Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom… there is construction work going on right next door, with a digger tearing down walls from 7am - it felt like an earthquake. I found it quite scary and not the “light sound disturbance” the hotel had informed me about once I booked.
Clean, comfortable room under normal circumstances but…

MaltaThe hotel was right next door to a building site and the room originally was back to back with a building being demolished. The whole hotel shook with the works and was very noisy. The place did not feel safe at all. We should have been warned about the work being done before arriving at the hotel - the works had been on going for some time and given the opportunity to decide whether we wanted to stay or not. In addtion, the hotel staff was being difficult when asked to change the room. Ultimately the room was changed but still the hotel shook as work continued next door.

NetherlandsI was in an accident and instead of showing any concern when I let them know later about what happened they marked my stay as a no show and booked my creditcard with the full amount. Apparently this is how you treat your guests in 2022.

Belgiumthere were some guys playing music so loud around 20:00 till 23:-- which was annoying and If someone were talking so loud in the other room you would hear them... Also, there is a big window in the WC in front of other rooms' windows so if you are there some people may see you, at least they should put drapes on that window for privacy.
The location is great as it is so close to train/bus/tram station, some staff are nice, but the floor of the room was a bit dirty and I didn't like that.

NetherlandsThe view out of the window was so bad that I had to keep the curtains closed 100% of the time. The noise level was high due not only to heavy drilling that started around 7:30 in the morning but also the people who were constantly walking up and down the stairs late at night. The location of the shower (right in your room, sectioned off by clear glass) is unusual, but the shower itself is fine. The room was cold and the heater wasn't working. I had to sleep with my clothes on. When I asked the manager to fix the heater, he said that it does not work and the heat should come from heated flooring. Well, no heat came from the floor at all. The Wi-Fi did not work so I had to ask the manager for help. I would understand if they charged 50 euro per night. But for 155 per night that's a total rip-off.
The staff was friendly and the location was great. Close to the central station. The hotel is easy to find. The elevator works well. The bed was large and comfortable.

Czech RepublicThe room sadly had no place to put your clothes - there was no wardrobe or chest of drawers in the room. No kettle to make tea or coffee in a 4* hotel. There were repair works going on next to the hotel, and were very loud most of the time - the whole floor was shaking. The breakfast could have been a bit richer, and include hot items.
The rooms were clean, modern, large, and felt nice to be in. The breakfast items available and coffee were all very tasty.

GermanyIt didn't feel clean, I found some hairs on the bed. The sink is weird, washing hands is not comfortable. The locker was broken, it pipped without stop, I had to call the receptionist to fix. The sound isolation is really poor, I could hear people coughing in the morning
Easy to find, on the other side of the road from the central station. Not far from Den Atelier, if one goes to a concert. The staff is helpful, I arrived much earlier of check-in time so I could leave my bag in the reception.
