Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing at all to dislike it is a lovely welcoming beautiful place to stay - just a word of warning mosquitoes are rife given the location being so close to the jungle road so be prepared - But this is nothing to do with the property and they take many preventative measures around the place to combat the 🦟 pests!!
Having decided to cut our stay in Kandy short and head to Sigiriya at short notice - we wanted to find a nice spot close to Lion’s Rock. Scouring Booking.com this little gem popped up with great reviews. Nestled in a peaceful little spot with all you could want for a natural little hideaway. We arrived quite a while before check in time but instead of turning us away and because the rooms had been vacated the previous day they went out of their way to complete the final touches to the rooms we had booked as quickly as possible so we could get settled in. They also helped us arrange to go on the elephant safari later that day which turned out to be incredible and one of the best things we done whilst travelling around Sri Lanka. The place is family run and everyone we encountered could not have been lovelier, more attentive or more helpful they were so incredibly nice, it made us sad we were only able to stay one night there. Dinner was tasty and freshly prepared and breakfast was just amazing. We were travelling with our Sri Lankan friends and their 9 month old daughter and they even made extra efforts to make food suitable for her ❤️. Big thumbs up from us and we are already planning to go back and stay there next time we visit our Sri Lankan friends in 2027. ☺️☺️

United KingdomIt's hard to say as couldn't find anything to fault on.
The setting is in a quiet and peaceful location. Not too far from the Lion Rock. Staff were amazing and nothing was too much. Breakfast was hot and filling, it's a proud family owned business where they take pride in making sure they achieve excellence by meeting their guest's needs.

LithuaniaMadura and his wife are wonderful hosts. The place is beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. The food is delicious. Madura took us by tuk-tuk to a local lake and also to Pidurangala Rock. After sunset, he drove us back safely. He even arranged a safari for us on very short notice—late in the evening, yet he managed to organize it for the following morning. His wife packed breakfast for our safari. Such kind and welcoming people! Wishing you and your family all the best, Madura!

United KingdomThis is such a lovely hotel in a gorgeous location, you feel like you are really living amongst the nature! The breakfast was my favourite of all the hotels I stayed in and they also provide lovely dinners. They were great at helping us with organising taxis and even let us check in late as our flight didn’t arrive until 8pm at Colombo. The staff are wonderful! It’s even walking distance from lions rock which was great.

GermanyNothing to dislike! The little froggies that loved to crawl out of the overflow hole in the bathroom sink were kept at bay by closing the hole with a tissue. All good!
This is a place of peace and quiet in the middle of lush gardens. Very conveniently located as you can actually walk to the Lion’s Rock park entrance. Madura and his wife are both delightful and wonderful hosts. They picked us up at the airport at 4 a.m. at a reasonable price! They also suggested and organized our activities as well as our transfer to Kandy and all turned out beautifully. The room has a comfortable and big bed, good Moskito net, working A/C and a patio with chairs in the front. Nice breakfast. We would definitely recommend staying there. Please also try out the restaurant next door. It’s new, has good food, cozy seating and done with love.

United KingdomThe rooms could have done with a shelf or some hooks to put clothes on.
The location is beautiful - seven bungalows with verandas, set in lovely lush gardens within walking distance of Lion Rock. There is a little dining area, which is a great place to meet other travellers and chat with the very friendly and welcoming family and the amazing shamila, who can’t help you enough and speaks really good English. The half day elephant safari he organised was amazing! The bungalows are very basic - double bed with mosquito nets and an en-suite but nowhere to hang anything, or tea/ coffee in the rooms. However the rooms are very clean and the setting and friendliness of the place more than makes up for this.

Sri LankaThe road outside the hotel is pitch dark after sunrise...so doesn't feel very safe to walk out. The breakfast was tasty, but not alot of variety.
Very peaceful, calm place. Very friendly staff, seems like it's being run by a family. We paid around LKR 9500 for a night with bed & breakfast. Also the villa is about 2Km Away from Sigiriya and like 1.4km away there are many cafes and groceries
