Very calm and directly at the beach. You are connected to nature and you can listen to the ocean while you sleep. People come here to meditate and find peace. Great staff and food and the best dogs.

nothing it was perfect

incredible secluded location at one end of the beach, but easy walk into town along the seafront. Delicious food, some of the best we had in Sri Lanka all home cooked and served on the beachfront. beautiful raised huts with the sound of the sea, and all conveniences like plug sockets and comfortable bathroom. host is so friendly and helpful.

The owner and his family were very kind. The food is delicious and the location is amazing, you should be in for an adventure if you like it. The cabana is simple but the location makes up for everything, the place is owned by the family and they treated our very kind even decorated my room beautifully for my birthday. I would recommend this to any family, couple or solo backpackers that likes some adventures.

Most beautiful place we’ve ever stayed! Let yourself be amazed by the beauty of your own private beach. The accommodations are literally right on the beach and you’ll have an ocean view right from your balcony. It almost felt like a 5-star resort. The owners are also super kind, thoughtful and helpful. We did some breathing- and yoga exercises with the owner on the beach and the whole experience was very relaxing. There are some nice restaurants in the area as well, but you will probably not eat there because the food of the place itself really tasty and healthy.

Some electrical bright light would be lovely at the beach tables where you can have dinner.

We loved to stay at Alpha Monkey where you are right on the beach and have a lovely view of the ocean from the balcony. The owner and his family are really lovely and even gave our little son a lovely farewell present!

nothing we could mention here. Maybe it is a little dark when dining, very few lights, but that was not an important one for us.

The Alpha Monkey had just reopened after two years of lockdown. Pool did not have water yet, still, Taminde and family were busy refurbishing the place and trying everything to make it an as nice as possible stay for us. The food was excellent, be it breakfast or dinner. We got a little beach fire at the end just for us and did a nice breathwork session with Taminde on the beach. We really enjoyed the basic style and open bungalow design and the tranquility. The piece of beach is very quiet as Alpha Monkey is located beyond the end of the main road where all the other places are. You can easily reach other places, too, by taking a short walk. Taminde and family care a lot for the nature around them and are overly helpful.

Felt like an overpriced camping. The toilet was outside of the room and you had to climb some stairs. After the toilet, you had to go down to wash your hands and then back to the room. The towels were dirty and the room could be cleaner. Mosquito net too small - you had to try a lot to not have it all over your face while sleeping. You cannot buy anything on the evening, so if you need water you have to go to the city. Also, keep in mind that this is nature - we found lizards poop that was not there the previous day (and of course the hotel is not responsible about it, but I have to mention it). For the money we payed (approx 50$ per night), this was not a value for money.

The location was amazing - in front of the beach, the perfect setting to unwind. Great view from the room. At the end, the reception offered a small gift that felt nice and personal, super sweet.

we knew we were going to be staying some where basic, but the bed was impassable. We got bedbugs which ruined the rest of our trip/

The locations was beautiful. Right on the beach, and was lovely to go to sleep to the sound of the waves!

I love to sleep in simple huts while travelling. But I have to say that they could clean them better. big spider webs, everything is sticky, very dirty mirror, no rubbish bin, the floor is sandy and sticky. Please put a little bit more love into cleaning and it would be the perfect location ☺️
