When it rained my balcony ceiling was falling apart . My lights in my bathroom didn’t work . Food very over priced in the restaurant. Had much better food in local restaurants for half the price . Everything USD

Sea is very rough.If you want to swim in the sea, this is the wrong place. For walks on the beach it is perfect. Lunch was mediocre. We have not tried dinner. We can highly recommend U-point restaurant.

Great view from the balcony. Nice pool area and directly at the beach. Garden area was nice, as shown on pictures. The beach is clean, scenic and has to be shared with only a few other people. Very nice for long walks on the beach. Houskeeping was good (twice a day), rooms were clean. Staff was caring. Tasty breakfast. We would recommend the hotel and come again!

all was super good!

Clean, big and comfi rooms with a good working A/C, wifi and a fridge. View from the rooms terrace to the pool and the beach (behind the pool) was amazing. Pool was nice, food was good and the stuff was attentive and friendly. Shower and everything worked also well. You can reach the beach directly from here as you walk down after the pool. We had the beach for us alone, the view was stunning and even the waves seem a bit strong you can swim there. We also used the laundry service and after one day we got our clean clothes back-great! When we left, one of the stuff cleaned our tuktuk from the inside and helped us with our backpacks. All in all, this was the best accommodation during our whole holiday.

What a treat! Everything was just perfect. All rooms were huge, comfortable and had amazing views. The property also provided for outdoor adventure for our kids, fun by the pool, rest and relaxation. Service was exceptional with lots of kindness and care for our kids especially. Much appreciated. The daily clean of the room also made the stay really comfortable. The food is outstanding! Sri Lankan and western breakfasts both super yummy. It's a lovely space to also enjoy dinner. Very reasonably priced too. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay we will be back!

We found it hard to get a normal taxi/uber/pickme to take a fare from the hotel as the location is a bit out of town, so ended up having to pay a premium when using the reception's suggestion.

The staff were incredibly friendly and saw to our every need. The location by the beach is fantastic for a serene getaway with spectacular views.

If I had to think of anything it would be that the Fridge was a little bit on a lean so our large coke bottles for drinks rolled out every time but eh…. No biggy

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the service was impeccable. Lovely big bed, robes to wear, beautiful pool, good menu and drinks choices and friendly staff who like to share a laugh and joke. We felt right at home but then the ocean view, manicured grounds and light up pool at night was the icing on the cake.

Friendly staff! Always interested in how we were doing and making small talk (the younger guy that helped at the restaurant). Room was cleaned multiple times per day and was very big with good shower. We were given a dessert for free when the night before it was not available!

Worth every penny! Absolutely lovely people here, the best staff we maybe ever had in our holidays. Very clean room, big as well. Everything is just right. We had a very chill vacation here. Picture perfect with beach, swimming pool and the palm trees. Wonderful! But the people made it for us, thank you all!

Can't think of anything negative!

Everything about this hotel was amazing and totally exceeded our expectations. The staff were incredible and so welcoming, they ensured we were comfortable throughout our stay. The food was exceptional, I would definitely recommend the seafood in particular as it's sourced locally and is delicious. I would also recommend booking a massage as it was very relaxing, as well as a yoga session, which was held with a yoga master on the rooftop of the hotel at sunset - what an experience! The hotel also has a private walkway onto a white sandy beach, which was beautiful. The sea was a little too rough for swimming, however you are able to swim further down the beach if you want to. The hotel has 2 swimming pools, and with only 7 rooms in total, it never felt crowded for busy. In fact, it felt like we'd hired the hotel to ourselves! The rooms were incredibly clean and had great wifi connection. Location wise, Turtle Bay is in a quiet beach front area and is the perfect place to stay if you want to relax, eat amazing food and go for long walks on the beach. There are a couple of places to explore in the local area, for example we went on a boat ride in a natural lagoon which is walking distance away, and is home to different bird species (and crocodiles)! However it's not a bustling town with lots of cafes and restaurants. The nearest town is Mirissa (approx 1 hour car ride away), which has beach bars and cafes along a white sandy beach where you can swim, surf and book snorkeling with turtles and whales. We spent an afternoon here which was amazing, but it was lovely to come back to Turtle Bay and unwind in peaceful luxury.

The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive, without being over the top. The facilities were excellent and food was all lovely. Would highly recommend the vegan curry. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a beachside hotel with lovely food and a great pool.

Everything!!! The great pool with the view is so nice, the food is really delicious, the staff is so friendly and helpful, the excursions to explore the surroundings (temple Mulkirigala, turtles laying eggs on the beach) with the really nice hybrid car and a very friendly driver, the morning boat trip for bird-watching, the long walks on the lonely beach. This is exactly how holidays should be! We will come back!

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel is by the beach and good access to it. Views from rooms are excellent. Air con on one of our rooms wasn’t working properly and they were able to do a room change. You have very nice outdoor area to relax.

The Turtle Bay Hotel is a fabulous 7 room boutique hotel located right on the beach. The staff are really professional, friendly and accommodating. The food is excellent. We have eaten a lot of local home cooked delicacies this week. The Ayurvedic spa is totally relaxing. Excellent value for money.

Further from Tangalle town than we assumed - but that’s our fault for not checking beforehand. It also seems like the town doesn’t offer that much to tourists, so perhaps the remoteness is a boon and not a detraction.

Turtle Bay is a tiny sparkling gem of a boutique hotel, we loved every moment of our short stay. The hotel is fairly remote but a short distance from Tangalle. The spa is the best massage I had in Sri Lanka. As a couple, it was great but it may be quiet for those who are seeking a more touristy experience. Definitely a place for reading, swimming, drinking cocktails by the pool and getting the best massage of your life.
