Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had an amazing stay at Riad Hugo. It is conveniently located in a quieter part of the Medina, which is welcome after a day in the hustle and bustle of the narrow streets and souks. The immediate area also feels very safe, you're in walking distance of many of the main attractions and also close taxi drop off/pick up. The Riad itself is beautiful inside. It is small and homely, and the rooms are comfortable. We enjoyed spending time on the roof terrace, eating the delicious and fresh Moroccan breakfast while taking the morning sun. Tariq is a genuine and lovely guy, and an excellent host - he's always there if you have questions or need help/tips, and we really enjoyed chatting to him. Highly recommended! D&N

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike at all.
From the moment we booked, Tariq couldn’t have been more helpful, sorting transfers from and to the airport and giving us all the information and advice we needed. It was our 3rd trip to Morocco and Riad Hugo was a fantastic home during our stay in Marrakech, near El Badi pallace and 10 mins walk away from the main really busy part of the medina, which made it blissfully quiet. The house is beautifully furnished and has all the elegant character of an old riad, with a lovely roof terrace for relaxing, and a small plunge pool which we didn’t need but in the summer heat would be great. We spent a lot of time chatting about pretty much everything with Tariq, who is an exceptional host, a gentleman, as the driver said. We’d definitely be very happy to stay with him again.

United KingdomA perfect little palace. Tareq had been communicating with us on WhatsApp to arrange trips but was away so Joaud looked after us. He was amazing and such a nice man - greeted us with mint tea and snacks and helped us navigate the medina. Good to have a sense of adventure to stay in medina although area seemed safe and I slept well in very comfy bed. Also loved the tiled bath. Simple but delicious and fresh Moroccan breakast on the terrace. Just 15 min walk from the big square with lively entertainment. Beautiful place.

United KingdomWe loved the authenticity of Riad Hugo. It’s very pretty, with a lovely rooftop and breakfast room. Tariq is an exceptional host and was happy to help when we had questions or needed a taxi. It’s in a good location, about a 15 minute walk from the main square but the souks on the way (and just round the corner) were our favourite as it was quieter and less intense. I’d recommend Riad Hugo to anyone going to Marrakesh

United KingdomTariq who checked us in was amazing we were welcomed with a wonderful assortment of traditional snacks and fresh brewed pot of tea. We stayed for our baby moon the room had been adorned with rose petals. He was always so welcome and helped us with recommendations and booking activities. You could not find a better host or Riad in Marrakech. I would come back anytime and will highly recommend this as the place to stay. It's a hidden gem nestled away in a quiet spot with east access and walking distance to all the main attractions and main square.

United KingdomNothing, honestly couldn’t pick a single fault if I had to. The attention to detail was amazing.
The property was absolutely beautiful, exactly like the images online! Everything you would expect to work worked, Air con, hot water etc. so much effort has been put into the design and details of the riad. Very close to the centre of Marrakech but not to close, quiet of an evening, lovely rooftop terrace. Only 20 mins from the airport. We didn’t want to leave ! Tariq was a fantastic host, very helpful with information on how to have the best time In Marrakech. We eat at a lot of places in Marrakech but actually the meal we had at the riad was in our opinion the best meal we had of the whole trip. Breakfast each morning was also very good. For the price we paid and for exceptional service we got me and my wife wouldn’t recommend anywhere else to stay in Marrakech. We will be re booking for next year!

United KingdomOnly the lighting! This is always the same in hotel accommodation, not only here - too dim to read in comfort.
The breakfast was delicious and varied every day. The location had great historical atmosphere and was close to some major sites. Above all, our host was amazing and treated us like friends as well as honoured guests, arranging meals and trips, and even sending guides to rescue us when we got lost.

United Kingdomnothing - we had a perfect stay!
Tariq (the host) was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He made us feel welcome the second we walked through the riad's door. He arranged drivers for excursions and recommended lots of good activities, sights, and restaurants. The location/area felt very safe with lots of riads nearby and there were plenty of shops to purchase water or snacks from as well. We enjoyed chatting with Tariq and the other guests at breakfast and whilst enjoying the riad. We were truly made to feel at home and can't wait to go back!

I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude for the extraordinary stay we had at your riad in Marrakech. The experience was absolutely wonderful, and we were both captivated by the beauty and authenticity of this magical place. My mother and I were deeply touched by your warm hospitality and attention to every detail. Every moment spent in your riad was a true sensory and cultural escape. We already miss Marrakech terribly. MoroccoMe and my husband’s weekend escape to Marrakech was nothing short of magical, thanks to the enchanting Riad Hugo and its exceptional host, Tariq. From the moment we crossed the threshold, we were transported into a world of beauty and hospitality that exceeded our expectations. Upon our arrival, Tariq extended a warm and genuine welcome, making us feel like cherished guests in his home. The traditional Moroccan mint tea he graciously offered was a delightful introduction to the rich tapestry of flavors that awaited us throughout our stay. Tariq's passion for his job was evident from the start, as he took the time to guide us through the intricacies of Marrakech. His personalized tour revealed hidden gems and local treasures that we would have undoubtedly missed without his expert guidance. His knowledge of the city was matched only by his genuine enthusiasm, transforming a simple tour into a captivating journey. Riad Hugo itself is a testament to the beauty of Moroccan architecture and design. Every corner is adorned with intricate tilework, vibrant colors, and handcrafted details that reflect the true essence of Marrakech. The courtyard provided a peaceful retreat from the bustling energy of the city. Our room was a sanctuary of comfort and style, with traditional furnishings and modern amenities seamlessly blending to create an atmosphere of relaxation. The attention to detail in every aspect of the Riad's design was evident, from the intricately carved wooden doors to the delicate lanterns that cast a warm glow throughout the evening. Tariq's hospitality extended beyond the expected, as he ensured that our every need was met with a genuine smile. His recommendations were spot-on, allowing us to savor the authentic experience and bring home a piece of its vibrant culture.

NetherlandsMy first room had some bugs but I was immediately assigned a new, clean room.
The host (Tariq) was great; gave lots of tips, thinking along and very hospitable. The accommodation was well finished and felt authentic but modern at the same time. Also located just outside the medina, a quiet and calm place. Way better compared to some other Riads at the same price in Marrakech I stayed on this trip.
