Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CroatiaI showed at the property to find out that they have no available room for me due to overbooking. They were not very helpful and just offered me a refund. It was almost midnight and I had no place to stay. Luckily I manage to book another amazing riad Le Singe Rose. U returned to this riad in the morning because I forgot the phone charger there, and It looked like a real mess with some guests being visibly unsatisfied with the service. At the end I was happy not to spend the night at this place.

United KingdomOk, out of eleven Riads I have stayed in Marrakech this one was the worst. For starters it is impossible to find with the address given with the booking not matching the address of the property and all digital maps (the booking.com, google and Apple) giving different and wrong locations. Only possible to find if you engage local louts and those get shirty with you unless you hand over money... Then the actual door has no label / name above it! Once inside you are in a featureless building save for a few framed photos. Dark and grim. Roof top terrace offers a whiff of sewage and surrounding buildings are in ruin. There seems to be no non-smoking policy and we could smell the cigarette smoke most of the night and in the morning. Ah, don't expect bottle of water or WiFi in the room. The guys that try to turn it are ok, maybe not at fault but they are struggling to deliver. Orange juice in the morning was from a carton and we only ended up getting a couple of yoghurt pots as we needed to leave by 8am and they could not give us breakfast before. Finally it is overpriced. AVOID! AVOID!

SwitzerlandThe room had only a tiny window, so very dark. The bathroom drains were clogged and smelled very bad. The riad was very difficult to find the first day particularly rolling my suitcase around the streets of the Medina. The price is quite high for a riad of this category.
Good breakfast on the terrace. And the staff is trying their best.

FranceBathroom was full of moisture in the shower door, walls, everywhere. Missing one lamp, tv remote non-existant, shower hook broken but still there. Definitely not worth the money paid per night for this quality standards. Transfer to Essaouira organised by the property was a disaster, totally ruined my day. This is not exactly property's fault but as they take the money and they have a commission on this, they should pay attention to their business partners.
Small property centrally located in a very peaceful setting. Staff is kind and helpful. Transfer from the airport highly recommended. Good mattress.

United KingdomThe staff seemed pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately as we were literally leaving to meet our taxi to the airport, we were told we had to pay the City Taxes and the taxi fare to and from the airport. We argued that we had paid the taxes via Booking.com to which they said the law was to pay in person at the property, we should ask the latter for a refund. We duly paid the tax and taxi fares. It was a CON on two fronts, we had paid the tax and we had already paid one of the taxis. I contacted the hotel person directly to say I was not impressed and wanted a refund. He claimed it was unintentional and would find a way to refund us. Obviously, I never heard anything back and Booking.com refused to consider as we paid in cash so had no paper trail to prove it. Spoilt what had been a very pleasant weekend in Marrakesh.
The property was reasonably well situated. The problem was that on arrival the room type we had booked was not available so we had a small ground floor room overlooking the internal courtyard, we had this room for two of the three nights and realised when they moved us what we had been missing. Far superior and spacious room and although they gave us a nice dinner in the hotel I am not sure it made up for the two nights.

United KingdomSteep steps, grotty and squalid lane to reach it,
The Riad is very delapited and many things don’t work. On the positive side the young man who runs it when his boss is away is superb. Sorry forgotten his name. He is clued up on up all things local and very helpful. If you have mobility issues the breakfast is served on the roof..steep steps, no handrails and actually no views,

United KingdomThe riad was really difficult to find. There are no signs leading to the riad, it's down two lanes in the market area packed with people and hustle and bussle of the streets like mopeds, etc. The front door is constantly locked and again difficult to find. I had to ask the riad next door to help me access the venue. There was no English speaking staff on hand to help me check in. The cleaner put me on the phone to the owner, who eventually got me into a room. Facilities/room were average as you would expect for the price, but also, it was next to the front door, which had people coming in and out, and it was pretty noisy This venue had amazing reviews, and I felt safe going there, but I didn't expect to be in a dark Ally packed with locals working 24/7 it was pretty scary for a solo traveller. My job finished at midnight, and I was carrying cases of expensive equipment, and it just didn't feel safe to me.
It had WiFi. Staff member who I think was the cleaner tried to help me but also couldn't speak English. She persisted with me and it was OK I got into a room and got the WiFi on my phone to communicate with my people.

GermanyThe rooms are super dark and quite worn dorn. You can see that in the broken bathroom fixtures, in the old mosaic tiles that still have toothpaste residue on them and on the furniture. Also despite having to catch our flight at 3am, they took the time to pressure us into giving a 10* review and how important that is to them. Left a bad taste.
Friendly, helpful people that are very accommodating. Also perfectly located and in a quiet, nicer area of the Medina. Okay for one night, a bit depressing for more.

DenmarkWe were told that we got upgraded and therefore were given a different room. The new room didn’t feel like an upgrade and was very dark with black painted walls. Other than that the stay was ok…
It was a quiet area far from the noise of the busy Medina, nice roof terrace and breakfast. The staff was helpful especially we enjoyed Abdou’s relaxed and friendly style of service. This is highly appreciated in a city we’re service in general can be a bit intense.
