Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceWe had a lovely expérience in the Riad Sanwa. The room was a nice typical style, the terace was very nice in the morning with a nice breakfast with typical maroccan food. We also took a cooking course with Hind that teached us a nice marrocan receipe for tagine and for a starter salade. Yahia was also helping with the english translation. I want to thanks all the persons from the riad Mourrad, Hind, Yahia, Sebastian that were very kind, helpful and made our stay a great stay in Marrakech. I give them a 5 star rating.

PortugalVery beautiful riad, in the center of the medina. The staff was so kind and helpful, they made us feel very comfortable. The breakfasts were very good, with some local food. I asked if they could make a vegan breakfast and they did, always making sure we had enough food/drinks. Overall, we loved it! We hope to go back one day, and thank you to the wonderful staff

Mourad, Ashraf, Hamza, Nistrine, Sanaa, Hind: We cannot thank you enough :-) Our stay with you was amazing. The mutual positivity, sociability and good will of all of you made it so worth staying at Riad Sanwa. The location was ideal and the Riad very clean and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was great, abundant and varied and we could eat it on the rooftop which was a plus. Without a doubt we will be staying with you next time we go to Marrakech (hopefully soon). I cannot stress how at home and looked after we felt. The staff are such a dedicated team of people who go above and beyond what is required. Mourad accompanied us around the Medina one morning during our stay for a good hour ( I believe in his free time) giving us advice and helping us out with purchases etc, Thank you!! On our last night we chatted for a long while with Ashraf, what a lovely guy and full of information. It was the perfect ending to our stay. He even accompanied us to our taxi ( since they are unable to access the winding, narrow streets of the Medina. Thank you to all involved ❤️ From Gina and Mariano

SpainWe had to wait for the host to open the riad and let us in around 10 minutes on the street at night. It was very noisy and difficult to sleep. We were not offered to have breakfast 30 min earlier than it was established. The blankets were a bit tired. Also, be careful with people offering you to help you with your luggage, they don´t work in this riad and ask you for 20 euros for carrying your luggage for 2 minutes.
The location is good. The room had everything we needed.

PortugalI think the property could be cleaner. If you walked barefoot on the floor you could feel dust. The bathroom also was not 100% clean.
The property was in a great location! Both Simo and Yaya were great hosts, helping with everything we required.

PortugalWe booked a day trip to Ourika Valley, paying for the full tour, which explicitly excluded lunch. These were the conditions we discussed with Hamza, the hotel receptionist who helped us arrange the tour. At the end of the tour, to our surprise, we were told we had to pay separately for the tour guide's services, with the fee being almost the same as the cost of the tour itself. This service was presented as part of the package, but we were informed of this additional charge only at the end of the tour, making it a complete scam. We called the receptionist, who distanced himself from the situation, claiming that we had chosen to hire this guide, even though he had assured us that everything was included. There was no attempt to apologize for the situation, and we were left to deal with the issue on our own, otherwise we would be stranded in the middle of nowhere. We expected the hotel and its services to live up to what they advertise, but it has been a complete disappointment. A scam of this nature in a hotel like this is unacceptable. I strongly advise against booking any type of service with this hotel. The room has no windows, so ventilation relies on you leaving the AC on even though you don't need it.
Great cost-benefit rate. Cheap hotel in the heart of the medina, meaning you can walk everywhere. Good freshly made breakfast served on the rooftop. Option to bring your own food and drinks and eat them at the rooftop.

ItalyUnfortunately, our room didn’t have a window which made it feel “closed”. Also, given the lack of a window and the structure of the riad, there was mould in the room and in bathroom.
The location is perfect, right in the centre of Medina but away from the main alleys and noise. The staff is awesome: friendly, helpful and they’re doing everything to make you welcome. Also, they give you a lot of tips on the city and tell you stories and secrets.

New ZealandThe bed was the worst I have ever had in my travels! An absolute shocker. Room 5. Lumpy and half soft, half hard... just needs to be replaced. I have told the staff and they promise to change it. Avoid room 5.

SwitzerlandThere was little respect for the quiet hours from 10pm. Staff tended to have long and loud conversations with guests returning late which affected other guests trying to sleep. I would advise to absolutely avoid the rooms close to the reception area if you are a light sleeper. I am not sure if daily cleaning of the rooms is offered as my room was not cleaned for the 5 nights I stayed.
The location is perfect as it is right in the middle of the Medina. However, it is not the best option if you are looking for holiday type relaxation. The breakfast service was good.

GermanyThe bed in the single room is very small and short. It was not comfortable and the room was not 100% clean. It was very noisy because the reception is just some stairs down and you hear everyone talking...
The staff was very welcoming and supportive all the time. The roof top location is very great with a view over the city and the delicious local breakfast is served there. But also a nice spot for sunset over Marrakech. Even the location is very nice within the souks.
