What is not to like. The scenery and grounds were so tranquil. The perfect getaway to relax and unwind off the beaten track. Including the most wonderful hosts. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast and all were incredible and we wish we could have again. The room and setting are beautiful, all the glass windows next to the rock, looking at the lake and lion rock, perfect for catching sunrise and eating breakfast. The room even comes with your very own security guard (Tani the dog). The family are so helpful and we loved all the dogs, and can't forget the cat, or the peacocks. We just wished we could have stayed longer. We will return if we visit Sri Lanka again. Thank you so much!!!

No negative stories to share.

We recently visited Sigiri Lake Paradise. The host had ensured that a driver would pick us up from the airport as we arrived at 03:00 am. The drive itself took 2-2,5 hour and once we arrived we were served with tea and coffee, even though that the check-in time at the homestay, was at 11:00. We went up to the rock next to the house and saw this amazing sunrise. We are very grateful for the assistance we received from the owners. The breakfast was great and included both fresh fruits and local breakfast cuisines. Every night we ate dinner at the homestay, which we highly recommend. We were fortunate enough to help prepare a traditional Sri Lankan dinner, which also was a great experience. The family helped us getting to attractions such as Lion Rock and the Golden Cave temple. They were also a great help with regards to arranging a safari tour. Though it’s a bit far from the main road, we had no trouble walking the 2.5 km or getting transportation from the family. Overall, we were very happy at Sigiri Lake Paradise and wholeheartedly recommend it.

Kumari and Sawmee served us breakfast on the rock overlooking the lake , it was beautiful. We had dinner each evening which was amazing ! Kumari did our washing and was an amazing host , extremely helpful. We rented cycles from them , and also walked to Sigiriya rock which was amazing

Very nice host, she cooks sooo good! Place is. 10 min away from mainroad (you Need to Order a tuktuk) but the Place is soo beautiful! I really recommend to stay here :) the host also orders tuktuk drivers for you when needed

Sigiri Lake Paradise was absolutely amazing. the hosts went above and beyond for us with a village tour and cooking breakfast and dinner at times that worked for us. the views and location were stunning, the bathroom and bedroom were very clean and a really good size.

As the name of the place says, it's a real paradise, in front of the lake with a view on the Lion's rock! We had the chance to cook some traditional food with the family! If you're lucky you will see the Peacocks dancing for you at sunset! Magical place...

Mold on the ceiling (which seems to be a common issue in Sri Lanka). The dinner is very tasty but overpriced, and they even charge extra for bottled water. The biggest issue, though, was when it came time to pay. We noticed the price was higher than what was stated on Booking.com, and when we pointed it out, the host got pretty angry. All the friendliness we had experienced before was suddenly gone, which made us feel really uncomfortable in the end.

Accommodation is very far from Sigiriya. Keep that in mind. In the evening it is more difficult to get there with a tuktuk because of elephants. Keep that in mind.

We slept in the newest house. It was beautiful, clean and spacious. Unfortunately we could not have breakfast outside due to bad weather so it was in the open kitchen of the owner. The owner is very sweet, helpful and the food is fantastic.

If I really had to choose then maybe a small fridge in the room, but seriously nothing much not to like!!

A perfect start to our Sri Lanka holiday. Though slightly difficult to find via taxi, it was worth the endeavour when we arrived to warm hosts and a clean large room with stunning views and surrounded by nature. Attentive friendly hosts created a relaxing atmosphere. Amazing views at the top of the rock in the property garden. Gorgeous homemade food for breakfast and dinner! Highly recommend. 10-15 minute tuktuk to central sigiriya.

Wonderful stay at the property. The room overlooking Lions Rock was amazing. We had a very comfortable couple of nights sleep, and the breakfast every morning was fantastic. Traditional Sri Lankan food, from amazing hosts. Slightly hard to reach via car and TukTuk as the road is quite bad, but this did not affect our stay. We recommend this place 😊

The curtains couldn't be closed completely, but this was no problem for us as we were the only guests and hosts respected our privacy. Keep in mind that due to its natural location, you might find some small animals inside the room, but also this was no problem for us.

Beautiful view over the lake and the Lion Rock, with all kinds of animals around (even elephants might come close!). Host is super friendly and provided delicious dinner. She also arranged our safari in Hurulu Eco Park, which was great.

Auntie and Uncle are so warm and welcoming, making us feel at home from the first moment. The food was delicious. The location was wonderful with an exceptional view of Sigirya and Pidurangala. We can definitely recommend this place and will make sure to visit again!

The family was extremely welcoming, the food was absolutely outstanding and surely the best we've had in Sri Lanka and the location/view was simply exceptional over the Lion Rock. Overall, no doubt it was the best accomodation we had during our trip. Only détail, we had the little cottage with the large glass walls... surely made an incredible difference as we were able to enjoy the view at any time! And seriously their cooking...wow!

Great place to stay at Sigirya. You are in a very calm area, in front of the Lion's rock and next to a beautiful lake. One room is with air con and has a great view. We highly recommend.

It`s just natural, I don`t consider it the disadvantage, to expect dogs barking and protecting the property from intruders during nights. Please bring earplugs if this is a problem for you.

The place in the country close to the lake(s) out of the busy Sigirya main street. Sweet hosts (older couple) who live at the property in their separate house. They arranged everything for us. The bicycles were available at the place. Excellent, and I do mean really briliant and rich, breakfast and dinner prepared at the place. Just the food itself is the strong argument in favour of staying at this place. Incredible look out from the rock at the property. We stayed in the spacious naturally ventilated family house with large beds and the smaller ascetic hut. Beds came with the nets. 4 playfull dogs. Sound of the nature during the nights.

We booked 3 nights ended up staying for 6 nights nights in the accommodation and then came back a second time because it was so great! The small house with its many windows is simply very special. Starting with the furnishings, the cleanliness and the view. The family there, who are incredibly welcoming, genuinely good people as a bonus they prepare the best authentic home cooked food. As former farmers they take pride in there vegetable garden and are happy to show you what you are eating from garden to table.It's an amazing place to relax, surrounded by nature with the lake and the view of sigiriya. We can only recommend everyone to stay here. We will definitely come back as soon as we can. What you get for your money here is unimaginable elsewhere.

Just note that it is a bit out of town so you need your own vehicle to come here, as walking is a bit far.

We 100% recommend this stay, it is wonderful. It is incredibly quiet and there is a great view over the lake to the Lion's Rock. The family is so friendly, we immediately felt at home. Breakfast is the best we had in over a month of Sri Lanka! The room itself is well equipped, spacious, light and clean. Bathroom is also very nice.
