The location, room, staff and hotel grounds were all lovely! The room was impeccably clean, and very big in size. We’ve been travelling in Sri Lanka for 3 weeks now, and so far this is our fave accommodation! The staff were all so lovely, they helped me arrange laundry at a great price. As well as walk me to the beach and lagoon to show me the surrounds.

Exceptional Stay at Seine Waves Turtle! Our stay at Seine Waves Turtle in Tangalle was absolutely amazing. The rooms are brand new, spacious, and very comfortable, while the bathroom was simply a dream. The location is perfect—right in the middle of nature and the best spot to observe sea turtles. It’s just a one-minute walk from the Turtle Center, making it incredibly convenient for nature lovers. The owner was very attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. We also rented scooters to explore the beautiful surroundings, which was a great experience. Another highlight was the huge balconies, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. We truly loved our time here and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tangalle!

Amazing sweet little homestay pretty much on the beach. Very quiet and great restaurants nearby. Away from the tourists and really surrounded by nature. A hidden gem in an area that has yet to be ruined by tourism. We loved it!

Everybody should be aware that the beach is CLOSED to public from 7 pm to 7 am because a so called “ protecting “ turtles organization monopolizes the beach , asking for 2000 rupees to see those poor turtles laying eggs ( sometimes groups of 20 people arriving BY BUS: DISGUSTING). We refused to take part of this and I would like that all the accommodations in this area would not encourage this animal exploiting . We were verbally attacked at 8 pm on the beach by an aggressive so called guide pretending to protect a turtle we spotted , while he was shouting close to it and wanted us to pay the ticket ! Those people should be reported, we will do that !

Cleanest huge room ever. The owner built 2 floors big rooms bungalow, so every accomodation doesn’t have direct neighbors and therefore is quite and private . The bed was king and comfortable, very big bathroom , hot water and high pressure. We slept without AC and appreciate the ceiling fan. Breakfast was great: every day something different is offered . The position is unbeatable, close to a beautiful Long Beach ( no swimming though). The owner went an extra mile to arrange a scooter , provide meeKiri and always asked if we needed anything . The surrounding area offers a large number of restaurants and cafes , very quiet st night and the lagoon is pure poetry . We are now in talalla and no comparison : we miss already SHINE.

I can write thousands of words about how good this experience was. We stayed 2 nights, and everything was beyond perfection. Rooms are big, very clean, smell fanstastic, the internet is good, and hot water all the time. Breakfast was fantastic, different in both days. Absolutely perfect! But what makes this accomodation amazing are the people here. So attentive to everything! We were just looking at one of the umbrellas offered for each room, and they immediately brought a big beach umbrella. There are peacocks around, and one came in the garden. They started feeding the peacocks immediately so we could watch it. Accommodation is close to the wild beach, and there are plenty of restaurants around. 10/10, recommend it!

The most conveniet stay we had in Sri Lanka. Room and bathroom were very spacious, clean and decorated with taste. Comfortable bed, fridge & kettle, good AC and wardrobe, where we could unpack our clothes. Beautiful view on the garden with colorful lights in the evening, delicious and varied breakfasts. Hotel is located rather far from the stores and Tangalle center but in a quiet surrounding, very close to the turtle beach, so perfect place to slow down and rest. The owner was very nice and helpful, always available when we needed him. Highly recommend to stay here!

Nothing at all.

Having travelled around Sri Lanka for eleven days and experienced various accommodation, Shine Wave was by far the cleanest. The room was equipped to a very high standard with a very comfortable bed and bedding. There were even umbrellas and sunshades to take to the beach! The breakfast was served on a little table on our very private balcony surrounded by tropical trees. The food was also the very best Sri Lankan breakfast we’d been offered, with delicious pancakes as well as all the other things, all beautifully presented. The proprietor bent over backwards to ensure that we had a good beach experience, which we were able to walk to in about a minute down a sandy track, and what a beach! The proprietor told us what to do at eight o’clock that evening in order to see the turtles at night ( i.e. go to the small turtle conservation centre, pay the guides 2000SR each which we believe is used for the conservation project.) That evening, the hotel owner was at the hotel gate where he loaned us his torch to go to the beach. The torch shone a red light, which is the only colour allowed on the beach and is less likely to affect the turtles. We went with a small group of other travellers from the conservation centre, and on the beach we were utterly and totally amazed by what we saw! To begin with, we saw a tiny turtle that had just hatched out of it’s egg, scurrying down the beach and heading for the sea. Then we followed the guide down the beach a little way, where the guide shone his red torchlight on to an enormous green turtle at the back of the beach. She was down in a dip having laid her eggs and was laboriously digging up the sand and burying what was likely to have been about a hundred and twenty eggs. The final thrill was to watch her move slowly back down the beach, leaving her glorious patterns in the sand. When she reached the sea, our last sight of her was when the waves lapped over her …. and then she was gone.

Wow! Secret treasure!! Best accommodation in 14 days Sri Lanka. Price is spot on and at least 33% to 50% below average for this category and location. Above expectations and above western standard. Super clean, quiet, comfy. Bathroom and bed we had. Staff is super friendly, helpful and proactive. We got show. Around the area, the beach, got a flashlight with red light to not disturb turtles

Very very modern and next to the turtle sanctuary! We saw baby turtles and an old turtle laying eggs. Amazing to see.
