How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The bathroom could be cleaner, and the insufficient light - no way reading in your bed. You have to leave the bed in order to switch on or off the light.
The decoration and Architektur of the Riad (Hotel), the friendly staff, as well as the quite location in the middle of the historical City.

Very noisy location, hard to get good sleep, and curtains didn't occult much light. Shower head broken.
Very central, everything you need close by. Very beautiful and large room. Comfortable bed. Staff very lovely. The bed was made every day and fresh towels provided.

Only thing I'd say is the terrace wasn't quite as magical looking as it is in the photos – looked to me like it's used mostly for laundry, not for sitting and enjoying. But nonetheless, it was a very lovely stay. Thank you so much! Would stay again.
LOVED this stay. The young woman on reception whose name I unfortunately didn't catch was so friendly, so helpful. Big comfortable rooms. Delicious breakfast. Great location in the heart of the medina. Strongly recommend!

Maybe it would have been nice to have some variety in the breakfast, in case you stay longer. But for 3 days it was ok for me.
Very practic Riad in one of the main street of Essaouira. They gave me a bigger room, so I can't really write about the single room. I got a very good deal and I'm happy with the relationship quality-price; maybe the riad lack a bit of some atmosphere, it's more similar to a hotel; but I was aware of it.

Bedding felt damp and not cleaned each time guests leaves. Humid in room. Bathroom fan not working. Poor water pressure in shower.

nice riad. just off the main street in the Medina..staff very helpful, leave bags earl etc..the lady printed off a bus ticket for us as we had to change it..good breakfast.

no one mentioned that we had breakfast included during check in. the room we got was very humid and there is no air conditioning. the fan in the bathroom is not functional as well.
the staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was correct. the location is very central and the riad is beautiful. there is a terrace for use 24h which was very cool to use for breakfast during the day or even during the night for some cool air.

There was 1 man there when we arrived that was rude. The issue was resolved. However just because you have a bad experience with previous guest does not mean you reflect that on future guest.
The rooms were well organized and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The lady at the reception was absolutely amazing.

The windows were open when I arrived, with flies inside my room.. I had to make sure Room wasn't exposed to insects or flies. The steps were steep to the top floor and required hard work to take luggage on my own to the Top floor.
The location was easy to reach inside the Medina. Had no problems to find via GPS. The reception staff were helpful and courteous. Rhe breakfast on rooftop was nice, and everything was fresh.

The construction work was just behind our windows, it was really noisy, streets have their typical odour. I would probably book something out of medina next time - to enjoy more peace and quiet...(let's see)
The riad is located right in the medina what brigs its advantages and disadvantages. The acommodation is clean and staff very kind and helpfull. Rooms are spacious and beautiful. Whole Riad is very traditional, we enjoyed our stay
