Lovely Riad right in the centre of the Medina. Rooms were spacious and beds were comfy. Omar and his staff were amazing. Highly recommend!

The riad dar Awil was the second at during my trip and it did set up expectations for the others. The service from the personal is excellent. They are polite, professional and made sure I have a quick check in and a comfortable stay. Rooms were super clean, the hotel seems to be new, the design was super cozy. Breakfast was great. Thank you to everyone at Riad Dar Awil for making my stay so memorable. I could gladly return and recommend this riad to anyone visiting Essaouira.

The room was quite dark even with the lights on, which made packing hard. But thats me being picky.

Very nice Riad in the old town of Essaouira, access to Riad is very easy from "Bab Marrakech", the Staff are really nice, Thank you Omar for showing us good addresses in Essaouira, the breakfast is amazing, special thanks for Mohammed service. If one day we come back here, we will definitely choose this Riad again

Our stay was exceptional and we were so sad to leave the Riad after a sunny afternoon spent on the roof terrace. The photos don’t do this place justice. The service could not have been any better - all the staff were extremely hospitable and made a fantastic breakfast every morning. Everything from the yoghurt to the cakes, pancakes and egg tagine prepared in their lovely kitchen. The rooms were lovely and we were able to have our clothes washed after a week spent travelling around morocco. The location inside the Medina is ideal, just 5 minutes from the bus station on foot. We did horse riding and surfing and the tours collected us right outside the Medina which was very convenient. Finally, it was very close to what turned out of be our favourite little fish restaurant, le vague bleue, which was also convenient! Thank you Dar Awil, we hope to come back again! In the meantime, we will recommend this lovely spot to anyone we know travelling to beautiful Essaouira!

Beautiful Riad within walking distance of all the main sites including the port area. Friendly staff, superb breakfast, quiet location, superbly designed and decorated Riad. The manager was extremely helpful with providing us with a map and some guidance on arrival as well as a lovely mint tea on the beautiful terrace. I would return here in a heart beat :). Very good value.

During the night and in the morning it was quite cold(January) and we had only an electric radiator which couldn’t heat the room enough, so it would have been nice to have another source of heat. But it was just a small inconvenient, nothing to ruin our stay.

The room was looking nice and clean, with a big bathroom. The staff was really nice. The breakfast was very good, freshly made everyday but mainly sweet things (except for the eggs and some cheese). The location was very good, close to everything.

The riad is conveniently located, just a 5 minute walk from the centre of the medina. It’s clean, comfortable and peaceful. Eunice and the team are all so polite and welcoming, and unobtrusive, they are perfect! The bed was very comfy, and the breakfast was amazing - huge and delicious, and the evening meal that you can have if you want was a good as any of the restaurants we ate at. Our room was serviced daily, and plenty of blankets and a heater were provided as it was a little chilly at night (in January).

We had a comfortable room with a private sitting area outside the door. Delicious breakfast. Easy, short walk from one of the major gates to the property. Lovely rooftop sitting area.
