    Nothing - everything was perfect!

We had the most amazing 3 night stay at SKR. The hotel is in a beautiful location with views of both Sigiriya rock and Pidurangala rock, which were both within walking distance. Staff were so kind and helped us arrange so many wonderful activities, including an amazing elephant safari. We really enjoyed relaxing in our room’s plunge pool which overlooked the rice paddy and lake with a stunning view of the rocks and it was amazing watching the birds and wildlife. Breakfast was incredible and staff even arranged for us to have breakfast in the tree house on our final morning, which was a lovely treat. The food at the restaurant was home grown and tasted incredible, especially the Sri Lankan curries.

Excellent hotel! The location is incredible, you are within walking distance of Pidurangala and Lion Rock and the wetland right outside the hotel is stunning with loads of wildlife to see. One of our favourite stays in Sri Lanka! The staff and food are both great as well!

You couldn’t beat the views from the property, sitting between Sigiriya and Pidurangala Rocks. Easy 20 minute walk to Sigiriya Rock. Restaurant had delicious food with many of the ingredients grown on the property! Staff was super attentive and helpful in coordinating drivers and activities. Highly recommend!

Just stayed at Sigiriya Kings Resort as the beginning of our honeymoon and was an amazing way to start it!! Outstanding views, perfect place to relax and the service from the staff was top notch! Delicious food at the restaurant. We stayed in the birds nest room and it was a great experience, it was decorated with a nice message and cake to celebrate us. Amazing location close to both Pidurangala & Lions rock. The hotel owners are amazing people and took care of every detail, they helped us organize our plans & transportation 24/7. 100% recommended! We hope to be back soon.

    Nothing at all,

I chose this place because it had a view of the two rocks in sigriya and it didn’t disappoint, the view was amazing surrounded by nature and animals. - the staff were very nice and helpful at all times - we had our own villa, very clean and calm - pool with a view - the food was amazing we tried pasta and burger and the breakfast with omelette - there’s a gym but we didnt use it - we came really early and they gave us an early checkin 🥹 - my friend was hurt after a hike and they helped us - everything we needed to do was close to the property

A little disappointed by some packet products at breakfast, having experienced local fresh produce at other properties.

The standard of the room was excellent, with stunning views of Sigiriya. A bonus was the private plunge pool, perfect for relaxing after busy day traveling and exploring. The team were super friendly and accommodating. Helped us with travel arrangements and yoga mats.

The restaurant was a bit severe. The food was perfectly good but having dinner in a rather sterile environment and aircon was a shame. Tables outside by the pool would have been preferable. We ate in the village on 2 of our 3 nights which was good fun - if not as classy!

It was calm and beautiful. Lots of birds swooping in an out of the water in front of the hotel. And beautiful butterflies in the sweet peas all day. The views from our rooms were spectacular. The staff were attentive and arranged transport to the village and to the airport as requested. Climbing Lion Rock was a highlight and the hotel is about a 5 minute taxi ride from there. We chose to do it at dawn and set off at 5am with bananas and a wave from the owner!

For a budget room, it wasn't very budget. We had a cockroach in the room one night. The second night, the fried pork starter and chicken starter were very overcooked. we mentioned it to a member of staff but were told that's how it's supposed to be. it's was a shame because the first nights food was lovely.

The pool was big and clean The food on the first nice was lovely The vues were great Free parking was helpful The staff were nice Great location

We spent two relaxed days in Sigiriya King's Resort. We splurged a bit on booking this place due to the excellent reviews- it was way more expensive than anywhere else we stayed on our 3 week Sri Lanka trip. We really loved the room, it's very luxurious and comfortable. The bathroom was huge with a great shower. The views are obviously stunning with lots of wildlife on your doorstep. The staff were very courteous and helpful at all times. Unfortunately it rained during our time so we didn't get to use the pool at all but it looked lovely. I do have some small issues though on reflection. The only common area outside of our room that can be used during the rain is the restaurant. The chairs are the most uncomfortable chair I've ever experienced. They look stylish but they are not functional. It really subtracted from the dining experience. There is no separate bar area to relax with a drink other than the restaurant. The second issue I had was the breakfast. You can choose between continental (with made to order eggs) or Sri Lankan style. We had the continental option. It's really well presented and tasty but for such an expensive hotel, I assumed we would have had an A La Carte style breakfast with some options and barista style coffees, which we got in other places we stayed. Altogether it is a very relaxing and peaceful hotel and I'm sure it would have been different if it did not rain so much as we would have been able to use the pool and dine outdoors.

There are a whole host of reasons to love this place, but I will focus on just a few..... The service, heartfelt, proactive, constant yet unobtrusive. Staff go out of their way to help you, to guide you, arranging all the visits you are hoping to make, calling tuk tuks, dealing with your onward journey, and all at a fair price too. The restaurant, top quality food and service. First class breakfasts, including Sri Lankan. The setting. You are bordering marshland at the foot of 2 extraordinary rocks. Wildlife everywhere, below the rocks or from the rocks, is it Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, or The Lord of the Rings? The excursions possible, apart from Lion's Rock from the hotel we visited Polonaruwa, Ritigala, and we went on a great elephant safari. All in all, one of the best places we have ever been to!

We visited King’s Resort on a previous trip to Sri Lanka and enjoyed it so much we decided to visit again on our latest trip. As soon as you arrive the beauty of the surroundings and tranquility is so relaxing. The lake in front of the accommodation is stunning and teeming with bird life. The rooms are very spacious and each have a private patio to sit and take in the lovely views. The food and breakfast is of a very high quality and the service is excellent. The owners and staff are all very friendly and attentive. There is lots to do and see in the area and we did a safari which was amazing with lots of close encounters with elephants in their natural surroundings. We could not recommend this place highly enough.

The photos actually don’t do it justice in terms of the view and the general calm atmosphere. It’s like a hidden paradise and has quite a magical feel to it. Staff were all so friendly. Easy access to Sigiriya Rock. Food was delicious and a G&T with a view at the end of the day was just fantastic. We had breakfast in the treehouse which was such an incredible experience - one I won’t forget in a long time.
