Wifi wasn’t great which is fine unless you want to work online!

Very comfy bed with great mosquito net. Good location close to the Main Street but up a steep hill to get there (or the short cut along the train tracks). Filling breakfast and good facilities in the rooms. Rooms were aired well and I saw and smelt no signs of damp which previous reviews mention!

The room is clean but they need to ventilate the room as all my clothes smell like mold due to the high humidity. Ella itself is very humid zone. To go and back to the hotel with the luggage, you do need a tuktuk as it's is not easy to walk from the center in the regular road.

Walking to the city center as there's a shortcut through the railway tracks. Wifi and breakfast are good.

Everything was great

Amazing stay, highly recommend. Great breakfast, really friendly, helpful owners. They allowed us check in early which was super appreciated. There’s a great cooking school next door too. Balcony overlooks amazing jungle with awesome views. Great location - 4 min walk to the main town via the railway track which everyone does. Thank you so much for our great stay.

The room was very humid especially the mattress. Unfortunately there was no space like a shelf were we could place our backpacks that should be improved. Besides the bathroom really needs some renovation the window cannot be closed, the showerhead holder was broken and again no space to store some personal stuff.

The location of the Hotel was good and the breakfast was very good. Moreover we liked the balcony.

The comfort matches the low price. It's been raining a lot in Ella in the months up to our stay and to be honest the humidity and moldiness of the room made it less than comfortable in general. Think aircondition or some sort of mechanical ventilation would make a huge difference for an otherwise nice place like this.

Very good location in Ella. Close to main street and train station. The room we stayed in was cheap and a good size for the four of us. The best thing about the room was the big balcony. Very friendly family running the place. They were helpful with our onwards transport to Hiriketiya and they also have their own tuk-tuk and will drive you places for a very reasonable charge. The breakfasts were very tasty and filling.

The access to the hotel can be a bit challenging when you come with your own tuktuk. You can hear the trains passing.

The hospitality of the owners was very good, breakfast was tasty and quite big by the size. A few adjustments in the restroom could be done but overall it was worth it to stay in this place.

Amazing staff! brought us hot tea and made our stay very warm and comfortable. The place is clean with an incredible view and location- close to hike trails and 5 min walk from the main street. Also very suitable for a low budget. Includes an amazing breakfast!! They also have a cooking class that we enjoyed very much.

Very clean, great location, comfortable bed, lovely host, nice breakfast. We were a bit worried about staying after reading some previous reviews but we had a lovely stay here. I think we were in one of the newer rooms as no issues at all.

Room was up some quite steep stairs. No real lock on the door just padlock but I think its quite common in Sri Lanka

First room I got given wasn’t great and smelt of damp heavily however the owner lady swiftly moved me to the other room which was amazing and new. Terrace with beautiful view and shower with hot water. Bed very comfortable and fan in the room. Breakfast amazing. Best room and best breakfast I had in Sri Lanka.

Unfortunately our room smelt heavily of damp, was very mouldy and not very clean. We originally booked 2 nights but had to book somewhere else for the second night because of this.
