We loved this little guesthouse! The room was very comfortable with the most stunning view of the hills and waterfall from the balcony. It was so nice to sit on the balcony reading a book and enjoying the view. It was a very quiet and relaxed place. The location was also good - about 10 mins walk outside Ella along the train track. Much nicer to be a bit outside Ella, as the restaurants and bars are busy and loud. Finally the staff were amazing! So friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast was delicious!

Fantastic landscape view to the waterfall and the surrounding valley, good rooms, very good and plenty of breakfast and amazing and friendly employees, helping with tours, information, low cost transportation, carrying luggage, take away sandwiches early in the morning on departure day instead of breakfast, 10 minutes walk along the railway tracks to Ella center, and availability on whats app for any inquiries.

This is an amazing place in every way. First of all, the guys who work there are amazing, very helpful, great cooks, they take care of the place and the people. We arrived very late, around 9pm, and it was no problem for them and they cooked us dinner. In addition, this beautiful balcony with a wonderful view and the sounds of nature in the evening. We sat on the balcony until late in the evening. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely stay there when I am in Sri Lanka.

Breathtaking views, great place to stay if your goal is to get up and go and not sit around the hotel all day. Very close to Ella Rock. Don’t pay more then 500Rs for a Tuk-Tuk to Little Adams Peak.

The Rock Grand View in Ella is a small Hotel with 3 rooms. The rooms are most comfortable, clean, and the view from the balcony is breathtaking. The home-made breakfast was the best we had in Sri Lanka and the stuff is extraordinary friendly. The hotel can be reached easily by TukTuk and you can also walk next to the rail to Ella center in less than 10 minutes. Thanks a lot for the hospitality! We will definitely come again and bring more time to enjoy this beautiful house and friendly environment!

Nothing to complain about.

We enjoyed the great view from our room and balcony at a waterfall and Ella Rock very much. Eyerthing was there, Shampoo, Towels, Coffee and Tea for a hot Drink, Mosquito Net, Fan, Hairdryer and the bed was comfortable. The Place is quite, but central. We walked on a path next to the railway to Ella in 10 Min. Ramesh explaind us the way to the Nine Arche Bridge, the little Adams Peak and Ella Rock. For a Tour in the Tea factory he organised us a Tuktuk and to get to our next Stay a Driver. Breakfast was Great Webers morning. Nice Place to stay in Ella!

Not as close to the city center as I had hoped. Walking to town isn’t really an option. Hotel offered food but it was very simple, nothing to write home about. Also, it only accepts cash but is not close to an ATM.

A small guest house with 3 rooms in a stunning location and I would highly recommend you are up to watch the sunrise over Ella Rock from the balcony one morning. Dumidu is super friendly and will do everything to make your stay special including drawing a map of the route to Ella Rock and preparing fantastic food. It is only a short walk into town along the railway line where you have the busy main road and bars and restaurants to hand although we had one of the best Sri Lanka curries of our trip at Grand View so no need to venture out after a hard days hiking if the legs are tired.

Some early morning / late night noise from the train but we didnt mind at all. Very slight damp smell that we found in a few of the places we stayed on our trip.

Loved our room.. it was decorated beautifully and very comfortable and spacious with a great balcony. We loved the view out to the mountains and waterfall too! The staff were super helpful and the breakfast was a great start to the day. If you are there to see the train you will love that this property is literally a hop skip and a jump from the tracks.. you can train watch or walk into town on the tracks very quickly.

Don’t under estimate this place. Room had everything one might need including one of the comfiest beds and powerful showers so far in Sri Lanka. The room we stayed in had a fantastic view of Ella rock and a waterfall. It’s a very easy walk into Ella along the rail way tracks (this is normal in Ella I promise). Staff wanted to do as much as they could to make the stay at the hotel and time in Ella as enjoyable as possible.

Clean and cosy room with a beautiful view from the balcony, and hot shower. Wonderful team that made our stay just perfect, they even drafted a small map to show us the way to Ella Rock. Very tasty local breakfast! We can only recommend this place!

Room wasn’t cleaned over our 3 night stay

The view! The location is fantastic… just outside of town enough to feel peaceful and secluded but an easy 10 min walk down the tracks to all the action. Waking up to the sound of the waterfall and peacocks was just heaven. The room was comfortable and spacious and sitting on the balcony a joy. The staff are fantastic and helped with laundry, guides as to walking up Ella rock and organised a taxi for us to move on. Breakfast is a real spread and was different each morning.. fresh and delicious

The view from balcony was breathtaking! Hotel is very close to Ella center by walking from the train line. We liked breakfast very much. And the most important thing Ramesh(owner) helped us to organize our trip in Ella. He also gave such good advises for everything very kindly🙏

Hot water in the shower was an issue during the stay and could be improved for added comfort. Additionally, having meals available for lunch and dinner would greatly enhance convenience

The view from the hotel is absolutely stunning, providing a peaceful and comfortable stay. The room is basic, but it meets all the essential needs and is completely overshadowed by the affordable price and the warm hospitality of the staff. Host Ramesh is a kind and caring individual, always ready to assist with a smile. The breakfast was exceptional—truly one of the best I’ve ever had. The hospitality was second to none. Amazingly friendly and helpful booking tuk-tuks and giving advice on trips etc. The breakfast is epic, you won’t need to eat until dinner time. The room was great with a fantastic view. We absolutely loved it here and highly recommend it! It’s a short, cheap and fun filled tuk tuk journey from Ella town. Thank you guys for a super stay

Everything was outstanding. Our corner room had fabulous views, it was comfortable (especially appreciated the portable fan) the breakfast was excellent (wished they would serve dinner too) and the staff was attentive and helpful. The walk down the railroad tracks to town was part of the adventure. We loved everything!
