Cool Treehouse in the middle of nowhere. Nice little pool, decent food and nice people. Away from the crowds this is a very tranquille place

Expensive if you compared it with other options in Sri Lanka. Few menu options. You are sleeping in the nature in a wood house so during the night you can listen different animals and strange sounds. For us was not a problem, but if you are not used to it can be uncomfortable.

Amazing tree house near Sigiriya Rock and Piludangara hike. Nice views in the middle of the nature.

We didn't stay long enough.

This is quite a unique but very beautiful hotel. We stayed only one night but it was so lovely. The staff were so kind. The room was amazing and unique with a view of the Lion's Rock which in the morning was quite astounding. The outdoor bathroom was amazing. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and served in a lovely dining area. The Lion's Rock is not far away and can be visited in the early morning.

One of the best places we’ve stayed in our 6 months of travelling! - The location of the hotel is remote, but very tranquil and beautiful. We loved the silence and the mesmerizing landscape. - The rooms are spacious and very clean! We felt incredibly comfortable and also enjoyed the big outdoor bathroom. The shower pressure was excellent, which is quite rare in Asia, and the water was hot. - The pool is beautiful, with a good temperature, and is cleaned very often. - Lastly, the man who was the only staff member on the ground when we visited, was so kind and welcoming. He cooked amazing food for us and always met us with a smile. We really enjoyed your company! All in all, our stay was an unforgettable experience and I’d recommend it to anyone who’s considering. Thank you!

The chalet was really cute and private. It was great to watch the starts from the chalet and wake up to the sound of nature. Nice swimming pool to refresh after a long day out. The guy working at the property and preparing us breakfast is also very welcoming:)

The road to this accomodation is very remote and a bit rough. The accomodation itself is a bit difficult to find.

The accommodation had the most stunning view. The people working there and the owners were friendly and helpful. We had a wonderfull time. The food was delicious. The room and outside bathroom were pretty and clean.

There was nothing I have to complain.

This is cozy chalet with modern facilities the view from our rooms of the Sigiriya and Pidurangala Rock was priceless. Anura was welcoming and we had the opportunity to meet the owner and his family we celebrates the Sinhala and Tamil New Year with the other guest and the family.

Would be nice if you could buy a drink at the hotel as it an amazing place to have a beer during sunset.

The hotel is quite far from Sigriya and some drivers found it difficult to find as there are not many signs. Also it would be nice to place some sunbeds at the swimming pool.

Our host Nuwan was extremely helpful and made our stay at Rock Shade the best in Sri Lanka so far. The hotel is brand new and the rooms are really beautiful. The staff helped arranging our tuk tuks and the safari tot Ecopark (which was great). Also Nuwan made great breakfast and even a fantastic dinner when we arrived at the hotel late.

The pool has no sunbeds, so it was not to comfortable to lay/sit there and the dogs were quite loud but that’s Sri Lanka I guess :)

The Charlet is a little bit outside of civilization, but it was a special experience. You need a tuk tuk to get to places, but the staff organized everything, even to get to the lions rock and back :) the room was super clean and the bathroom too. we had warm water.

Absolutely lovely place to relax and enjoy nature. The host is amazing. Would definitely recommend to stay at least one night and visit the rock and enjoy the nature.

We really enjoyed this beautiful place! The tree house is lovely and located at a quiet place. The bed is really comfortable! Also the food is nice. The staff is really friendly and helpful! And always in for a good conversation. It will take you around 30 min on a dirt road to go the Sigiriya rock.

Couldn't rent a scooter near and it's quite far out. Charged us 10000lkr for a small amount of laundry! Crazy. Pool wasn't working and it's the main reason we booked the hotel. They were building when we were there so it was noisy.

we were accommodated by the property at an alternative location because of an unforeseen maintenance issue. the alternative property was just okay - the staff was very helpful but the location and the rooms were doable.

Location is quite far off the main roads, not suitable for people with reduced mobility, lots of steps to rooms with bannister that was very wobbly. Would stay again though 😊

Quirky, unique property. Staff were warm and friendly. Pool was clean. Outdoor shower and toilet was clean and spacious and relaxing.

There were quite a few bugs in our room, even though we kept the doors and windows closed. We asked for a mosquito net but they didn’t have any (a little confusing as in some photos they do) so bring your own if you have one. Our faces got very bitten over night and there were a couple of bugs in our bed 🙈 obviously it’s the middle of the country so expect a bit of this, just be prepared with net and spray! Also because of its location expect to be woken up with bird song in the morning, didn’t bother us too much as we went back to sleep after.

This felt like a luxury home stay. The people there are so welcoming and friendly. All food is cooked to order, it felt like they were cooking for us at their home and it was also delicious. English breakfast was a little basic, stick to the Sri Lankan but our evening dinner was wonderful!
