Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWe could have stayed longer!
Dassa and all of the staff were super friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and spacious. Lovely pool and tranquil surroundings. Amazing curry dinners and lovely breakfast. Dassa helped plan every activity we hoped for. I could definitely have stayed longer. We highly recommend Into the Wild.

CroatiaRoom was missing some wardrobe space and lighting was very bright, with unusual light switch locations. Additional towel in the bathroom would be really usefull.
Wonderful resort in the middle of the forrest. Property is quite big, allowing you to use any corner to have your own peace, or mingle with the other guests. Pool was really nice and there is plenty of shade, if you are not sunbathing type. Food was excellent, big breakfast and wide variety of western and local food. Dinner local buffet was excellent, allowing us to taste the local curries. Staff was great, always present and helpful. We had an issue with the hairdryer and guys brought a new one as soon as we pointed out. The hike to the nearby temple, organized by the resort team was fantastic!

AustraliaWe absolutely loved how in nature we were within this property. The facilities were great and the staff were so helpful and friendly. My partner was sick and one of the staff members went above and beyond to make sure he had herbal tea’s and any medicine he needed.

United KingdomNowhere to walk to on your own e.g. to see sunrise/sunset (risk of elephant encounters at/after dusk), but grounds lovely to walk around and easy to arrange tuk tuks (eg Piduranfula for sunrise)
Friendly helpful team. Informative about local things to see/do and very helpful in arranging things even at short notice. Free guided hotel walk to sunset viewpoint and rock temple (pay to see /go through temple). Whole set of new bicycles available when I was there (didn't use but they looked great). Pool is wonderful and you can sit in a hammock in the garden and watch monkeys in the trees. The breakfast was the best I had in 3 weeks travelling round Sri Lanka. Room was clean and spacious. As a solo female traveller I liked the on site restaurant for dinner, especially as it was open air (under cover). Into the Wild is a very special place (I stayed 3 nights and could have stayed longer).

United KingdomOff the beaten track stay with wildlife all around. Unfortunately it was raining so we didn’t get to go in the pool but the staff are so friendly and have lots of tips to do in the area and can help with transport. Shout out to Dassa, Suresh and the rest of the team who made our stay so memorable.

United KingdomThe road to the property is very rough and wasn’t suitable for our Prius but they were happy to Tuktuk us to and from the main road. Driver accommodation available but not for us as we booked through trip advisor.
Lovely location tucked away ‘into the wild’ with great grounds and pool area. Room was nice and spacious and beds comfortable. Restaurant serves great food and service available all day.

The staff were so friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. We had a delicious dinner and breakfast! I just wish we could have stayed for longer!

AustraliaWe liked everything but your car driver may not be happy about the unsealed road on arrival. Our yuk tuk driver was fine with it but those unfamiliar with the area or concerned about their car may not be so happy.
Nestled amongst trees and bushes, the air is full of bird song. It is easy to relax on the ample balconies and take in the sense of thriving nature. The staff are all friendly and frequently laughing which creates a nice atmosphere. The pool was a welcome relief for sore legs after climbing rocks and stairs in the local area. Breakfast was enjoyable and we really enjoyed the spacious room and comfortable bed. We enjoyed our stay.

United KingdomWifi was really weak, so if you’re looking for somewhere to remote work this probably isn’t the place to stay. Restaurant music was loud and unnecessary at times, we much preferred the authentic Sri Lankan music!!
The pool space was great (hammocks and treehouse too) although a few more sun beds are needed. Having the restaurant was super convenient on evenings you didn’t want to venture far. The hotel really feels like it’s part of the jungle and the rooms are large and spacious!

AustraliaWhat could have been better: - The property is located on the edge of town, at the end for a dirt road. This means it is not really possible to walk to the main town, particularly after rain. However, the property is a 15-minute tuk tuk ride into the town, with drivers on site.
What we liked: - The property and its grounds are lovely. The area surrounding the pool has day beds, hammocks and bean bags, making it a great place to relax. - The staff were friendly and gave us useful recommendations regarding attractions. - We enjoyed the free breakfast, juice and tea provided by the property - it was one of the best we had in Sri Lanka.

CroatiaWe order the same food twice, the second time it wasn’t half good probably due to many people
The view from the room is great, staff is even better, the room is nice. We organized tours through the hotel using a car and a tuktuk, and they were fantastic! The driver was friendly, talkative, and very pleasant. However, we would maybe skip the visits to shops along the way next time.

AustraliaA tiny bit further out from the main town, but is an easy quick tuk tuk away - wasn’t really an issue for us :)
We absolutely loved our stay here and wish it was longer!! Our room was modern, clean, large and very Comfortable. The outdoor pool seemed very new and was a great feature. All around it are resting spots like hammocks, making the area have a great chill vibe. All the food we had here was amazing, even some of the best Pina coladas we’ve had ever!! A massive shoutout to the staff, everyone was SO welcoming and friendly, they even showed us how to play Carrom which was A LOT of fun. Suresh made us laugh a lot, so thank you 😂 Sandun was so helpful and approachable!! Also Bhagya was very friendly and always had a smile on her first.
