How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Unprofessional staff. Dhall in the black tea. No milk. Pool is not treated daily. Fungie in the pool. The bathroom sink water flows to the shower cubicle. Disgusting.

This hotel is a very dirty hotel with no cleanliness. There is no facility for the money. The rooms are very dirty and there are rooms with a bad smell. The water does not drain in the bathroom. You can never sleep with the sound of the fan. The working staff has no knowledge about social relations. This is my experience for one day. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

There was any WiFi working and was a little walk to town but nothing majorly bad.
The people were lovely they upgraded me and my friend to a better room and gave us a free breakfast. Such friendly people!! Would definitely stay there again if I return to kandy.

No problems.
Localisation, nice view. Since we stayed for one night we got an upgraded room with beautiful view. Everything was good, clean and nice. The rooms are a bit old (dirty walls) but OK.

The elderly gentleman who was acting in-charge should be taught some customer service. Probably retired from the military. Not at all suitable for a frontline customer service role. This is not only based on my bad experience. But also what I observed whilst checking in with regards to two other customers.
The young male employee(a new hand as I was told) is commendable.

It appeared that there was no maintenance. The locks in the rooms are broken and some windows cannot be locked. Because of this, I had to change the room I originally took. But the shower in the new room was also broken. Hot water only worked on the first day. Also they charge more than what they show on the app. People who are looking for a room that fits their budget feel uncomfortable because of this. It is wrong to attract people by showing less price.
THE ONLY GOOD THING IS THE FRIENDLINESS OF THE TWO PEOPLE WORKING THERE.

Nice and clean hotel with a pool in a Kandy center, just 15-20 minutes walking to the main temple. Quiet area and wonderful view from the room. And the staff is really nice and helpful.

Everything about the place
Nothing Once we reached to the hotel. They are charging separatly for the Air Conditioner. Looks like place is not sutable to stay for family and additional charge for useing the Pool. This is disgrace for the booking.com also. You should remove such hotels from your platform.

Verry bad room they give me. Linnen are not clean fan is not working.. And booking.com price is dollars 5.40 but they charge rs 2500 per room.... .. Verry bad custormer service ....

Nothing. Everything was great
Super beautiful, hidden away up in the hills of Kandy. They upgraded our room from budget to deluxe which was more than we could have asked for. The owners are super kind and accommodating. The rooms are clean and spacious and have amazing views over Kandy. For the price and what you are getting it’s 10/10. Would 100% recommend if staying in Kandy!

The pool on the pics was empty... and the hotel's restaurant was closed. So instead of a quite nice hotel, it was a quite poor one. Also, the room was humid all the time, even though the windows were open.. we don't recommend it.
