We stayed at Sigiriya Rock Gate Resort for 3 nights and had a great time. The rooms are clean, comfortable and great value for money given the location. UG was an amazing host and always went out his way for us. He organised a safari tour and a day trip to Polonnaruwa for us and cooked the best breakfast we had in our whole Sri Lanka trip!

We had a room without AC (our fault, that's what we booked!). Needed windows open at night so really needed mosquito net to do it's job but there were several holes...

The family running this guesthouse are the most wonderful people! We felt truly welcome and the owner could not have done more for us. He offered to pick us up from the bus stop and came to get us in his tuktuk after we climbed Pidurangala Rock. In the morning, we had a delicious and traditional homemade Sri Lankan breakfast with the perfect view of Lion Rock. Walking distance from the entrance to Sigirya - this is a wonderful place to stay for those on a budget and looking for an authentic Sri Lankan experience.

Our host and his family were very nice, helpful and friendly. They arranged our visit to Sigiriya Rock and our transfer to Polonaruwa. We stayed in the treehouse which was lovely and quiet with nice view. The dining area is away from the other building and has a nice view of the Rock. A great place to stay if you want to walk to the Rock. The wifi was not very good when we were there.

We loved this place ! The location was so good, close to the Lion Rock ! The host helped us a lot with tuktuk, a lot of goods informations ! He succeded to book a tour for Lori’s by night and with a very good price ! I recommand this place, our journey was so amazing ! Thanks !

We have booked the Resort for one night, but after meeting the owners and seeing how beautiful the place is we decided to stay another night 😁 We were offered every morning traditional SriLankian breakfast, which owners cook themselves. Jud, the owner have been so welcoming and friendly. As it was our first days in Sri Lanka, we had a plenty questions which he answered for us. If anyone looking for a stay in Sigiriya, don't go any further and book this Resort. You are not going to be disappointed. Highly recommend.💞

The shower was not great - only a bit of water coming out.

The host was super friendly and helpful. When we had to change the dates, he was very accomplished. Delicious breakfast and he made us Kottu for dinner one evening as well.

Only for those who had the non A/C room, it was unfortunately quite rustic while the temperature at night can still be high. Since we only stayed for one night it was ok

The location is very special with a view to the Lion's rock of Sigiriya. We took 3 rooms by the beautiful garden. Unfortunately only two of them had A/C and were recently refurbished which was a great added value. The owners speak English, they are very adorable, friendly and helping. We were very happy and thankful to exchange with you and get help for driving from place to place. The service is impeccable and we will never forget it.

We loved our stay at rock gate resort. The rooms were nice and clean and the view on the lion rock from the garden is beautiful, but what really made our experience great in Sigiriya were the host and his family. He offered his tuktuk to drive us around and arranged an amazing lunch and breakfast. In general he was very helpful! We are very grateful to have stayed here and would recommend it to everyone!

UG.and his family are so lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. We had delicious food every evening and he helped plan trips (including elephant safari where we saw loads of elephants). The setting is really great and you can see the rock from the garden. The rooms are clean and well presented. In all the whole stay was a wonderful experience where you really feel part of Sri Lankan life. Definitely visit!

UG and his family are amazing hosts, they cannot do enough for you , we had dinner there 2 nights , first night was fried rice , next night a curry feast.UG has a tuk tuk and we had him drive us to our next stay, he’s a steady driver. The stay is walking distance to the entrance of Lion Rock. UG organised a local safari driver and we saw over 25 elephants close up in the local reserve, it cost $65 for 2 and we had the truck to ourselves. The accommodation is home stay level and has a fan and hot shower. The breakfast is pancakes and roti and fruit, in the evening UG sat we us and told us so much about Sri Lanka and it’s culture and social issues. A great host who is a kind considerate man. I would definitely recommend the place and stay there again

The owners are an incredibly sweet family that will help you with everything you need. The location is also amazing, you have a direct view on the rock. The surroundings are super cool and if you get lucky, you might even see a wild elephant in the backyard. Amazing place, would recommend to everyone!

We had an wonderful experience! If you like being surrounded by nature with a wonderful view of Lion’s Rock…this is definitely the place! The host is super nice, he picked us up from the bus stop and he arranged a tuk tuk for the early morning after to drop us at the entrance of Pidurangala. The food was delicious, cooked with the vegetable and fruits from the garden. During the day the room can be quite humid but at night we managed to sleep with the windows open and the fan. Totally recommended if you want to spend 1 or 2 night around Sigiriya area!! :)
