A bit noisy but not annoying.

I booked the room after a not that good experience I had with another booking in Ella. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The view from the room is breathtaking. The staff was very kind and helpful and they arranged a transfer to the next destination for a fair price. Very close to the main road and all the shops.

Because of the geography of the town, a lot of hotels are going to be up a steep road. However, at this one, after walking up the steep slope, you then walk down a shorter and steeper slope, then down many steps to get to your room, so you may not be as high up as some other hotels. I was in one of the lower rooms, which is 105 steps down from the road. It wasn't a big issue for me, but if you have fitness issues it's worth bearing in mind. But then Ella is probably not the best destination for you anyway! The main road was right below my room (see photo), and the trucks can be loud at night.

The room was comfortable, nice views of the valley and surrounding hills. The path down to my room is forest. I saw grey hornbills and even a porcupine!

The walk up the hill to then climb down the stairs was hard work, not to mention the building site we had to go through to get to the room. First impressions made us uneasy. Aside from that a lovely place.

The view from the room was lovely and the beds were comfortable. The highlight of our stay was Tuwan and the staff's hospitality. Lovely breakfasts and very convenient.

The location put here is incorrect. That is a different hotel of the same owner. For this hotel you have to descend 10 flights of stairs in the garden/jungle. My family faced lots of difficulties because of this. Had we known this earlier, we wouldn't have booked this.

The view from the room was mesmerizing. You can see a waterfall right across the valley.

I had the opportunity to spend time at this hotel and I am very impressed. The view from the window to the mountains was really amazing and made every morning start great. Breakfast was exceptional - abundant, fresh and varied, with something for everyone. The staff was very friendly and helpful, which made the stay even more pleasant. However, it is worth noting that getting to the hotel can be problematic for people with disabilities, as there are many stairs. Nevertheless, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for beautiful views and a great atmosphere.

You should be fit to manage all the stairs up and down. Not all taxies could reach hotel because the hill is quite steap

Staff- they were very helpful and helped with luggages that needed to be brough to the place by many many stairs, managing Tuk tuk and transfer to other hotel. Always adviced what to see. Amaizing view to the mountain, great size balcony. Hot shower that is a real plus in Sri Lanka. Huge portions of delicious breakfast! Close to the main road and city center.

I recently stayed at Viewfront Ella for two days and had a wonderful experience. The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. They need to change the pillows in my room. They were old and smelled really bad I had to add extra covers using the towels. I had challenge climbing up stairs from my room to the main street. Though It's given that Ella is very hilly, lots of up and down.

Like the previous reviews there lots of steps down to the hotel after having first climbed a steep hill upwards! So it requires the guests to have a certain level of mobility, however, I found it okay even though I’m not especially sporty. And the view made it worth it in my opinion😉

Beautiful room with amazing view! The balcony was really nice and we spent quite a few hours here during our stay! The owner is very friendly and helped us with everything we needed from laundry to Tuktuk reservations.

It was a bit dusty, some bubbling paint on the walls so the room needed the balcony door open all the time for ventilation, and there were quite a lot of ants in the bathroom (but this is very hard to control). Not an expensive place though so you get what you pay for. Not a place to meet other people.

David accepted my booking last minute, let me check in straight away. Carried my very heavy bag down about 100 steps to my room (and back up when I left), and helped me organise transport very efficiently on the morning I left. The dog at the property slept outside my room every night as if she was protecting me. So sweet. I loved having a private balcony that I spent a lot of time on, and there was hot water in the large shower. Comfy bed. Beautiful view of the mountains (although a fair amount of noise from the traffic on the mountain road). It was also in a great location, really close to the centre of Ella.

The driveway to the parking spot is quiet steep so my tour guide/driver could not get the car down as it was scratching the underbody of the vehicle. If you have an SUV no problem but sedans and hatches will have issues. Just food for thought.

Nice location, was referred about this place from a friend. The owner David seems like an honest genuine guy and we spoke personally at the property. Nothing was too difficult for him to sort out. He was always a message away for any assistance as well as his staff.

A walk down to the room and up to go out was a little difficult.

The location is at height and the rooms are almost 3 stories downstairs. It was a little tricky to reach the room, but the location and rooms were comfortable. Especially the owner, an ex-military person, made sure we were comfortable. Provided us with all necessary equipment.
