Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe booked two king-sized suites - one for us and one for our grown daughter. About 11:30 at night, the person in the room the other side of our daughter starting playing music on full blast, banging doors open and closed, and it sounded like he was throwing dishes on the floor. My husband let the front desk know what was going on, and someone came up to talk to that patron, but the racket continued and was actually a little scary. At that point we were advised to change rooms. Which we did. However, rather than the other patron having to leave his suite, we were downgraded to one room with double beds. We were fine with it for our safety, but in the aftermath, no one ever made mention of it the following day, and we were not offered any sort of refund on the downgrade.
Location, and the king-sized suites were lovely with the balconies looking out to the pool and ocean. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was outstanding.

AustraliaParking nearby was difficult. Our room was very dark and the walls of the room were a bit grubby.
The location was fabulous. Central to everything. The hotel was nicely decorated. The central courtyard was quite lovely.

BelgiumThe wifi in the room was unusable. The manager said it was because of the general telecom network, but since there were no separate routers in the rooms or floor, it was logical that in the rooms there was very weak signal causing interruptions every 5 minutes. We asked other visitors in other rooms and they also had very poor wifi. Very sad that such an expensive ryad fails to offer stable wifi in the rooms. Smell in the bathroom from the shower drain. Noise outside from the busy alley in the medina, very poor window insulation.

Germany- Very unattentive staff: nobody said hello, when we entered, the facilities weren't shown to us, we had to ask for everything. They all seem quite demotivated. - the pool was empty (it's winter – but at other hotels the pools are still in service) - bathroom could need a renovation
Nice hotel, good location (very calm), breakfast okay. We got some good restaurant recommendations.

United StatesAdvertised as equipped with AC but did not have air conditioning. The room was a sauna and there was only one small fan that had a timer! You had to turn the timer on every 2 hours. No outside windows. We had to sleep with the door open for ventilation. the other issue was the door did not lock so we had to put our valuables in the safe.
Dar Shaan has a great location next to both the Medina and the Oudaya. The Riad has a really nice vibe and is well decorated The room was clean and the terrace had a great view of the city.

ItalyWe didn't like the breakfast. They put on a table old moroccan bread. If you go out of the riiad for 4 dirham (40 cents) people sell fresh and amazing bread. Many things on the table are there you do not know since when. No croissaints, no pain au chocolat, no cornettos. When you arrive at the breakfast room nobody is there even if you arrive at central time such as 8 o'clock. You have to go on the ground floor to call the staff. The pool is left with dirty water on the top floor. Also the top floor it seems half abandoned and the photos on booking are a liittle bit deceiving. The ground floor it could be nice but the fountain is always switched off so you don't get the sensation to be in a riad. Also the person at reception when we arrived gave us the smallest room; there were plenty.of rooms we, that booked for 3 days, got the smallest one. Also at the beginning he told us there were no rooms on the 1st floor. After 2 minutes when i complained he found one, but he gave us the smallest room of the riad. Hospitality is another thing. Definetely the price you pay is not worth the stay. In Morocco the money they charge you for this place is too much for me.
.The location in the kasbah is good, near Kasbah des Oudaias. The bathroom and the bed-sheets are good. When you arrive they give.you a welcome drink. The guy that has arrived to serve breakfast has tried to be helpful and was very kind and gentle with us. The ground floor of the riad is nice.

MoroccoI didn’t like that it wasn’t private, once we were at the pool, while one of the staff comes with new people to show them the place, and they weren’t even booking at the hotel, also the water of the pool was a bit dirty, it shows that they didn’t change it for a long while, the breakfast wasn’t that good as well, except for the tea
I liked the staff and the room was clean and chill
