We had an amazing stay at Liyon's Rest. The location is perfect for visiting Sigiriya, the accomodation is exceptionally clean and in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The family are so friendly, we felt so welcome during our time at Liyon's Rest, they were willing to help with anything needed. They arranged a safari for us which was great, we had a really good driver who made sure we got the best views and avoided us being caught up in the jeep jams! The food (breakfast and dinner) was the best we've had in Sri Lanka so far, freshly prepared by the family. We'd loved to have stayed longer!

Fabulous place with a beautiful edible garden. A lovely welcoming family who provide the best food and help for anything you need. We had a very relaxing stay and loved sitting on our veranda enjoying the garden after all our climbs. Fully recommend as a great relaxing base for exploring the area and Lakmal can assist with any travel needs or activities in the area. We hope to be back one day to visit this very special place again! Thanks Lakmal, Shelly and family for a great stay.

Lakmal and his family were super nice and gave us several recommendations. On top of that, our host drove us through Polonnaruwa and to other sights in Sigiriya. Breakfast and dinner was delicious and with great variety (two nights - two different traditional sri lankan breakfasts and dinners). Moreover, the garden was incredible with a diversity of fruits :)

this place was incredible! perfect location close to sigiri and pidurangala rock, great comfortable and very clean room. Lakmar the host and his family did above and beyond to give us the best stay and helped us with every small thing. there was a small leak in our toilet, and they took care of it right away. Highly reccomend!

Lakmal and his family were super nice. If you really want to connect with the nature, this is the best place to stay. The location is very close to Lion's rock and Pidurangala rock. I really wish I had enough time in Sigiriya, I would have stayed in Liyon's Rest for longer.

we loved how comfortable the room, and beautiful the landscape was and that it felt remote even though we were only 5 mins from the town centre and lion rock! The hosts went above and beyond to welcome us into their family and ensure that we maximised our time so see as much as we could. we were even driven by the family when no taxi could come. I highly recommend this stay!

The room had a mosquito in it and even though there was a mosquito net, I was being bitten by it non stop underneath my blanket. Finally I had to change my clothes and spray my hands and feet. Also would recommend a bigger rug in the room so that people can sit on the ground to meditate or do any yoga. Also, the food could have been better. Beer was available at night time but there were no healthy options. I recommend the hosts get herbal teas.

The hosts were spectacular. Always bending for any of our requirements and requests. They also drove us to the hike and picked us up when we were done. They arranged our cars for the next location. I really enjoyed Lakhmal.

Really beautiful accommodation in a lovely quiet setting. We were surrounded by nature and it was super relaxing. The rooms are spotlessly clean with really comfy beds. We had a lovely dinner on one night too and it was delicious. The owners are really friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this for an enjoyable stay in Sigiriya.
