Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomIt was a little bit far from Ella town . However, it was very easy to get a tuktuk from the main road.
Our hosts were exceptional, my friend had an accident before reaching Ella which needed medical attention and the hosts were kind enough to take us to the hospital. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt looked after. The rooms were very spacious and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was tasty and they offered a quick laundry service.

SwitzerlandThe room was rather small, but sufficient for us two (and completely ok for the price!). Its a bit away from Ella town, which was for us more a plus though. The room has a small part of the wall above the window open, for light sleepers maybe not ideal, for us fresh air all night :) (we didnt have any moskito bites).
Very good food and super nice hosts. You feel welcomed and cared about from the heart. Breakfasts and dinner one of the best we had in Sri Lanka. We stayed 4 nights and would do so again! Very good value for money, especially for Ella. The homestay has no sign. Use google map and its the house with the laundry service sign.

New and clean facility. The host who lives on the property was welcoming, friendly, & willingly to please. He provides meals & rides in his tuk-tuk for a fee.

RomaniaThe room and the bathroom were very dirty. The upper part of the windows is not covered with anything. So you hear absolutely everything that happens outside and vise verso. Even it is possible to enter some animals from there.The wifi was not working. Hot water was not working well
The location is nice. Close to ella Town. It is located in a quiet area. Breakfast was very delicious. Nice and helpful hosts
