We liked the amazing view and the quiet location on the hill. Staff was very friendly and helpful with everything you need to do in Ella. Nature takes the hug of you here - birds,monkeys,cats.

When we arrived at Eminence we were warmly welcomed by Ekko who was generous, offered free breakfast and fruit juice. He was attentive, offered his help with all we needed. Even after we left he was available and helped us on WhatsApp. The best place to stay in Ella!

The view from the room is amazing. And the Service was perfect. They helped a lot with our demands. Breakfast will be served in front of the room. So we had a tasty breakfast with view. The rooms are simple but everything was ok. The location is quiete but near by the busy Ella.

The host at the guest house was fantastic. He made great suggestions about things to do in the area and was really helpful when we were booking activities and transport to our next place. His mum even held a cooking class for us free of charge, which was such a great experience! The location was fantastic as well and there were some really beautiful views! We had a brilliant stay and would highly recommend!

The location offers a breathtaking view, and guests can enjoy a real Sri Lankan breakfast on the terrace in front of their rooms, overlooking the lush landscape, the railway and magnificent waterfall and it is only 5 minutes walking distance from the downtown.

Amazing views across the waterfalls, train track and mountains. Aku was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and made us feel so comfortable during our stay. Aku and his mum provided us free breakfast and did our laundry for free too which was such a lovely touch. It is a short walk into Ella town, which is up a very steep hill but very doable.

The guy in charge was super helpful. He made restaurant reservations for us and gave us very useful tips about places to visit. On our check-out day, we had to leave by 2:45am in the morning. He prepared breakfast for our early morning trip, woke up at our check-out time and assisted us to carry the luggages down to the main road at that time of the day.

Don’t be put off by the road up to this place or the appearance from the approach road. It’s a beautiful set of rooms with stunning views You’d struggle to drive it if not confident and a tuc tuc wouldn’t make it!

Not that we didn’t like but be aware the property is up a bit of a hill- we like walking so didn’t bother us, PLUS taxis and tuk tuks can come up the hill, but just make sure you have the supplies you need (water snacks etc)

The staff are absolutely amazing. Nothing is an issue for them. They offer tea/coffee/fresh juice all day, said they’d do our laundry free of charge & they even organised a cooking class with their mum in their family kitchen and we got to meet the family & cook 4 curries together. They organise transport and help you with activities. Quiet and peaceful location. Highly recommend

Very steep hill, keep this in mind when booking.

Rooms were of standard and had all the facilities required for your stay. Breakfast was the best we have had on this trip so far, the smoothie bowls were devine. The hosts do your laundry free of charge which we were very grateful for! It was a quick walk to town, but the accommodation is up a very very steep hill, but they come and collect the luggage for you. The most amazing attractions of the accommodation is the views. You can see the train and waterfall and it is peaceful and relaxing (except when the train rolls by).😃

This was our best stay in 3 weeks of Sri Lanka. We booked three rooms, each had a stunning view! You can see a waterfall and the trains. It was very close to the train station, after a short walk up a steep hill you are there. The best part about our stay was the Manager Aku. He was a very kind and humble person, was always there for us and had many great recommendations for us. We had a great cooking evening with his family, his mother showed us typical Sri Lankan recipes. Breakfast was served directly in front of the rooms, which was very yummy by the way.

Incredible nice view- waterfalls, famous train route and the jungle. Just a view rooms which make the stay very familiarly. The host is so nice, he was available to answer any questions. He also organised us a taxi to our next accommodation.

To enjoy the great views, be aware that Eminence Ella is up a steep hill. We were happy with this and were glad we brought a torch with us for the short walk back in the evening. This is not a dislike. It is so worth the walk for the view!

The views from the terrace are fabulous. The generous hospitality of Aku is so good. He even made a lovely breakfast and offered to do our washing. The room was comfortable and the air con was good. Great value for money.

Not much to say. The stay was very nice taking the price in consideration. It's a petty that the entrance looks not so nice when the stay is good (we didn't care, but it leaves the very first impression a bit off.)

The host, Ake, was very friendly and helpful. The view from the rooms and the terrace is really stunning and with lots of beautiful birds. We saw chestnut-headed beeaters, common hawk-cuckoo, woodpecker, brown-headed barbet, sunbirds and red-vented bulbuls. The property is away from the road and quiet which is a bonus, however, still in a short walking distance from the city center. AC was working fine, the bath is the best we have tried on our 2 week trip to Sri Lanka and the breakfast is good.

Fantastic accommodation right in the centre of Ella and in walking distance from the train station. Exceptional service by the hosts and staff. They were always making sure everything was allright, giving tipps and recommendations regarding sights, restaurants and travel. Great brekkie in the morning with amazing views over Ella, waterfalls and the entire region.

I traveled to Ella with lovely wife and we stayed in this beautiful place. It's a little and cozy family hotel in silent place with perfect view on waterfall and railway. Breakfast with eggs, toasts and smoothy bowl was tasty. In additional, Aku (hotel manager) helped us to find unpopular places near Ella

This is a small family run business and we couldn't have been better looked after. Wonderful breakfasts and a wonderful view from the veranda - well worth the short walk up the hill to access the site. We would definitely recommend staying here.

10/10 isn’t enough for this place. The room was clean and spacious, and the view from the terrace was exceptional. The star of the show is the host Aku - he gave great recommendation for a place to eat, helped us with our hike up Ella Rock and even prepared us breakfast very early in the morning so we could catch our train and he walked us to the station and helped with onward travel when we got to Kandy. If they have space do yourself a favour and book here. Thanks Aku and team for a wonderful stay!
