Good location to explore Sigirya (you can walk) and Pidurangala (8 minutes by tuk tuk). You can hear a lot of animals at night, which was very cool. AC worked, bathroom was fine and the staff helpful. You can eat dinner directly at the lodge which is nice because it is a bit further away from the town.

No mosquito net over the bed. The smell coming from the bathroom was horrendous. Anytime we flushed the toilet the water pressure messed up for 20 minutes.

Bedrooms were nice, location is great, 200m from Lion Rock entrance.

Food was standard for Sri Lanka. The place had building work going on around our cabin which was a bit noisy.

Location is great. About 20 minutes walk to the lion rock. Lovely viewpoint of the rock on the grounds (both during the day and at sunrise) and a very peaceful location. Staff were very friendly and gave us a nice lift to Dambulla afterwards. Deluxe cabins were very nice and new.

The food is fine, nothing exceptional.

The value of this accommodation stands in its location. The view point at only 2 min walking is amazing. The sunrise on both Lion’s rock and Pidurangala was exceptional. The rooms are made of wood and peculiarly nice. The staff is willing to help you and organize your next steps.

It’s fine if you know what to expect (and adds to the fun!) but it is in the middle of the jungle so the power may go out and the water may run out. Wouldn’t recommend eating here - there was a road with lots of restaurants on around the corner. Also lots of building going on on the property so not always peace and quiet to enjoy the jungle noises.

Excellent location, easy walk to the base of lion’s rock ( especially good if you’re planning on doing the sunrise hike as it will be dark). We stayed in a treehouse which was really fun, amazing views. Comfortable bed.

    • Water Pressure Issues – Similar to many places in the area, the water pressure could have been better. • Limited Dining Options – While the food was decent, the variety was somewhat limited

    • Warm and Friendly Staff – The hospitality was exceptional; the staff were always welcoming and accommodating. • Peaceful Location – Surrounded by nature, it felt like a serene escape while still being close to Sigiriya’s attractions. • Comfortable Stay – The room was cozy and had all the basic amenities needed for a pleasant visit. • Good Value for Money – A great choice for those looking for a budget-friendly yet comfortable stay. Excellent Sunrise View

No nets above the bed, they gave it to us after we asked it though. But I would put it standard.

Nice accomodation. The inside of the place is very nice. You have a nice viewpoint if you walk a little bit higher. It is a bit further from the center. I mostly walked, it is about 30 min walk, or only 7 min drive with a tuktuk.

There were constructions when we stayed there so it was a bit noisy. The room and bathroom were basic.

The Choona Lodge had a pretty good viewpoint on Lion Rock. The staff was very helpful and povided us with all of the needed information to book our trips to the national park and Pollunaruwa.

Not very soundproof but that's alright, wooden huts aren't supposed to be soundproof!

Having your own sunset/sunrise rock behind the accomodation was the best, awesome views of the famous rocks! Room was huge and absolutely gorgeous with all wood furnishing. Hosts were lovely and always up for helping us with whatever we needed. Would recommend this place!

Just be careful about wild elephants if walking to lions rock early in the morning as we found out afterwards the route gets a lot of Elephant traffic. It is also a little further from restaurants than some other places to stay in sigiriya.

A nice comfortable and affordable place to stay in sigiriya. The viewpoint out the back is lovely to go see. The walkable distance to lions rock is also very convenient.
