The staff at laughing leopard were very nice and friendly. They helped me to plan my two days I stayed there and I had a great time. Family dinner was yummy! The social aspect of this hostal is very good as they have a common area where everyone can sit to talk to others and play games. I was a little hesitant about staying at this hostal because people said it was a party hostal. I would describe it more as a social hostal rather than party hostal. I was going to bed around 10pm and it was absolutely fine, not very loud at all. And the beautiful Labradors was a plus!

If you’re scared of dogs, I don’t recommend. But they’re very cute

A very aesthetic and comfortable hostel, located in a place with close proximity to touristed hotspots and the center of town. Amazing atmosphere, incredible staff, and in general one of the best guesthouse experiences we’ve had in our 1 month trip in Sri Lanka. The best hostel I’ve ever stayed in

Such a cheap owner and staff who racially profile people. When I went there first time the owner was there and allowed me to stay. Next next time when I went with a Chinese friend the staff was telling that they will allow the Chinese to stay but not srilankans. I then wanted to talk to the owner through phone he was acting like he was not able to hear me properly (but when staff called he clearly answered) .In few minutes out of nowhere a so called volunteer(non srilankan) appeared in front and offered me a room instead of a hostel bed for 4 times the price. I said I just want a bed and I have already stayed. He was like that's what my boss told me. It is illegal to racially profile or accommodate people according to ethnicity. This hostel is running illegally. Authorities should take strong action against these people.

Didn’t feel well organised, too too laid back in terms for accomodating for guests ; bedroom smelt and was mouldy, some were given towels and some guests none. No proper blankets for such cold temperatures. Straight away techno music blasting in the morning hours

Now that I am back to my place and I can gather myself to write, I will. Staying at Laughing Leopard has been one of the best stay experiences of my life. The rooms are clean, spacious, and have proper ventilation. Washrooms are clean, the common area is where memories are made and its enough to accommodate 20 people at a time. Made a lot friends there, some of them for a lifetime (hopefully 🤞) A special mention for the fur babies that never let you feel alone The hosts were nothing short of amazing, we played tons of card games but the highlight has to be the carrom game with Era, Vidush, and other guys. I have mixed feelings about going to this place again. Yes, I love the place but not being able to see all those people that I spent 3 days with is going to feel like a huge void 🥹

Location was a bit of a hike from town. But I love walking so it doesn’t bother me. Lockers could have been bigger.

Nice property with nice gardens. The dogs were lovely and friendly. The staff were great and helpful too. The dorm room was great and big. I didn’t bother using the lockers. My sleep was really good. Night life was fun and very social. The convenience shop just west of the property had everything I needed to cook with. Especially eggs for breakfast. Nice big kitchen. They go big cook ups for dinner.

booked one night and ended up staying for 5 days. truly one of the best hostels I’ve been in, felt like home from the first minute we walked in. Everything was great- dinner, dorms, cleanliness, bar and the staff is making this place amazing. thank u:)

I booked with breakfast but they denied due to ownership change/ policy change, but they didn't update me earlier. When I asked it they simply asked me cancel the booking if I am not satisfied with their answer. Some what embarrassing reply I got it.

At this cost it is okay to stay and location also good as a solo traveller.

I would say this was the best hostel I've stayed at so far on my trip to Sri Lanka. Very social. The owner is super nice and tried to get everyone to join in some games in the evening and makes everyone feel welcome. The breakfast and dinners were also very nice. I also left my jumper behind and the owner helped organise someone to bring it with them to the destination I was at which was super helpful.

When we arrived the owner was already drunk . He loves the Arrack . Spend 2 nights there, wouldn’t recommend to staying in laughing Leopard. The second night 4 people want to party so he kept playing loud music until 3 and didn’t care about the other guest .

Not recommended if you really want to sleep before midnight or you don't like beer in the common areas.

Friendly, cozy hostel with a nice fire pit, well-loved dogs, beautiful artwork, and good music. The wifi was surprisingly great. I was able to do video calls for work here, no problem. (And the Dialog 4G signal was strong too.)

I have stayed in many hostels, but Laughing Leopard was the best among all of them. Robert and Ash were very friendly and helpful. The place was clean, and the vibe was good. I will be coming back to Laughing Leopard very soon. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a hostel in Nuwara Eliya.

Absolutely nothing to complain…

Excellent Hostel with wonderful people. It’s a very social place with an amazing atmosphere. Hash and Robert are perfect hosts who do everything they can to bring people together and make them feel good. I stayed two days longer than planned and I would definitely come again. Thanks guys.
