Shower cubicle was a little dark. Some more fruit selection would have been appreciated at breakfast.

The only thing I would say is we struggled to get hot water from our shower but it wasn’t a major issue.

The riad was stunning and a lot bigger than expected, it was super clean and had a lot of lovely details that didn’t go unnoticed - the staff were so lovely and helpful. The rooms were clean and huge!

Meals should come with water. Please also be careful of the area around the riad, on a few occassions, people told us that we were going the wrong way, led us in another direction and asked for money. Just make sure you ignore these folks.

The staff were wonderful and we felt well taken care of. The breakfast was large and contained lots of variety, we really enjoyed it. The meals we ordered were also delicious. We enjoyed the hammam and the pool the most, great experience.

Lighting in the Fez room was too dim.

Was greeted by a gentleman called Said and he gave a good overview of what to expect in Marrakech (our first time). Very welcoming and the riad is truly gorgeous. We stayed at one of the rooms on ground floor for the first 2 nights (Fez); room was rather dark with minimal lighting. But this room has got so much character; rather amazing with a cave-ish layout. The third night, we had a different room (Dharkala) with better lighting but the switches work strangely; a master light switch that turns off your bedside lamps. It has a squarish layout and very conducive for luggage and bags etc A big shoutout to Hamzah, Said and Abdul for being hospitable and helpful. Thank you for all the assistance and answering our queries. Also thank you to the housekeeping staff for keeping things clean :) Pool is great. Take photos! Breakfast is good too - cooked upon arrival. Pity we could only enjoy breakfast at the top on only one day. You can get nice wraps and shawarma + grocery shop outside of the riad area; just 3min walk. There’s also a few shops that sells souvenirs if you need to shop last minute. Prices are decent. Highly recommended place to stay.

My single complaint would be shower/bath in our room probably needs maintenance or an upgrade.

We loved the location and the helpful staff. The pool was wonderful in the heat of Marrakech, as was the large airy rooms and air conditioning.

You get your money’s worth and more. It’s not expensive but you get clean rooms and outstanding service from the staff. Public transportation in Morocco for a tourist isn’t easy so it was really helpful that the hotel offers private car services.

The bathroom was dark and the shower was difficult to use as there was nothing to hold it up properly so ended up holding the shower head with one hand.

Interior was decorated beautifully - it looks just like the pictures if not better - our room was stunning and the location was good (close to the markets and shops)

- The set up of the triple room was a bit strange, there was no door you could shut between the living area and the room. There was no privacy in the bathroom, from the living room you can see into both the toilet and the bathtub, it works well if you are with your partner but if not its very exposed. - The room needed some maintenance, we had a loose bathroom fixture over the tub that fell in the middle of the night that left glass in the bathtub, we had to screw down some of the screws (we used our key to do this) in the door to get the door locked. The triple room just needs a quick check and fix, asides from these, the room was very comfy

The room was very spacious- we had the triple room. The staff at the reception who welcomed us was also very lovely, he gave us a good explanation and a bit of the history of the city. They also helped us with all our luggage. The breakfast was also yummy and refreshing

Nothing we didn’t like

We love riad palais calipau. Our second time visiting. We love the large swimming pool and roof terrace which is perfect for sunbathing with a lovely cold shower right beside the loungers to cool off. The staff are always wonderful, the two guys that serve breakfast and sayeed who was always on hand for any help we needed. We also came back to visit our little cat friend matteo, he is really the heart of this riad and such a hit with all guests. Our room was beautiful and so spacious and we love the kasbah neighbourhood the riad is located in.

The riad is an oasis of calm in the vibrant city. The courtyard is beautiful with a lovely cooling pool. Room was comfortable and spacious - and air conditioned. Very nice breakfast
