Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe location is a bit out of town - which is okay as the Riad provides all the services needed, but the road to the Riad is a bit rundown - nothing they can do about though. Most staff also speak mostly French - not a problem again, just to be aware of, there is staff that can speak English though.
Very nice and picturesque Riad (converted from a former Kasbah). The interior is amazing and every corner is beautiful. The highlight is the amazing kitchen staff and meals - both the dinner (I had the gourmet taster menu) and breakfast were amazing and of high quality. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very large and cosy, nothing more I could ask of.

NetherlandsDue to small windows our room lacked a bit in natural light
We were welcomed in many ways in a very warm way, with very friendly staff. It certainly looks like The Kasbah from 1001 nights, where you could get lost in the many corners, balconies and even your own room. Child friendly, lovely breakfast, tasty dinner.

IndiaFor senior citizens, there were too many stairs to climb to reach the room.
Very hospitable staff. In particular, the owner made it a point to come and meet us before we left, gave us a map and directions on how to drive back to Marrakech as there was a lot of road work on the main highway. This helped us to bypass slow traffic and actually see the real Moroccan villages and waY of life. The food was lovely - dinner was a set menu and breakfast was a hearty Berber breakfast.

Hammam and massage was amazing! Can't forget the special experience. The service from all the staff are fantastic. We felt very comfortable and welcome. Dining areas very nicely done. We had our "private" terrace for dinner. The leather house shoes are stylish and comfy. The scent at the whole place was great. The goodbye by the owner was very nice too.

United KingdomDar Daif is the perfect place to stay at Ouarzazate ! The location is ideal to discover the cinema studios, the Aït Benhaddou and other treasures of the region. Dar Daif looks like it comes right out of 1001 nights books, it is amazingly beautiful and Jean-Pierre (the owner and host) and his staff are most welcoming !

SwitzerlandAvoid unless you want to support exploitative behaviour. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Beautiful place BUT inhumane + totally arrogant management. We had asked or driver where he would stay and he told us that in Morocco usually hotels would provide a place to stay. This hotel doesnt provide any and he had to sleep in the car at 2° C The argument that there is no space to accomodate four drivers is totally stupid given the size of the building. There were other guests that cancelled stays because of of the same issue and river was treated. What made it worse was that hotel management would block any kind of direct contact to owner so there was no other way to provide this feedback than by putting a 1* review.

United StatesThe location of the place is way out of the center of the town. Once you get there, you can forget about going back out and exploring the center of the town.
The accommodation we booked had one main room with a double bed, with two smaller adjacent rooms with additional twin beds. The layout was a bit labyrinthine, but it was quite spacious. The shower was great. Dinner and breakfast were good. A lot of the items in the dinner menu were not available. The staff was efficient and pleasant without being overly friendly. Overall, a decent experience.

United StatesWe contacted the property and Booking.com requesting a refund. We never heard back from the property. Booking.com didn’t do much apart from contacting the property and when the property didn’t respond, Booking.com said they couldn’t do anything about it. This is a warning for everyone who mistakenly feels that Booking.com is a platform that stands behind the listings and maintains integrity and some accountability. There is a comfortable hotel in town, walking distance to great restaurants and the supermarket in case you need to replenish water supplies and get snack for the kids.
When you read the reviews of Riad Dar Daif that have low rating, trust them. I ignored the reviews discussing the non-existent road and other issues with the hotel and instead, focused on the good reviews. That came back to bite me. My family and the driver initially thought we were lost and our GPS was taking us to a wrong place. There was no road to speak of to this property. We were afraid the car will break and we will end up on the road 3 miles away from town. We had formed an idea of the property based on pictures on this website and that was another mistake. We should’ve believed the some of musty pictures posted by travelers. We arrived at Riad Dar Daif early evening after a long trip to find a property with musty smell, unkept courtyard, looking like an abandoned property. It could’ve been that the property was just coming out of low season and they were not ready for tourists. I don’t know. We asked to see the room and that was a whole other challenge. We had an older person with us who would’ve never been able to climb the endless stairs to the top of the building. We finally arrived in the suite to find out that one room had no windows and the fabulous view presented in the pictures was a view of a large AC unit. We were concerned with eating at the property due to allergies and another review here saying they weren’t really mindful of allergies. There was NO WAY we could’ve possibly gone back to town to have dinner driving on a dirt road for 3 miles each way. We ended up not staying at Riad Dar Daif and instead opted for a hotel in town.

United KingdomLocation: It is a bit bumpy drive near the Riad and the parking is parallel parking in the narrow curb. However, the staff is available there to help you with the parking. Food: While the gastronomic menu was impressed, the included free breakfast the following morning is so-so. Additionally, discovering a hair inside the bread was disappointing.
Room: Riad experience with traditional decoration. Staff: Very friendly staffs at reception who are alway warm, welcome and helpful. Food: Gastronomic Menu is highly recommended, so many different dishes and probably the best during our trip to Morocco.

NetherlandsOn the photos, Kasbah Dar Daif seems like a place where you can relax comfortably on the terraces or at the pool. For this reason, we booked two nights here. However, the place did not live up to our expectations. The pool was closed and there were painters/workers busy all day around the terrace. The atmosphere in the hotel felt a bit strange and awkward, because it is really dark and quiet and the personnel seemed to be a bit restrained somehow. The dinner was average, the breakfast was good but way too much. As we felt bad about the food waste, we specifically asked for less for the next day but still received the full breakfast. The bed was small and hard, and the room very dark. I would not recommend staying here.
Recommendations for stuff to do around the hotel, tasty breakfast, in general friendly personnel.

United KingdomWhere to start... I read the reviews before booking, I must have been staying somewhere else. We had dinner the first night which was barely edible; beef skewers were a mercy killing would have been better eating my shoe, the vegetable tagine was over cooked and we sat down at 8pm as soon as dinner started! Breakfast day one was simple and coffee luke warm. Day two breakfast we were offered omlettes which was an improvement on day one but had so much cumin in they were inedible, coffee was lukeward and like mud. Outside lights on the terrace didn't work, Bed was extremely hard. Shower was tiny. Location was awful, thank fully we had a car with us but otherwise its a long taxi ride to the main town.
The terrace for the room was a nice to have but not worth the cost. The room was very clean and tidy. Was very nice to have a fridge.

ItalyAs the structure is so ancient the room I stayed in was a bit small, my doughters on the other hand had a good sized room. The area where the hotel is is a bit degraded, but the beauty of the hotel and the kindness of the staff make up for it
The hotel is in a refurbished Kasbah, really amazing, the chance to stay in such a particular place is rare
