Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe location is amazing. The people in the hotel was really nice, all the time trying to fulfill all our needs. The food was amazing, typical dishes and not typical ones, everything was delicious. We also do some activities, a walking through the rain forest and it was so fun, our guide Danushka, show us everything! This is one of a kind hotel, if you want some relax time, combine with some adventurous activities this is your hotel.

Peaceful location, all the staff were really lovely. Hotel arranged a guide to take us to Mannakethi waterfalls which were only 15 minutes away. The waterfalls were really beautiful, we had a swim in the natural pool and were the only people there. The hotel also provided us with transport and safe driver to our next stop Nuwara Eliya.

GreeceIt’s a shame the dining area is closed and a little too cold in air conditioning. I think I prefer nice open air dining spaces as the weather was so lovely. Please invest in some soft pads under the heavy dining chairs so the noise of sliding the chairs over the beautiful wooden floor is reduced.
This is a beautiful property set amongst a stunning rain forest location but still close to the main town. The food was excellent and the rooms comfortable and as described. The staff were efficient. The team were very responsive on WhatsApp and were well prepared for our arrival. The gardens were beautiful .. sadly we didn’t have time to stay longer.

United KingdomTours were pricy, laundry was very expensive.
Great Stay with Lovely Amenities but Pricey Extras We had a very nice stay at this hotel. The room was tidy, the swimming pool was well-maintained, and the natural pool was a unique and refreshing experience. Both breakfast and dinner were quite good, with a decent variety of options to enjoy. The hotel offers a range of activities, which is convenient, but we found them to be quite expensive compared to booking directly with local providers. Similarly, the laundry service was overpriced and charged in dollars, which was unexpected. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with great facilities, but some of the additional services felt overpriced.

United StatesEverything perfect
This property vastly exceeded our expectations! Like staying in the middle of an extensive and artfully designed tropical botanical garden with a picturesque creek running through it. Amazing that this high level of accommodation can be offered in such a remote location. Beds were of the finest quality and by far the best during our 2 week holiday. Food was worthy of a Michelin star. Staff was plentiful and eager to please. A solid 10 and highly recommended. Do not miss the magical paved jungle walking path all along the creek where you can safely swim in many spots.

SwitzerlandThe only thing that we didn‘t like was, that there were not enough sun chairs. Only 8 in total which is not enough for 8 rooms.
We loved everything about our stay! The staff was super friendly and very caring. The food was incredible and the hotel absolutely beautiful! Very clean, comfy bed, amazing location, nice pool area and a natural pool as well. We would definitely come back any time!

United StatesNote that there are stairs, and no lift. Can be an issue for people with mobility issues. They need you to order your meal in advance, and quite insistent on this. I understand why, but they do this even prior to arrival, which is confusing. Would be nice if they offered a tea-time snack as part of their routine service, but if you ask they do provide it.
Exactly as depicted, a beautiful lodge in the middle of the forest. Excellent food, and very friendly staff. A truly relaxing stay immersed in nature. They help to arrange a good guide for a nature walk. The menu, at first glance, is very heavy on European / Western food (pizza, pasta, tapas), which are fine but not exceptional. Go with the Sri Lankan menu options. You won't be disappointed.

United Arab EmiratesWe stayed 3 nights at Moksha, the property itself was great, the bedrooms were very modern, clean, great a/c and amazing views from the balcony. The hotel organized transport and guided walk to one of the waterfalls nearby and a hike in the rain forest, which we recommend. The staff were very friendly and available to assist without being overwhelming. The breakfast was exceptional, we also had all our meals at the hotel and had a different menu every night.

GermanySome of the fixtures in the room were a bit run-down, which is understandable considering the climate and rural location. If you're looking for the very most modern luxuries, this is probably not the place for you. However, if you love the outdoors and being immersed in a unique, beautiful rainforest, then I can only recommend it. We had an amazing and unforgettable time here.
Staying here is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You're literally in the heart of the rainforest, but with the comforts of air conditioning and kind, attentive service from the extremely accommodating staff. Lush beauty and wildlife all around. The natural pool is amazing and not to be missed. The hotel offers outdoor activities (rafting, canyoning, guided hikes, etc.). We did rafting and a guided hike - both awesome and quite adventurous! The kitchen staff prepared delicious meals to order, and were flexible with our special requests (getting a packed breakfast for the day trip). Everyone took really good care of us.

United Arab EmiratesI honestly had a really good experience. I got exactly what I expected. If I am pushed, I will say the leeches (tiny ones) which you only encounter when you do the rain forest hike.
Thanks to these wonderful people: Chefs Sampath, Manual and Thanuka - the food was tasty the presentation beautiful and the quality exceptional. The farm to plate concept fulfilled. Chamila - what a great trek through the rainforest was exactly the experience I wanted. The rivers and waterfalls were calming, relaxing and thanks for bringing me so close to nature in a safe and secure way. Great stories and jokes made the walk easier too. ALL the waiters made my day every day. Helpful, considerate and kind. Big smiles, courteous. Leant my preferences immediately and never missed a beat. Exactly the type of service one appreciates when on a relax, retreat and refresh type of holiday. Danushka & Lahiru thank you for preparing my room for my arrival and for respecting the DND on my door throughout my stay. Weerasinghe I hope many guests appreciate and understand the amount of time it takes for you to painstakingly lay those very many stones/tiles on the hotel grounds. Loved talking to you about cricket too. Shesha the matriarch! You run a tight ship. Your professionalism, calm demeanour and the way you explain everything to manage guests' expectations is admirable. I'll miss our random laughs and giggles. Stephen the contracted driver for my airport transfers - safe and professional drive. What did I like? everything. This is the perfect place to come when you need to be alone, relax, write a book and appreciate nature. My most active moments were river rafting, riding the cute tuk-tuks and hiking through the rainforest.

EgyptThat I couldn't say longer
We spent 3 nights at Moksha and I have to say it truly exceeded all our expectations. The rooms were super comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful. The chef team (Sampath, Thank, Manila and Sumudu) were amazing, we told them one time about a something we ate in the market while in Colombo and they made us that dessert for dinner that same day. That's how far and beyond they went for us and every day since they would make us special treats not even on the menu. We did so many activities as well so it wasn't just that the hotel was wonderful but there was so much to do around the area. We went zip lining, canyoning, white water rafting and waterfall abseiling and it was all arranged by the hotel with a very well trained team. I can't recommend this hotel enough to anyone who's looking to just relax or for adventure or a bit of both. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
