Here is really good place to chill. Little bit out side of city center, but there is a short cut way ,so location is no problem. Surrounded by nature, always I can hear the voices of living thing. Room is also comfortable. The owner, Gihan always care about guests. I wish I could extend my stay here. I really recomend this place for people who want to stay relax.

Beautifully located in the hills, away from the busy streets of the city but still a 10' walk from town (via a shortcut through the tea fields). Hot shower and very pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious. Cute cat and dogs (maybe not so great if you're not a dog person). We felt that the peaceful scenery attracted the most interesting and friendly guests. One of our best stays in Sri Lanka.

One of my most favourite places I’ve ever stayed at. Chuti is an amazing host. Super kind and helpful. The hostel is located a little out of town up in the tea plantations and the view is just 😍 Breakfast, free water and tea all included!

Literally nothing

It was super clean and comfortable. It was nice to be a little out of center to enjoy the calmness and hearing the birds all night. City is reachable in 10 minutes by shortcut. I would pay double of the price for a stay like this, also because every night we cooked together and Giudi didnt wanted to charge anything. Giudi, the owner is the nicest person ever, he will help you with everything. You can even get a scooter there and while we spend time with him he showed us a lot of secret spots. Today he even bring us by car to the bus stop. Thank you for this incredible stay!

Absolutely nothing.

This was without doubt the best place I have stayed in Sri Lanka. The location is fantastic!!. A 10 to 15 min walk from the centre of Ella ( via a shortcut). This suited me. Waking up to the sound of nature each morning was so good. Tutti ( the owner) actually made the stay what it was. He is kind, welcoming and so chilled. He arranged two fantastic days out for me and two other guests. We even got to share time with his family. The breakfast ( although simple) was delicious; especially the freshly baked bread from a local bakery. I met some really nice travellors as well. Overall an awesome stay and would recommend. My favorite place in Sri Lanka! Came for 2 nights, ended up staying 10. And miss it every day :) Lovely quiet house in the tea fields, just 10 mins walk from the train station through a shortcut. Safe, great neighbours, nice helpful host, simple delicious breakfast, the cutest cat and dog. Also, met great other travelers there! It just felt at home. Accessibility became challenging during rainy weather, but this might be more of a weather-related issue than a drawback of the accommodation itself.

1. Living on plantations provided a unique and pleasant experience. 2. The local breakfast was delightful. 3. The host was exceptional, contributing to a wonderful stay. 4. The location is incredibly peaceful, making it easy to unwind. 5. Finding the home was convenient using Google Maps. 6. The view from the homestay was outstanding.

Great quiet place in the mountains. The house is located 10 minutes from Ella. From here you will have a very beautiful view. The owner cooks so well that he can open his own restaurant! I really liked the place and I hope to come back here.

I didn’t want to get into details for my rating, but after I received rude and abusive messages from the owner I decided to share my experience in more details! The owner doesn’t have a very stable personality. He might be very nice to you if he likes you but if for any reason (in my case he didn’t like where my parents come from !!) he doesn’t like you, he can get extremely rude , unfriendly and make your stay very uncomfortable or even give you some racist comments His poor English makes it very difficult to communicate with him, and I guess he gets some misunderstandings in some situations. Although I arrived as the first guest in that day I got the worst smallest room, which didn’t have even a door, I had to go through a window, inside the room had zero Wi-Fi connection, but even my local SIM card was not having any network , I was okay with the room but at the end, when he charged me the same price that he charged others who had three beds in their big rooms I was shocked. The bed was very uncomfortable. There was no sheets!! I used my sleeping bag. The owner was not helpful with any question and he was never present. I had to ask him over seven times to come and get the money because I wanted to leave . In the evening I needed something. I called him so many times and he didn’t answer , although he was in the room ! he could even hear two of us struggling to turn on the hot water but he didn’t come to help , then afterwards he came and said ‘oh we have hot water, I could hear you trying to turn it on !! ‘ as all hostels I’ve been in Sri Lanka were really nice , hospitable and made great experience, I think you should stay away from this Hostel to avoid any weird circumstances

I think my expectations were too high. I booked this because I thought the host is super friendly and fun from reading other reviews but didn't find that to be the case. While on the shortcut out to town I had a nasty fall which made hiking in and out of the hostel a pain and I could only rely on (overpriced) tuktuks.

Cute animals and a very chill vibe. Nestled in tea plantations which makes it very nice and quiet. Amazing hot toasts and omelette for breakfast.

In my opinion, somewhat overrated. The hostel is really nothing special and the room didn't even have a proper window. The location is in the middle of the tea plantation but also really far and the shortcut is hard to walk. I changed accommodation as soon as I arrived so I can't give any feedback on the breakfast.

location can be tricky for aged people as the road to reach the hostel is very difficult roads where public transport and personal cars can't reach easily (except for two wheeler), cannot go out after evening as it is dark and in mid of plantations, dog and cat can be found on all places in hostel leaving back their traces

relaxing surroundings in middle of tea plantations, super friendly and helpful host, meeting new people from around the world in the hostel, host rented his scooter for roaming around and prepared bread jam, tea coffee for breakfast

The guy there did me laundry twice throughout my stay and tried to cone me out of 3000 SLR on checkout claiming that it was not a free service , I refused to pay and he became very angry and I felt not safe and tried to contact local police
