Very nice hotel! The grounds are tastefully designed, and the dining area makes you feel like you're at an African lodge. The pool is very large and there are comfortable loungers. The room was very clean; we especially liked the outdoor shower. The service was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend the hotel!

The food at the restaurant wasn’t amazing but it was convenient for the location. There is a great spot ‘the garlic cafe’ a few mins walk out thats well worth checking out! The driver we booked through the hotel for our departure was the worst driver we had the whole trip. We are very relaxed about driving in Sri Lanka and sharing the road with so many other vehicles (and dogs!) but this guy had no care for anyone else, nearly hit many dogs, and cyclists! We were on edge the whole way. We think his name was Nirashan, just slow down. We don’t need to arrive fast, just alive.

This is a beautiful setting right by the river with so much wildlife right outside your door. The rooms are beautifully done and very comfortable. The outside bathroom can get a bit wild but it adds to the experience. We had such a wonderful evening safari organised via the accommodation. Our driver Santha was beyond excellent! He could spot a tiny lizard from miles away, and knew so much about the birds and animals. The elephants are beautiful and we never felt crowded or rushed. He knew we loved birds and specifically took us to spots to see as much as possible in the time. A big thank you to him!

This property is beautiful & the beds were comfortable. For those travelling with young children, just be aware that the wooden stairs, to them loft room, are very steep and the railings have large gaps. The pool was great.

The food was fine, but not fantastic.

The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. The accommodation itself was spacious and beautiful. The grounds, too were beautiful. A troop of monkeys caroused in the trees outside our bungalow just before we left. It was magical. The highlight was the safari - our guide could not have been more helpful and accommodating. We are birders and he went out of his way to find birds and other animals. He was very knowledgeable. Would definitely return.

I had read reviews about the food being not so good. We agree that the food wasn’t exceptional, but it was fine and plentiful. However, it was very expensive for what it was. 2 beers by the pool and basic dinner for four with a few more beers was as expensive as our stay. (About $65!) not a showstopper but not for the budget/value conscious traveller and did take a little of the shine off of our stay.

The property was as shown on booking .com. The family room and bathroom were really spacious and comfortable and had its own terrace which looked over the lovely pool. Really nice location, the dining area overlooked the river and the property had a lovely feel about it. Quiet and calm, off the national park “strip” but only 15 min away. We did not organise the safari with the hotel, but Buddika safaris collected us from the hotel no problem. (And gave us a great driver at the best price we found). We had made our hotel booking with them originally but the kids voted for a pool. It was definitely worth it to change the reservation for the pool.

The place is amazing, situated on the bank of a river, beautiful view from most rooms, rooms itself are masterpiece of woodcraft and architecture. Special thanks to hotel manager Mika, he made us feel really very welcomed, took care on every step! Took your chance to visit the place!

We stayed one night and it was amazing. The hotel premises make you feel like you're in a movie. The room we stayed in was beyond gorgeous with a balcony in the jungle. Everything was clean and spacious. The Manager knew everything and he was so helpful and the stuff is incredibly kind. They booked for us a safari on time and at a very good price. They also have a restaurant you can dine in. The pool is lovely and you can enjoy all day till the sunset. The breakfast has eggs mostly and toasted bread but big porportions. I totally recommend it. It's a gem! 💎 💎 💎

The accommodation is well located next to a river with a good view. Rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained with a very nice pool and restaurant/ breakfast area. The staff is super welcoming and helps with everything you need making this an incredible experience - special thanks to our German speaking waiter. Dinner and breakfast were very good and affordable. We booked a 4 hour safari as well as transport to the accommodation with them which both was very smooth and a great experience. Big recommendation!

One of the best places we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka. The view from our room was beautiful. The food in the restaurant was fantastic. The staff were really helpful and friendly. One of the staff took us on a nature walk which was really interesting. They also organised a safari for us picking us up from the hotel in the morning in a jeep supplied breakfast to take with us. Would highly recommend staying here.

- Mosquitos! But very much to be expected next to the river. - We ordered vegan breakfast but got cheese and mayonnaise on our sandwiches.

Amazing place and wonderful staff. The settings are so beautiful overlooking a river and surrounded by nature. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The pool is very clean and great for cooling off. The staff organised us a wonderful morning safari with packed breakfast. Food at the restaurant here is also very nice and reasonably priced. We have been in Sri Lanka for one month and I think this is the best place we have stayed. 10/10!

Some of the facilities could have been improved, eg we had two bedside lamps but neither of which could be plugged in anywhere near the bed. Also we would have benefitted from a mosquito net.

Beautiful setting surrounded by nature. The restaurant looks out over a river and the pool is an amazing bonus to have access to! The rooms are very spacious and modern, very comfortable.

Great base to go on a safari in Udawalawe! The hotel organised a tour for us which was great - just be aware there is a national park fee on top of the Jeep/guide fee charged by the hotel. Lovely pool area to relax in and very friendly staff too
