Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsIt is quite out of the centre of the town. (But fine to walk in about 15 minutes.) Quit some of tiny tiles in the pool were loose.. It’s not so soundproof.. with all the wooden doors.. and the historic doorlatches.. The doors are locked in a very oldfashioned way which looks nice but makes quite some sound.. No fridge in the room. (But you are allowed the use the one from the accomodation). I would have liked an extra mirror in the bedroom. Two of the three most present staff did not speak much English. Unwanted offer of a massage after i had already stated i was not interested in that at that the moment.
Amazing garden. Calm and serene place. Clean and nice beds and sheets. Lovely outdoor bathroom. Big room. Nice breakfast. I loved to see the animals around the premises that were there sometimes: (monkeys, nice birds, mongoose, a peacock, kittens). Good muskito net. The pool and sunbeds were nice. Free beach towels. Rooms were cleaned daily. Very nice building, traditional wooden doors and furniture. Helpfull staff.

GermanyLocation is Ideal if you have a scooter/tuk tuk to get around. Hailing a ride in the evening to get back, can otherwise be a bit tricky.

We had a brilliant (although sadly too short) stay at Stuthi Villa. The staff were very friendly and helpful and always available if we needed. The pool was great and we particularly loved the very cute kittens! The room was very nice with a huge bathroom. Definitely recommend.

United KingdomOnly things, they didn't supply shampoo conditioner, but not a big problem.
Lovely little villas, very comfortable and clean, we didn't use the pool as we didn't have time, but it looked very inviting. Would go back for a longer stay. Lovely breakfast to.

The place is beautiful and tranquil, and the staff take care of the guests' needs. The breakfast is delicious, especially Asanka's scrumptious pancakes! Our stay was completely restful and we enjoyed watching all the local birds and wildlife that visit. A really wonderful stay!

AustraliaValue for money - more of a simple yet peaceful homestay than a luxury villa.
Cute villa! I thoroughly enjoyed my two-night stay at Stuti Villas. Nestled in a lush, green, and homely setting, it offers a peaceful retreat with attentive caretakers on site at all times. However, I found the location a bit removed from the main town, and considering the overall service and facilities, it felt more like a homestay than a luxury villa. Given that, the pricing seemed a bit on the higher side.

United KingdomThe only very very tiny moan would be that 4 of the 5 rooms are connected so any noise from your neighbours is very loud . But really the place is great otherwise.
Rohan who looks after the place is amazing , attentive and helpful , if you like quiet and wildlife then Stuthi villa is the place for you , you had , monkey birds repties , chip monks and mongoose appearing all thie time .We used Subun as our tuk tuk driver who was also amazing , much better than the apps . Would definitely stay again in future. We also really loved our outside bathroom .

BelgiumNo shampoo or shower gel. Bed creaks quite loudly. No wifi outside (pool, breakfast,…). You need to wait couple of minutes before the shower gets warmer.
Earlier check in was possible. We got help with renting a scooter for a competitive price from the neighbour, renter (neighbour) drove the scooter to Stuthi. Super friendly staff!!! They cut some coconut trees and gave us a fresh coconut. Beautiful rooms with excellent airconditioning!!!

NetherlandsStuthi Villa is a quiet paradise with a magical feeling. In the middle of the green jungle-feel surroundings you will see and hear so many animals: big black monkeys, so many beautiful birds, and of course the cute little kittens who were happy to cuddle with us. The buildings and the rooms are beautiful and well equipped and furnished with comfortable beds. The breakfast was delicious, especially the Sri Lankan omelette. We also made use of the massage service. It was the best massage of our 2 week trip in Sri Lanka. We took scooters and tuk tuks to restaurants and Weligama, Mirissa. We had an amazing time. Thank you.
