side walk. If this doesn't bother you then it's a good room. Staff were friendly enough but not very personal. We waited over an hour for our room to made up after a long journey which wasn't ideal.

The hotel is well located in the middle of Kandy and our room had a view of the lake. Although it's near a main road we couldn't hear the traffic when the windows were closed-which is advisable to keep out any cheeky monkey who may otherwise wonder in! The room was a good size, as was the en-suite bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and it was good to have two armchairs in the room so that we could both relax to read or watch the news on TV. Breakfast and our evening meals were plentiful and delicious. The staff are attentive and friendly and they helped us to carry our luggage, which was greatly appreciated. Our trip to Sri Lanka was to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday and we had a wonderful surprise when we found a lovely chocolate birthday cake in our room, very kindly provided by the management. Kandy is very interesting to browse around and we greatly enjoyed our stroll round the lake where we saw lots of birds, ducks, fish and even two Water Monitor lizards, one of them about seven feet long. We greatly enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kandy.

Safe wouldn't allow us to set a new code since it wasn't reset, but informed the front desk and got sorted.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived with welcome drinks, to leaving early with an organised breakfast. Room was clean and pretty with an amazing view of the lake and Temple of the tooth which can be seen from the balcony. Very good location to the railway station, shopping mall for currency exchange and food/restaurants.
