The surroundings are just breathtakingly beautiful and the paddy field attracts such a variety of birds, we could have just spent the day on the terrace watching birds. The room is spacious with a very comfortable bed, and the hosts were absolutely wonderful serving us delicious breakfast, telling us about Sigiriya and Sri Lanka and even helping my partner who felt unwell during our stay.

Compared with other places we stayed, it’s not such great value compared with the comfort of the room. Also, the view from the main balcony is blocked by palm trees - the rear view over rice paddies is better.

Rooms are relatively comfortable and instead of windows, they have anti-mosquito meshing, leaving you a bit closer to nature. The location is also good, about a 10-min walk from the main strip, so less street noise (although lots of bird song) and staff are very friendly even if their English is quite limited. The breakfast was enormous!

It was a special place. Beautyful view over the paddy fields. In walking distance to the restaurants . We can absolutely recommend it.

During the night there was a lot of noise from the jungle but this is natural and totally fine with earplugs to sleep at night.

The location is really nice as it is in the middle of the rice fields. We enjoyed our stay a lot. The host was just the cutest person and arranged our safari and trips. He even brought us to different locations with his car, cause it was raining. The breakfast was really good and we tried different Sri Lankan food. Overall we would really recommend staying there!

Absolutely great experience in the middle of the rice fields, 10 minutes by walk from the lion rock. We felt in the middle of nature, welcomed by a great host, a super breakfast and very friendly people.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Paddy Field Hut. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The Treehouse is very impressive with a beautiful view of the Paddy Fields.

We simply loved the place! Very calm, surrounded by nature and perfect to find some rest after a day of exploring the area. The little hut was clean, cozy and we loved the view over the rice fields at night. We could also see Sigiriya rock from our terrace. Breakfast was delicious! Our host was super nice, helpful and open and we had very interesting conversations! We can totally recommend! Many thanks!

Everything was good

We had an amazing stay, in the middle of the nature with view on rice fields and Sigirya rock. Definitely one of the best stay we had in Sri Lanka. Also the very friendly owner suggested us a driver, who helped and escorted us for the rest of our trip with very competitive prices and amazing service (no tourists scams). The location with its view on the Lion‘s Rock in the middle of nature. But for light sleepers: it is a bit noisy due to various animals in the surrounding fields, further it gets very bright in the morning. The hostable staff and owner and their recommendations - the owner’s wood carving shop.

This was our nicest and best accommodation on our trip. The owner is kind, he took us in the evening in his jeep to a nearby restaurant. He explained to us the method of planting and harvesting rice. The house itself is beautiful and the whole garden. Everything is clean and the breakfast is excellent.

The location is impeccable, the view is superb, the overall quality and beauty of the area is just outstanding. You can see the Lion Rock just from your balcony, and you can get to it by foot. On the other hand you’ll have a view over the rice field (hence the name of the place), and you can also walk to a nearby lake. The host is very welcoming and friendly. He owns a woodcarving shop which is located nearby and worth a visit (we’ve got some lovely souvenirs from him with a substantial discount)

A great secluded bungalow located close to Sigiriya Rock and an easy walk to the main road with restaurants. The view over the rice paddy was picturesque and there is also a nearby lake with good viewpoints. The owner was super friendly and helped us make the most of our stay, even with continuous rain for the 3 days we stayed. Recommend the elephant safari if you have time. Breakfast was also delicious!

Treehouse isn’t mosquito proof, gaps in the walls, but not a huge issue.

The garden is a bit dirty. If you walk home in the night you might want to take a tuk tuk cause it's a bit dark.

They are super nice. The cabin is very comfortable and not far from the centre (walking distance). The cabin has great views and even though it is simple, it is very comfortable and clean. Visit their wood shop, they make beautiful things!
