Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainI booked one night only but I decided to stay one night more as I felt immediately welcomed in the resort! The family who runs this new business is very keen to making it work and everything was smooth: they give you a welcome drink, well prepared towels and flowers in the room and they refuel you with a very large breakfast! Water and teas always available! The swimming pool makes a difference in the 34 degrees of Sigiryia after climbing for hours! The resort is 5 minutes walking distance from the main road so during the day is fine but in the night you have to consider a Tuk Tuk as it in the middle of the jungle and there may be wild animals you want to avoid! The resort provides drop off and pick up to the main road until 10pm! They also organise safaris in the evening or sunrise! Special thanks to Rajapaksa: next time I’ll come back again to try your egg hopper 🙃

United KingdomThere was no fridge in the room so I couldn't keep my drinks cold. I also didn't like there wasn't a clear window to see through, but apart from a field behind, there's not much of a view. Also the wildlife as you would expect are rather noisy at night and so are some dogs. Also I had 2 options for double or triple room but when I went to book only triple was available. Yet only 2 out of the 4 rooms were full.
The room was clean and very spacious, large bathroom too. Air-conditioning and fan. I loved the pool, it was nice to relax after the climb at Lion Rock. The owner was very accommodating and kindly dropped me to the ticket office on the morning of my climb! It was a 5 minute walk down a mostly dark path at night, my light on phone helped. Felt completely safe, but beware there is a wild elephant roaming but I didn't meet it during my stay! There is an option to ride an elephant close by, if you so wish. Sri Lankan Breakfast was lovely and good choices. It's a new resort, opened in January. I wasn't sure about dinner options but I walked 8 mins to the main road, to the left and on another recommendation on here went to Pradeeps Restaurant where I had a huge wonderful Sri Lankan curry. Service was so good I went back for more the next night. There's also a spa down the road from Pradeep, Spaserendib. Great massage! It's a great base to be near Lion Rock and a few restaurants nearby.

United KingdomNeed more sun beds round the pool
The location is perfect for climbing Sigiria rock-about twenty minutes walk away. It is a new hotel, and though there are things to improve (extra sun beds round the pool, for example, which have been promised), all in all this is a great place to stay. Plus they are constantly asking for suggestions to improve, so that is great.

United KingdomSituated by rice fields, it was a nice walk along the lane to the main road where there were plenty of restaurants within 10 minutes. Rice and curry at Pradeep Restaurant was excellent. Well located for climbing the rocks. Nice pool but only 2 sunbeds so far that are in need of mattresses. Breakfast was served in a strange order but they will not leave you hungry and are really keen to please and keep bringing more food out. Nice fruit platter. Good air con and hot shower except when there was a power cut and the generator was off. There was a wild elephant in the lane one night which was exciting! A fridge in the room would be welcome and a second bedside table

United Kingdom- Walking to and from the property is impossible with heavy rain. The property did pick and drop me off to the main road during my stay. - The room could have more facilities (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and bottled water). - Towels could be changed regularly and some provided for the pool side.
- Staff are wonderful. They will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and really take care of you. - Breakfast was the best I had during my 3 week stay in Sri Lanka. - Room is comfortable and clean. - Pool area is well kept. - Plug in mozzie repellent which is vital in Sigiriya.

PolandThere were quite a lot of ants and mosquitos in the room, but beds are equippt with mosquito nets ;)
Great location, close to the city, although to access the property you need to go a short distance through some woods (if you decide to walk flashlight recommended). Good breakfast with variety of local dish to try.

United KingdomThe road up to the property is still being made and due to recent rain was impassable by local TikTok’s and taxis. This results in needing a lift from the hotel lads to and from the village as it was also not walkable particularly at night as no lights and puddles/mud and insects everywhere.
This is a beautiful little hotel located in stunning surroundings. The room and bathroom had been recently renovated and as such had an electric shower, so lots of hot water. The family that run the hotel are lovely, rooms are spotless and free breakfast is good. Insect net provided for the bed which is absolutely necessary. Beautiful pool to relax after a hot day climbing. Gorgeous dogs around to cuddle if you are missing yours!

United KingdomMaybe provide some soap in the bathroom
This new hotel has only been open several weeks - the family running it are so friendly and helpful There is a lovely swimming pool which unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to try. We slept really well in a very comfortable bed - there is the choice too of aircon or a fan - we chose the fan which was great - there is an electric plug in anti - mosquito repellent and a mosquito net - we struggled to get hot water from the shower in the amazing large brand new bathroom - our stupidity as we didn’t spot the immersion heater switch outside the bathroom door !! Once switched on we were sorted to a realy good hot shower The access road is a ‘work in progress’ which we even saw improve in 24 hours - probably will be sorted in next week or two ! It is walking distance to the entrance to Sigiriya Rock which you can see from very close by too - Would highly recommend this place The rooms are very big Breakfast was v good too Praneeth helped us arrange a taxi on to our next destination too at an affordable price

United Kingdom100% positive review
Cannot rate this family-run place highly enough! From the staff who cannot do enough for you, are happy to help and open to suggestions (they have only been open 10 days), to the incredibly clean, beautiful, comfortable rooms with an insanely huge shower room with hot water jet shower and views of the beautiful surrounds (it is on the national park boundary). A massive Sri Lankan breakfast is included and changes each day but they are also happy to adjust according to your preference. The pool is lovely, cleaned daily and has lights into the evening so you can take a swim at times to suit you. Lions Rock can be seen from the end of the road (5-10 mins walk) with only a few metres further to the restaurants/bars. The lovely staff will drop you/arrange transport if you need it. Not a negative because they already have plans to improve it, but be aware that at the moment, the road to the resort is yet to be fully developed and in heavy rain can be difficult to navigate. However, as mentioned, the staff will transport you if this becomes an issue. This place is an absolute gem! We feel so lucky to have been amongst the first guests. We are sure that this business is going to continue to go from strength to strength and we wish them all the success in the world. Thank you for being fabulous hosts! 💖
