Tabula Rasa is a beautiful small resort in the middle of the jungle with an amazing view, garden and infinity pool. The staff is absolutely lovely and try to make your stay the best possible, and they were very helpful to solve any problem that arises. The villa we stayed in what great, modern, tastefully decorated, with a terrasse and jungle views, lots of space, and super comfortable bed. You could not imagine a more peaceful setting, and monkeys came to say hello a few times. The breakfast was superb. Our baby loved the place and everyone was super attentive to her. Thank you so much for making our stay special.

We had the pleasure of staying for 3 nights at Tabula Rasa Hotel, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with refreshing towels and a refreshing mocktail — such a thoughtful touch after our flight and long car ride. The staff at Tabula Rasa were exceptional. They were always so friendly and accommodating, ensuring that every need was met with a smile. The chefs went out of their way to adjust meals for our 3-year-old son, and even gave him a special tour of the kitchen! Special thanks to M. Nuwan, the massage therapist, who provided an incredibly relaxing experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and we highly recommend the Sri Lankan breakfast – it quickly became our favorite! The restaurant and lounge also have a fantastic atmosphere, with soft music playing in the background, adding to the overall peaceful vibe. Tabula Rasa offers a perfect blend of seclusion and serenity, with breathtaking views of the ocean and surrounding jungle. If you’re looking for a quiet retreat in a paradise setting, this is the place to be. On our last day, we were lucky enough to witness a family of monkeys playing in the tree right in front of our room. It was an unforgettable moment, being able to watch them up close in such a beautiful setting. A big thank you to the entire team at Tabula Rasa for making our stay so smooth and memorable. We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the hotel! From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every need was met with a smile. The villa was spacious, very clean, and beautifully decorated, providing a relaxing environment that made us feel right at home. The amenities were top-notch, with a fantastic pool overlooking a jungle and providing a stunning view of the ocean. The location was also wonderful as the hotel is located at the top of the hill, maintaining a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The lighting in the room was poor - as it was in every hotel we stayed in ! Its very difficult to put make up on in such low lighting conditions.

The Tabula Rasa resort exceeded our expectations, it was a favourite hotel of our trip. The staff were AMAZING, the resort is clean with stunning views, food was delicious and it was a real oasis following a very busy few days previous. *Note this hotel is approx 25 min from Galle Fort. We opted to stay inside the fort for one night, then move onto Tabula Rasa for some down time. This decision was right for us.

Relaxing, Immaculate, comfortable and remote enough to give the sense of being in the trees whilst still being near the coast. The staff were amazing, the food extremely tasty and will certainly visit again. The bedrooms were spacious, bathroom lush with great water pressure.

This is a hidden gem a five minute tuk tuk drive from the beach so away from the hustle and bustle. You feel truly relaxed. It's set in the jungle and our two and four year old loved spotting monkeys.

An incident occurred involving a local tuk-tuk driver who demanded double the fare, preventing my pre-arranged driver from accessing the resort, necessitating a walk to the main road. The resort manager failed to intervene. This was both unfortunate and unprofessional.

The downside for me was the hard bed mattress, which is a personal preference and doesn’t affect everyone. They tried their best to accommodate me in a different room with a better mattress.

The location up on a hill with a spectacular view, serene atmosphere and style. Everything is very well thought off (from the lighting, soft music, good food) and balanced with nature. The staff is very kind and willing to help in the best way. There are many regular guests here who come back every year. Also solo female travelers like me. That says more than enough. The houses are so quiet and loved listening to all the sounds of nature en relish in the greens from different plants, trees and flowers. Thank you for this wonderful experience!!

Just to be aware that the hotel is a good 25 minute drive from the Galle fort

If you want a relaxing and quiet hotel with amazing staff and food then this is the place! We stayed in one of the plunge pool rooms which were incredible, you can sit in your own private pool watching monkeys swinging around in the trees. The staff are all amazing and can’t do enough for you. You can order your breakfast right by the pool! The meals we had in the evenings were also delicious, one of the best Sri Lankan curries we have had yet. Highly recommend!

If you are are beach person you’ll find the location a bit far from the beaches

Located on the top of a hill, surrounded by tropical forest, with a great view of the ocean. Ahangama beaches, restaurants, clubs are within 15 minutes drive. The hotel staff are very nice, helpful and available H24. The food was awesome, with many tasty local dishes, I enjoyed both the breakfast and dinner.

Epic end to a Sri Lankan journey in a truly surreal small luxury hotel I had the pleasure of staying at this stunning luxury enclave overlooking the surreal ocean and Koggala lake during my memorable trip to Sri Lanka. I encountered a smooth check-in with warm greetings and a refreshing homemade drink made out of garden plucked ingredients. How lovely! Chef met me on arrival and made sure the favorite Sri Lankan curries and flavors are well heard and looked after. Room was thoughtfully designed with every detail being looked at, something you would expect a luxury resort of this level to be of. It smelled of Cinnamon and towels / bed linen were so fluffy and fresh. Restaurant The Dutch served warm, freshly cooked meals. Their Coconut Prawn Curry was the best. Service by Akila and team was impeccable. After lunch I was ready for a day by their amazing jungle pool surrounded by lush green overlooking the magical ocean. It was really relaxing and again the drinks and food served by the lounge was top notch. I had the most rejuvenating treatment at their Spa and the therapist was so diligent. All areas were clean and tidy with manicured gardens. I felt like I was in a very special place. Next day morning I ascended a small peak close to the resort with their in-house guide Nuwan on a very special tour of his family temple where he drew the life story of Lord Buddha. They also had few more experiences made in-house. A thoughtful addition to the stay.

Finally a hotel who understands the meaning of ‘Home away from home’ Everything in this resort is focused on that. The interior, the cozy candle lights in your room, the restaurant and ofcourse the staff who will make you feel you are the only one at the resort. Special thanks to Amith the Cheff who prepared a special vegan dinner for me. Would have booked extra nights here if we didn’t need to go back home.

Should consider providing slippers and bath robe. I was waiting for my glass of warm water at breakfast, which was not provided even though I requested it.

The reception gave a warm welcome and the staff is nice. It is a very quiet and relaxing place with a beautiful view. Very comfortable king-size bed and a big shower room. I like the toiletries, which are given a strong aromatic smell. Especially sandalwood.
