The hotel is very near the town center but with views over the rice paddies. The Sri Lankan dinner was excellent. Mangeress/owner was vey very helpful, couldn´t do enough for us.

The balcony is shared which means sharing any cigarette smoke from your neighbour.

Lovely place to stay to experience the friendliness of the Sri Lankan people. This is a simple guest house with hotel like rooms which are large, comfortable, equipped with air con and have a beautiful balcony view over open rice fields. The meals served were fabulous! Rooms are quiet as place is off the main street. Short walk to shops and walk along the lake or "tank" as they're called to see locals swimming and doing washing. Hosts are very happy to help with booking anything. And if you're lucky you may see the very large monitor (lizard) who lives nearby!

Nothing - absolutely perfect.

Really cannot recommend this Guest House more. We had the warmest, kindest welcome from our hostess, who took care of our every need, including a welcome drink and organising a safari. The room was airy, spacious, and very comfortable with panoramic views of the paddy fields. The ancient city is right next door with good local restaurants (recommend Dineshi for good local food). The dinner we had was easily the best food we had during our trip. All home cooked, all absolutely delicious. The feast included jackfruit, okra, banana flower, sambal, chicken curry, beans - just to name a few. The breakfast was delicious. If you are thinking about where to stay, don't hesitate to book here - you won't regret it. And above all, don't miss out on dinner - it's exceptional!

Excellent guesthouse - perfect location to access the ancient city. Breakfast at guesthouse was great - loved the evening meal, the host is a great cook - the food was delicious. They have bicycles you can rent. Situated within a few minutes to the ticket office for your entry ticket. Room was big and the bed was very comfy. Would definitely recommend

A fantastic 2 night stay at the delightful Man Guest. Tucked away off the main road ( making it nice and quiet), with lovely views from the verandah of our room across Paddy fields. Super clean and very comfortable bed. Superb hospitality by Nilisha and her husband. This included a welcoming tray of tea delivered to our verandah, lots of information on local safaris, and bike rental to access the ancient city. We can also highly recommend Nilisha's fantastic cooking. We enjoyed an amazing chicken curry with 10 accompanying dishes for dinner. So do make sure you stay for dinner.

Clean, quiet, and safe. Lovely balcony views overlooking vivid paddy fields. The wife and husband who greeted us were very helpful and friendly. Man View is very convenient to the ancient city and to places to get a bite to eat or something from the pharmacy, etc. They lent us bikes to explore and offered transportation onward. The price was excellent. We would happily stay here again.

We booked the last room on the corridor and we had the great surprise of a stunning view from the room on the rice paddy. We had good breakfasts and dinners, the lady is a good cook and she is very nice, always smiling. They organised a guide for the archeological park and a driver to see two natural parks, both very good. It is very near the archeological park, we decided to hire a bike but better a tuk tuk, our bikes were old with very hard saddle... specially is you spend the full day riding. Visit museum first, then you can stay in the park when the guide finish.... To enter again I had to ask everybody and eventually to the manager! In summary, it is a very good place to stay!
