Great place. Comfortable and quiet and yet very close to restaurants, shops and looms rock. The manager is super helpful with everything (even transport and scooter rentals) and speaks really good English.

On the day we got in, the host offered to take us to a walk, and pick us up. It was about 10 mins away by car. It was Pidurangala, and we were billed 2500 rupees at the end for it. This wasn’t communicated and we would’ve walked or got a tuk-tuk if we had known. We also realised on our last day that our stay included breakfast (our fault for missing it originally), but we were never asked about it, which we thought was a bit strange. Just small things that made our stay good, not great.

Fantastic comfortable stay. Monkeys running across the balcony on sunset was a real experience. The food is nice, albeit slightly more expensive than other places in the area. Staff were kind and accomodating. Great location, close to Sigiriya, and close to other great restaurants and cafes.

Everything was just as we expected

The kindness and the gentle way we were treated. The ultimate bed in sirigyia, very confortable. They also allowed us to see the them cooking us. Great time.

We stayed at Sigiri Liya Rest for three nights, and it was one of the best accommodations we had in Sri Lanka. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and offered a peaceful atmosphere—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The location is great, with easy access to Sigiriya Rock and other nearby attractions. A real highlight was the food—it was some of the best we had in Sri Lanka! Every meal was freshly prepared with so much care, and the flavors were absolutely delicious. We truly enjoyed every dish. What made our stay even more special was the warm hospitality of the family running the guesthouse. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always made sure we had everything we needed. Their friendliness made us feel right at home. We can highly recommend Sigiri Liya Rest to anyone visiting the area. It’s a wonderful place to stay, and we would love to come back!

First of all, upon our arrival owner took my passport and was “too busy to fill” customer book for 4 or 5 hours! Up until the evening when we asked him to return my passport for 5th time! This is really not normal and unprofessional, especially when you see that he is walking around, smoking cigarettes and chilling, talking to friends and other customers, didn’t seemed that “busy”. When we entered the room it was dirty!!! Floor full of sand, hair in bathroom and extremely dirty sheets and bed! It was super disgusting! And since we booked the room only for 2 nights we decided to ignore everything and went to sleep. We woke up in the middle of the night from horrible smell of smoke inside of our room! We taught that building was on fire! My husband jumped out of bed and went to check what it was. Somebody was burning rubbish right under our room and all smoke was inside of our room. The worst part was that there were no windows to the other side of the room so we couldn’t let any fresh air in! My husband went to the owner to ask him to do something about it and they didn’t even extinguish it completely, charcoal was still smoking! So we called our driver and left the property at 3AM in the morning!! I highly recommend avoiding this place. I think reviews are fake, because they didn’t seem hospitable or clean or caring about issues.

There were only 2 good things. AC And comfortable bed that we didn’t even sleep in for full night!!

Very peaceful place in a green garden. Nice balcony, good room. Helpful and friendly staff. Very good restaurant, Chani is a great cook and keeps smiling even if there is a crowd! She always gave us some extras like a fruit juice. Nice breakfast too.

Top hotel! Ultra clean, confortable and a/c and hot shower fully operative. Staff were taking care of our needs all the time. They helped us with the laundry and offered breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Very quiet to rest at night. Would come back again without hesitation.

We liked everything.

The best place we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka! We came for 3 nights and stayed for 4! This has been our favourite place to stay in Sri Lanka and we've been in the country for a month and we've been lots of places at the same room price budget. The room was so beautiful to walk in to. It was very spacious with high ceilings and very clean. The bed was large and really comfortable. The best bed we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Clean crisp sheets and bedding. It had air conditioning and a really good fan. We used the air conditioning in the day time, but at night the fan was enough. The room looks out onto a beautiful garden and is private and quiet. There is a balcony with chairs outside where you can relax. The accommodation is close to town, (easy walking distance into town and Lion Rock) There is a restaurant at the accommodation which we also highly recommend. It is rated in the top 3 restaurants for the district. The food was delicious! rated 4.9 on google for reason. Breakfast was great, lunches and dinners are next level. The owners provided transport to the beginning of the Pidurangala climb and to Kandy for a fair price in their neat little car. Also did us a deal to get to Kandy sharing with some other guests for a great price. The family were very kind and helpful. Very nice people to be around. We highly recommend this accommodation. To our hosts, we wish your family success and happiness. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable. We loved staying with you.

One of the best places we got to visit! The family that hosts us were so nice, and even helped us with the driving to kandy. The food in the restaurant is great and we chose to eat there almost every meal. The room is nice, good AC, clean and comfortable. Strongly recommended to come host at this place!

At the last day when we had to leave we saw that we lost our key. After looking we asked for a spare key to open the door but they said they don’t have because the last couple forget it too. They helped us and break the window little bit so we can open the window. After it we ask to pay about loosing the key and they said that a new cylinder cost 12,000 rupi and the other couple pay 5,000 (16 dollar) for loosing a key! They said we can pay how much we want but this is the price. We paid the same amount but after it we discover that duplicate a key cost just 1,000 rupi. We talked to them that they had 3 rooms and they could put us in different room till they duplicate the one key. They didn’t give us the 5,000 rupi back after we said we want to pay less. 5,000 rupi is the price for two night sleep there. Moreover, we had included breakfast, we ordered the meal in the first day and asked for an avocado toast after it we told them that it is include in the price we paid. They said that usually they don’t give a breakfast like this and just toast, butter and jam. We apologise and they said it is okay this morning… the next day we got the basic breakfast and when we came to pay they charge us on the avocado and the other staff we got. I would prefer to be told from the beginning that I need to pay more rather to discover it at the end after they said that everything was alright.

The family that has this place are the nicest people I’ve met on my travels. They showed me around everywhere and even cared for me when I got sick! They also serve the best Sri Lankan food at their restaurant!! If you’re interested in learning more about Sigiriya and Sri Lanka this is the place for you!
