Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaYou will hear all sounds if any. Breakfast is satisfactory but you may feel a bit lack of cleaness (dishes, kettlery&glasses). Not easy to find. Parking is separate and for extra cost (riad doesn't have it due to location). Not enough light.
Location in Medina. Authentic riad to feel yourself in old times (quite exotic in comparison with classic hotels). Room is equipped with all necessary things incl.bathroom, wifi, TV, frige. For family we had room with bed upstairs, enough space.

United KingdomJust 2 recommendations, WIFI to be strengthened in the rooms, and if a mini bar can be added to the room. Other than this, was a perfect stay and worthy .
Wonderful hospitality, great service, very welcoming and helpful staff, whatever we asked them they never said no. Room was very clean and cosy. Breakfast was amazing and tasty. Special thanks to Ibrahim who was very kind and super helpful. Will recommend it to my friends and family, and certainly will stay again if I came back to Chefchaouen

United KingdomBeing very ‘picky’; the only thing to hold items in the shower was broken.
I’ve experienced better breakfasts on my Morocco trip but it was okay. Location to get everywhere walking was fabulous plus out of really busy areas but you need help with suitcases unless you’re travelling very lightly. The star were excellent helping with whatever you needed and the riad had a family, cosy feel to it with various communal sitting areas.

ItalyWe had the smallest room as all the other rooms were fully booked, but the price/quality ratio was good for this reason.
There is an amazing terrace with a stunning view of the Spanish mosque and super friendly and helpful staff. We had a good time having a relaxing breakfast (which was amazing). The room was rather small but had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

United KingdomGround floor rooms a little more 'pokey'.
We were very well looked after at Gharnata - our room was at the top of the property and had its own terrace. The room was large and airy and the terrace had wonderful views towards the Spanish Mosque. The ground floor rooms are cheaper but a little windowless by comparison. The staff were attentive and kind - offering mint tea after a hot afternoon of walking!

NetherlandsThis is not the cheapest accommodation option in town, but you pay for the wonderful views. Be sure to sit out on the terraces to enjoy and make the most of the mountain views. The en suite kitchenette with fridge are perfect for preparing your own sundowner apéro if that's your thing. We thoroughly enjoyed it all.
The views from the rooftop terraces was spectacular - great to look at the mountains and a fantastic views over the town. Staff were extremely friendly and cheerful, and the breakfast was fabulous. Inside, the rooms were tastefully decorated and cosy at night. I stayed here 7 years ago and loved it then. I still love it now.

ItalyThe location is perfect, in the blue center! When we arrived he showed us all the room options that were available and we picked after checking each room, which was sort of a free upgrade to what we were expecting. He also helped us to find places to eat (Sofia and Baba Ssour) which were the best we had in Morocco, also he suggested us what to do, and we spent our short time in the best way possible! Also the room had a perfect sound isolation, so we slept without any disruptions! Highly recommended, a beautiful riad with a nice atmosphere and a rooftop with a nice view!

BelgiumAs mentioned above, the quality of the mattress will depend on the room. In winter (we were there just after Xmas) it is pretty cold outside and the reversible A/C heats up (pretty well) the room but not the bathroom. It’s quite ok though overall.
We had a very charming suite for four with an amazing terrace where we had breakfast (even in December as once the sun was up was warm enough and protected by wind. The beds were so and so and I had trouble sleeping on the double bed (the mattress was firm in an uncomfortable way and I felt a bit claustrophobic as the bed was inside 3 walls). I took a double room the next night and the young man at reception was very nice to change the room I booked with one closer to the suite with a king sized bed which was very comfortable even though the room was pretty small otherwise. Outside this room there was a very nice common place as a living room and overall the building had a lot of charm. The breakfast was amazing and the staff very helpful (without any unwanted push).
